Definitely Zone alarm have tested with Z/A disabled .I could join and connect. What puzzles me is why Z/A does not ask for permission,you can normally check Z/A and give the programme permission. I tried to drag and drop the .exe file to no avail.So no zone alarm with CM for me.Thanks for the help

I tried a false address with Zone alarm shut down, there was a reaction came back with couldn't connect to server which would be expected.I will try tcp/ip connection with some one tomorrow.Why on earth would Z/A have anything to do with a graphics card and why does Z/A not ask for permission ?? Just letting off a bit of steam here my friend:)

I have recently installed a radeon 9500 pro graphics card,runs sweetly except when trying to tcp CM freezes as soon as I enter p/w or the server connection numbers. Xp home dx 9 Help is reqd please

For quite a while I had CMBB running very nicely on my GA-VRXP mother board and G4ti4200 card.It started crashing and I do not know what caused it,it happened during a tcp/ip battle but I kept getting it periodically after that, all I get is white screens and have to reset,I also noticed that when I was in chat and activated the chat CMBB would minimise but now when activating the minimise button sound would continue and if it is a result screen I can see the result but nothing else just the mouse cursor on a black screen and I have to ctrl/alt/tab out as CM is still running.I used to be able to alt/tab minimises ok but same problem trying to continue CM. I have formatted C reinstalled everything and still the same problems.Tried older drivers later drivers all to no avail dx 8.1 and the 40.90 drivers at the moment. The purpose of this long winded post is to find out if anyone else has the GainwardG4 ti4200 card on 2 monitors and if they would be kind enough to post here or send me their configeration. XP Home btw

Just checking if I am a bit dumb or a glitch. I just placed my order but it took many many tries finally due to frustration I entered my first initial in the name field(card section) and bingo order went through. I hope this order comes direct and not via New Caledonia:)

Been using those drivers for a couple of days now with g4 ti4200 and xp no problems so far.

I have asked a few questions re my gigabyte motherboard Ga-7vrxp and the ge 4 ti4200 in the past few weeks. I finally managed to get the supplier to replace the motherboard and my problems now are solved thanks to those who took the time to offer suggestions.

megramps again. Apologies for all the questions. I have insalled winxp on d drive after all my problems with 98.I still get a not shut down correctly when starting in 98 and when starting in xp get a freeze, reset and then all seems ok,however this is not the question. I have noted that the main answer to problems seem to be make sure you have the latest drivers. I tried a pbem file sent to me and the result was a crash at 33 secs then about 40secs.Extended desktop disabled Driver info Ti4200 driver 2.8.3.2 9/03/02 Creative pci128(wdm)5.12.1.4113 5/12/01 Downloaded and insalled updates Same file loaded and ran once ok. Tried again and left my extended deskop on file loaded and ran once including back all ok So I should now be smiling checked to see the updated drivers Ti4200 2.7.2.0 15/01/02 Creative pci128 5.12.1.2065 26/10/01 I admit I am in my second childhood but for the life of me I cannot understand how the drivers I have installed are later than the original ones. Can a kind person take the time to explain thanks.

Hello again Actually had C/M running for about 10 mins or so with 1 crash when I fast forwarded the movie and hit a few keys at the same time, morrowind ran for 10 mins no crash. What I did for what it is worth did not update drivers though I have downloaded them.Removed creative start up icon by altering a key in the registry,removed the creative disk activate tool ??? program then ctrl/alt/del everything alse except explorer,deactivate extended desktop as C/M would not even load with this on. Mouse not found on start up and windows did not shut down correctly.Tried disabling fast shut down but then the computer lights and fans stayed on and the computer power button would not shut down so reactivated fast shut. Done a few resets and shut downs today and all seems to be ok.So it is wait and see what happens in the morning after I shut down tonight.

Schrullenhaft Thank you for the reply I have done most of what you suggested but not neccesarily in the right sequence or the updated drivers. I will not try anymore until I get this mouse problem and the shut down fixed. Thanks again.
