  1. Tis a fair point, permafrost is not the same as freezing. I could still do with those Shermans back though...
  2. I hope that Elefant isn't stuck in the mud? There's nowt worse. I currently have two otherwise lovely Shermans immobilised at Chaumont (part 2) when they have a lot of work to do. And the conditions are 'freezing'. Hmmm...
  3. Totally agree Mark. Now if you can also get rid of those 'hair transplant' lines I would be happy to pay for your next entrance at the Tank Musuem.
  4. I am enlisted, on the Soviet side. Not a popular choice but that discussion has been had elsewhere. Anyway, we need some capable Soviet commanders to, erm, force us in the right direction. If anyone fancies it, just add a post here to start with.
  5. Haha I made a similar comment to @kohlenklau a while ago about numbering on a Panzer IV (I think) being upside down. Great work though, keep going - strength and honour!
  6. I am awaiting approval from the good few men at the Few Good Men, after which I will add my name to the list. Not so many want to play Soviet it seems?
  7. Many thanks indeed. I have some enforced time off work next week so I now know what I'll be doing instead . And no I haven't been 'a very naughty boy'. EDIT: That's quite a download (1.6GB) but completed successfully in 2 minutes. Thanks again! The campaign itself may take a little longer and success may not be the outcome.
  8. How'd ya get on? H2H or single? And did you have a cheese Panther too?
  9. Sorry Chuck, I was just joking. Anyway I got you, you continued the conversation .
  10. That reminds me of a boss I once had, who had a habit of disagreeing with everyone else. He would often say 'that's it, end of discussion' and leave the room. Only to come back a few minutes later with more. Everyone still disagreed with him. And thought various thoughts about him .
  11. Okay, that's it - I'm voting for this as best thread. Full stop. Nigel, no surprises that I can't help but I was just thinking that I could live with the strange appearance. I assume it's also not so bad from a distance? Perhaps Phil (Praise be) will be along soon...
  12. Sorry for the confusion. 'A Muddy Affair' is a Final Blitzkrieg battle so not in this campaign. Was just commenting on the 'holy' Panther.
  13. Ermmm, it certainly shows some dedication to resolve the issue! But I suppose if you're called @grunter you really need the sound to be working.
  14. That's nothing, one of my Panthers in 'A Muddy Affair' with @RMM earned the name 'The Cheese Panther'. If only the gun mounts were anywhere near as tough .
  15. Love it Ian. You have confirmed something I've suspected for a while. But then our company does have 'Testing' in its name...
  16. Yes, praise be. No wait, Phil only wears that headgear on Sundays. And I'm also really liking @RockinHarry's suggestion of Panzersperre, that would be great. It just looks good on the road. Those gnashers are also nice, I assume you casually toss the ironwork into them as the dastardly Amis approach? Either that or the Germans were also at the forefront of setting up parkour facilities?
  17. Well for anyone thinking a few concrete teeth would stop the inevitable, LSD must have been the drug of choice. Hang on, google says Dead Prez ain't dead man?
  18. I can see your house up on the hill but I didn't know you were asked to re-deploy your drainage...
  19. I think I can see that in two of the teeth. It might just be the LSD though.
  20. It's a bit funky looking for a military vehicle but who knows. Could be a recovery from the local RU 'stolen stuff' depot, fridges are even harder to carry.
  21. Mark, always the perfectionist . I see nothing wrong. Okay the surfaces look jazzy but the Germans were the front runners in the world of graffiti and random decoration. That's not necessarily a historical fact, but it might be from now on. Anyway, I think a Sherman tank driver might be distracted by the patterns, so it's a job well done. I have been playing with my kitten (ooh err) for a couple of hours now. Only stopping when he decided that wrestling the Spaniel was more fun. I'm sure there's a crude joke in there somewhere? Answers on a postcard please, post them here.
  22. No need for apologies Ian, and thanks for the excellent support. You are only rivalled by @BFCElvis. As we've discovered some of the issues were down to my odd 'behaviour'. Once we've ironed out everything I'll add some detail here as I wouldn't want to put anyone else off.
  23. Great shout, I was thinking the same. Plus his work also contradicts a lot of the 'history' about tank numbers, losses etc. but it seems very well researched and believable. Expecting something similar I recently bought and started to read 'Demolishing the Myth, the tank battle at Prokhorovka' by Valery Zamulin. It's not quite the same but one aspect is that the idea of vast numbers of opposing tanks slogging it out in a frenzied coming together is not what actually happened. He also gives some good reasons for successes and failures, like poor decision-making on the Soviet side.
