Speedy
Ok Snoopy and myself have just completed a tcp session to finish off the last 9 turns of our game. In a game that came right down to the wire with a viscious little infantry and tank fight over the VL located in a village. Highlights being my Panther knocking out Snoopys' last remaining effective tank (Churchill VIII) only to have it and my Stuh 42 suffer Gun Damage from arty and my mk4 get knocked out by somefink? later in the same turn. And a great massacre of infantry led to a final result of.... .. .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . DRAW 45 to 45 make another map boss ------------------ Work is the curse of the drinking class. I have nothing else to say. Juardis
quote:
Originally posted by kollos: Hey there, Kollos hangs head in disgrace. Battle hinged on 2 factors. ( WIDE open terrain. 2) wet ground. Could not even help as all the american mobility advantage gets bogged down.

I gotta ask Kollos. What in the world are you doing buying armor on wet ground?!?! That is suicide (as you found out ) If you feel the urge, then you MUST buy HVSS types as their tracks are wider and the suspension is different. So much so that their chance of bogging is greatly diminished (11.0 psi ground pressure vs. >15 psi for the M4A3 76mm). That is why the Ami's designed them. ------------------ Jeff Abbott
Snoop
Well darn Speedy if I knew your Panther and stug had their guns knocked out I would have put my airborne squads in the houses. I would have had a better chance at winning, but that's war for ya. Oh by the way CPL Talbert and his piat knocked out your MK4. I will promote him to SGT. Iron Duke
Congratulations Joeski! The fortunes of War are indeed harsh and unforgiving...do not apologize for your Victory, for the murderous Kollos would have done the same to you had things been different! The Second Round awaits. Ahh...A tie-breaker is at hand! Tie Breaker: Points: 400 Turns: 10 Map: Small Weather, Ground Conditions: Clear and Very Dry or Dry Time: May 45 Victory Flags: 1 small Units Allowed: ONLY Armor and Vehicles...NO infantry of ANY TYPE. I am updating the First Round Bracket, please see below for details. Also peeps, keep those PBEM's moving along and please, if you can, post on what turn your battles are on so that I can get an idea where we are at. Iron Duke
Ok guys, there are a lot of you that I haven't heard from...please give me an update to where your game is at. Also, if you can swing it, try and get your battles finished up by the weekend. Anyone who will not make that date let me know. ------------------ One shot...One Kill
Juardis
quote:
Originally posted by Iron Duke: Anyone who will not make that date let me know.

Juardis vs. Kunzler. We're on turn 9 (or is it 10?). He can't see me very well and I can't see him very well. And for either of us to do so would be death. Something will be done though. I'm just not sure who's gonna make the first move. Anyway, Kunzler is out of town til Sunday, so we will definitely not finish up by then. ------------------ Jeff Abbott
Iron Duke
NOTICE: I am extending the First Round completion date till the following weekend. (Sunday, 10 DEC) I have finished the Second Round Maps! All six are ready to go. I have a proposition: How would you all feel about adding a few points for the Second Round? I propose 3000 to 3500 points per side due to the size of the Second Round maps...they are all quite large. Also, I would add 5 to 10 more turns to each battle. Thus 30 to 40 min each, just so you don't feel too rushed. Another vote is in order here. One vote for the points: Y/N One vote for the turns: Y/N Let me know. ------------------ One shot...One Kill
Juardis
If the maps are larger, then I vote 3000 points. Keep the turn limit at or below 30. Adds tension and a sense of urgency. Just my 2 dukats worth.
joeski
Yes for 3000 pts. No on more turns.

Splinty
A quick update on the battle between Def Bungis and my self. We've hit turn 9, with no changes in the battle lines, he holds the VL, but my forces are upping the pressure on him, bringing more firepower on his positions. As far as Round 2 goes, I vote yes for more points, and no for more turns. I kind of like short and intense. ------------------ Nicht Schiessen!! TBlaster
Yes for 3000 points (oh boy, I'm going to regret this since the more units I have, the sloppier I get ) No for increased turns. Tom
Iron Duke
Excellent... You guys think along the same lines as I do...I only offered the turns for the "weak-hearted" So far...3000 points and 20 turns for 1600 x 1600 25 turns for over 1600 What I am going to try and do for the Second Round is give you guys a "new" look. Meaning, if you had hard city fighting in the First Round, you will get a nice view of the Country in the Second Round, etc. Thanks for Voting guys and for the rest of you...keep those turns moving! Out. ------------------ One shot...One Kill
Snoop
I vote 3000 points. and to have 30 turns.
DEF BUNGIS
Splinty is really putting the pressure on hard now. My troops are starting to fall back. If I make it to round two, my vote goes for 3000 points. No more that 30 turns.

Iron Duke
TBlaster...funny you should say that...That is very doable. I will ask our Irish friend. OK, quick recap...Not to point any fingers (Speedy AND Snoop) LOL, when you purchase your units NO editing of their load outs is allowed! Well, I guess you CAN edit them all you want but since I purchase them for you, you WILL get the default load outs. I got a good chuckle out of opening Speedy and Snoops Tie Breaker purchases...all their tanks had almost all AP rounds and the like! LOL...hell I don't blame them, those two are great competitors and I would think less of them had the NOT tried! So just to clear everything up for the rest of you...no editing units! I will check, so don't even try. Carry on. ------------------ One shot...One Kill [This message has been edited by Iron Duke (edited 12-01-2000).]

Splinty
The battle between Def Bungis and me keeps getting bloodier and bloodier, although I have blown up several buildings with his men inside, his paratroops refuse to give ground without exacting a toll on my forces. But because of the short ranges imposed by a night battle,I must keep closing and absorb the resultant casualties. There's not going to be a quick victory in this one. ------------------ Nicht Schiessen!!
