  1. I recall seeing this in CMBS. So even the best rounds will be stopped by trees. Hull down is probably more effective, but I have definitely had rounds denied by trees.
  2. I was fine getting nations in CMFI, but note the insane amount of content from maps in CMRT. My first and foremost gripe was the lack of maps
  3. I was going to, but it would definitely take some work. And then I wouldn't be able to upload it and benefit from the work. It would be all mine :/
  4. I have played a pbem using the berlin brigade already, my they smashed all my armor as the soviets. But I gave them a pretty good bloody nose. Post conversion there are a couple of building types that sometimes have extra invisible floors, or roofs that look like an upper floor. It seldomly occurs though... if anything its nearly at the same rate as maps from official releases. The black rubble walls are the most prodominant issue. They are the only part of the maps that dont translate. It is true, the Berlin Wall is found only on the West Berlin map, and then it's barely on the map. It would fit for a QB, but probably not a master map. If there was a tool to shift the items/buildings/topography on map Eastward then it could make sense to use the West Berlin map with an extension added to the West. The amount of effort that went into the Berlin map must have been truly incredible and insane. It would be a total waste to leave it bound specifically to F&R. Most people that dont own F&R probably dont even know it exists, something that would certainly influence their purchase.
  5. Yeah unfortunately I don't know anything about this sort of stuff. I only know the amateur stuff. And that was learned off others, like Kevin.
  6. Lol yeah I got mine too. I was happy and surprised to see that. However I found it ironic the cover was a picture of a m60 smashing through the Berlin wall after I was told "Ain't never gonna happen." I hope this isn't just ironic and maybe an official Berlin map is in the works. People would expect that when looking at the cover.
  7. CMSF2 does indeed have endless user made content. Like 10x what the game originally came with. It probably has the most user made content of all the games. (I spent hours one day downloading everything off the mod websites for every game). These user made scenarios are excellent. Though smaller in scale than other titles. My CMSF2 wont be able to handle a full marine expeditionary unit without getting so sluggish that I can't even alt tab from the game. Which is really sad because I find them to be the most fun and interesting formations of all the modern titles. CMFB is as Glubokii Boy said... very similar to CMBN. You get some Jumbos, some jagdtigers, and some other niche goodies. Overall the TOE and available vehicles is probably the most in CM. With exception to CMBN+ the modules. HOWEVER the CMFB maps are probably the best in the CM series. They are hilly and diverse in terrain. Quite a few maps to play around in. Personally this is among my least played titles overall. I do disagree with Glubokii Boy that CMCW lacks diversity. IMO It's probably the most diverse base title with an exception to CMFB. The Soviets and Americans have access to a couple generations of troops which leads to pretty interesting matchups. China v Western should absolutely be the next CM. That would be so sick.
  8. Thats pretty ironic, because if you played the older games you would know they run like crap
  9. It might be about the first mission in the soviet campaign. Thats what my last post was about
  10. I really havent played with the 122s because I always thought the penetration was meh. That was the A-19 gun. The newer D-25 gun found on IS-2 mid and late variants is actually scary. I guess the ISU-122s has it too. It can penetrate a king tiger at distance.
  11. Yeah that was a sick shot. Should be included in a video showcasing CMCW
  12. CMCW will offer you the most content and the best experience overall. It has the best performance of all the games, has vehicles that span ~20 years of development, and has a lot of maps. I dont even consider CMSF2 because of its abysmal performance. CMBS is good, but needs a module already!!! CMCW also accepts converted maps from every single title. Including CMBN. So you can have near endless enjoyment from CMCW.
  13. You can see the 2nd reflection on the right side of that shipping container!
  14. I was watching a Red Effect video since I was bored. At 0:40 seconds there is a clip of an apfsds round penetrating right through the front of a T-72 and exiting the rear. Totally insane. It's only 3 seconds long, but holy crap!
  15. Then they are almost as good as t34/85 :)
  16. I hate shermans but they kill a lot of stuff! Well, except for Stugs.
  17. I think pretty much all the German infantry come with panzerfausts unfortunately. Good thing is they wont ever use them for this setting. Occasionally you'll have a trooper that walks around with the faust out instead of his primary though, and that's kind of annoying to see. Yeah it doesn't seem like much was documented on the internet about it. It was hard to pull TOE information so I'm sure the history is sparse too. Maybe this would be a good place for me to look in regards to better TOE information.
  18. This is a rudimentary version of WW1 forces. It's mostly correct with some abstractions. Both sides offer a somewhat balanced mix of forces. From my FGM post: I designed the Germans with the Kriegsmarine. So they are primarily rifle squads with a few scattered LMG's. The Squad leaders all have MP40s. The Germans generally have better and a little more plentiful MG's (MG34). They also have access to very powerful artillery... the 150mm on map howitzers. The TOE calls for 105mm, but they aren't available on map and are way lamer than the on map pieces. They also have access to medium and light mortars, when the latter are used correctly they are really devastating. The Russians have slightly smaller infantry squads, but their troops have 2-3 automatic troops per 9 man rifle squads. They are 1-2 SMG and 1 DP trooper per squad. The platoons also have a sniper section. I cut out the SMG platoons that the companies came with, so each only has 2 platoons with 8 rifle squads total. The Russians have more battalions per regiment, better equipped squads (Historically inaccurate but I couldn't get them to be primarily rifles, Russians had significant rifle production issues.. And the partisans come with little ammunition so they were off the drawing board), and have access to powerful offmap 122mm howitzers. They have twice the amount of 76mm guns as the Germans but they don't have access to the on map artillery. So each side has it's drawbacks. Each side could be a little more historically accurate. But this seems to be a fun balance between the two sides. If anyone can dig up some TOE resources for either side that would be appreciated. It's near impossible to find any resources on WW1 that isn't in a book. 19. Jagdtiger is available for Wehrmacht starting from Jan 1st 1945.
  20. Though they are all able to call in artillery despite being out of range of their HQs. Weird, I didn't think the Germans simulated telephone wires like the Soviets did.
  21. Kriegsmarine platoon (who is moving) is able to be in contact with Battalion HQ when they are 1km away. Platoon HQ does not have a radio. Battalion HQ is indicated by picture #2. Company HQ is on map in the far right corner.
  22. Yeah these are the Soviets right ? My original post was on the Germans being able to call in artillery without having comms. I dont think they were using telephone cables in april/may of 1945. I dont think the rest of the Germans are able to do this.
  23. He was just making a joke. The Kriegsmarine seem to have an issue though.
