  1. Being perhaps controversial, does this suggest that no-one else has played the second scenario of that campaign ? I'm sure that's not the case. You've peaked my curiosity though, but I'll have to get through the first scenario first...
  2. A small disagreement from me - all of my mods (and there are many) for all WW2 titles are on my D drive. For example: D:\Combat Mission Fortress Italy\Data\Z
  3. +1 to this I think. Playing on Iron it seems vague 'spots' linger forever? I'm used to it, but would prefer 'old' contacts to fade afer a while. Or would I? Sometimes they do remind me that once there may have been something there that should still bother me...
  4. A week later and we're still going at it. I'm starting to like IS2s. Dave and his Panthers are very capable opponents though .
  5. I was about to say that sounds like the correct procedure. Hope it's all working now. And if you fancy a PBEM just let me know .
  6. My shameless attempt at goading a response seems to have failed . Worth a try, but I'm sure we'll hear from Steve or perhaps Charles sometime soon.
  7. I'm sure this is linked somewhere earlier in this old thread, but in case it's not a short bit of bedtime reading from 1998 : https://www.marines.mil/Portals/1/MCWP 3-35.3.pdf Includes some interesting comments at the end on Russian performance in places like Chechnya, some of which (like logistics) echo more recent performance. Apologies if I'm repeating earlier stuff...
  8. And the RT battle pack if you do WW2 as well. And it is excellent (thanks @George MC). Looking back at @Battlefront.com's (Steve's) original post in this thread, in addition to what I wrote above, there was also a CMFI battle pack incoming, which would extend my WW2 'upcoming' list to: CMBN battlepack CMFB Commonwealth / Later timescale module CMFI battle pack For those of the other persuasion, work an a CMCW module was also mentioned. Of course things may have moved on or changed since then but I think at least a couple of the above are progressing.
  9. Yes he has, but not very often. One or two some way back in the Ukraine mega-thread for example. Perhaps this proves he pops his head in the forum door at least once in a while if not more regularly.
  10. Things that are on their way (AFAIK): CMBN battlepack CMFB Commonwealth / Later timescale module And something that isn't but wishful thinking: CMRT Early War module And one which goes without saying but which is always met with stoney silence when it is said : Engine 5
  11. That explains why it looked familiar - recently played the Second Round battle as a PBEM.
  12. I should probably recognise it, but which scenario is it? I may or may not have fought over it already .
  13. Nice work Nigel, your efforts are appreciated. I downloaded Berlin v2 earlier, took a couple of minutes over WiFi . Now to experiment...
  14. FWIW, Dave and I are still playing this one and my last outgoing was turn 42 - no issues so far. Apart from him knocking out a couple of my IS2s.
  15. I think I must have very understanding PBEM opponents then. And I'm not in any hurry if they have RL things to do. You know who you are you lovely people . EDIT: I also play a bit of single player if nothing has come in, plus of course any testing I have been given by the great designers out there.
  16. Then you can guess my recommendation - get it . If you do I'd be happy to have a PBEM with your good self if you do that sort of thing.
  17. A fair point but I have been playing with a lot of IS2s recently. Bouncing off is more commonplace than some other Allied tanks .
  18. Thanks Nigel, I think I need to get in those buildings and see how they work. I was also thinking that the issue might be that you had to 'construct' the large buildings by sticking smaller buildings together. I haven't spent a lot of time on the stock Berlin stuff like @benpark's fine work, but I assume the large buldings work in a similar way? Again, something I need to get in and try.
  19. Just caught up on this one. I assume the issue is that fighting inside large buildings only really works in the game if the said buildings are compartmentalised into connected smaller buildings, and then, fighting through the connected walls is not really correct? Or am I missing the point?
  20. Yes, I continue to get the same, plus of course the damaged main gun issue. I mainly seem to see this on Panthers and Tigers but maybe I just notice it more with them as high end assets. Discussed a few times elsewhere of course...
  21. And why not JM, it's always good to see your posts. I do think I mis-read your post as saying it's in the titty-tag .
  22. Excellent work all of you wonderful people, I'm loving it (a lot more than a Maccy D).
