Haiduk
Became knowingly what top-officer was lost in yesterday shot down Ka-52. Russian "Aviation history journal" public claimed this was colonel Vitaliy Tabachnikov, commander of 112th helicopter regiment (Chita airfeild) of 11th AF/AD Army, Eastern military district.

Anyway, this situation is 100% accurately simulated by CM (I know, I tried too often): rush your IFV with 'fast' into an enemy position, dismount and then die. , di Wow, that's got to be one of the most intense combat sequences captured yet.

One way to look at combat and warfare is it is a long series of interconnected ambushes. The right intel and firepower at the right place and time across multiple domains.

Haiduk
Today UKR General Staff categorically rejected information about significant Russian breakthrough on Borova direction. DeepState map in own turn "painted back" part of yesterday "occupied" territories, but remained Novoyehorivka and Serhiivka villages as occupied. Nadiya village marked as "grey zone" with a note "Russian couldn't gain a foothold in Nadiya" Some UKR videos from this direction (filmed not later 23rd of July) - Stugna-P team of 66th mech.brigade hit three tanks and BMP Edited July 26, 2023 by Haiduk
FancyCat
Quote A harrowing paper. "Statistics shared by Ukrainian physicians demonstrate that more than 70% of all Ukrainian combat casualties are due to artillery & rocket barrages ... which has resulted in significant polytrauma to multiple organ systems." Quote Biden has quietly ordered the US government to share evidence with the International Criminal Court in The Hague, a major policy shift that followed months of an internal impasse prompted by Pentagon resistance to the step.
Haiduk
"Kraken" again on the warpath. I've read, this unit got own tank detachment. But in this time their drone targeted two Russian "Grads". Alas, either they transmitted not enough accurate coordinates, or HIMARS crew made some error, but both missiles hit enough far aside launchers. BTW both Grads at least got damages and one driver was wounded or killed. Edited July 26, 2023 by Haiduk

Offshoot
An interesting and in-depth interview with a Ukrainian sniper on the equipment, roles and tactics of snipers in the war - https://euromaidanpress.com/2023/07/25/stopping-the-modern-hitler-snipers-hold-the-line-in-ukraines-battle-for-survival/ Quote Judging from the casualties rates from our side and the Russian side, and according to the information from the medics, when it is relatively calm on the front lines: 88% of casualties are from artillery. 10% are from snipers. 2% are from ordinary gunfire. When the offensive starts either from the Ukrainian side or Russian sides, then the proportions are different, but in general, snipers are always in second place.
Haiduk
Situation in Klishchiivka - Russians organized heavy counter attack. Fighting in northern part of the village is going for each meter. Probably Russians threw in the battle units of 102nd MRR of 150th MRD, moved here from Maryinka direction.

cesmonkey
13 minutes ago, FancyCat said: in response to the restart of the offensive jumping off, In my reading of the Russian telegram channels, they have no doubt where the real axes of advance are being attempted right now. For example:https://t.me/polk105/9594 Quote Heavy fighting on the Vremievsky ledge: the enemy sent elite forces to break through the front near Staromayorsk, Harvest and Priyutny . The enemy offensive at the junction of Zaporozhye and the DPR does not stop, the enemy dreams of breaking through along the T-08-15 highway through Staromayorskoye to Staromlynovka and further in order to cut through our defenses on the South-Donetsk sector of the front and try to cut off land communication with Crimea. It's not easy for the guys in Staromayorsky and Harvest now - there are constant attacks of the Ukrainian. After artillery preparation, the 35th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of special operations forces, attacks from Makarovka. Also, the enemy, with the support of artillery, seeks to advance through the landings at Priyutny and Harvest, so far to no avail. Under Harvest, the enemy attacks in small assault groups, trying to break through and hit our flank. There are swings.

There are so many tracks made by vehicles, past and present, that it's not a given that if you see tracks there is a target currently there to hit. But for sure the last place you'll look for a vehicle is someplace without any tracks, so for sure seeing fresh looking ones should be explored. kevinkin
Perhaps the combat is so deadly that basic things in field manuals and 90 day training can't be executed on the battlefield to make difference?
