  1. I don't want the thread locked, and I almost never play as Germans, but I'd imagine the scratch SS formations that fought in the last stages of the war will very likely be modeled, and I'm sure that would be adequate to represent SS police units - all you have to do is name them in your scenario.
  2. In fairness, there are those of us who find playing the Germans a bit boring. I much prefer playing Soviets, Commonwealth, even Americans...
  3. That sounds like a fun game - you should do an AAR some time
  4. The AI sometimes does things a human player would never do. The dangerous part is after the crew exit though...
  5. If you can get within grenade range of an unsupported tank with infantry, killing it is almost too easy - realistic for sure, but when playing the AI I don't like to smoke the tank and attack with infantry because it's so easy there's little fun in it.
  6. I loved the Axis allies, especially the Hungarians, in CMBB, so if the fans keep asking, at least it is an indication to the developers that the interest is there. I would probably buy anything the company would release though, so I don't know how indicative that is of the broader market... (The Finns were fascinating too, in the early war setting.)
  7. I don't know about vehicles and buildings, but I know they have said there won't be Axis allies in the module. When forces are added, Battlefront always seem to do it extremely well and in extraordinary detail, and somewhere in some thread somewhere it was said that that was beyond what they could do for this module, although there was a vague vague vague suggestion that the door might be open for German allies to be added in the future in some form.
  8. That's exactly why it's better to use something nimble and cheap for exploitation..!
  9. ACs are for exploitation - when you knock out the last tank, they can race in and start massacring the infantry...
  10. The script was terrible, but the battle scenes are extraordinary...
  11. I admit I find your modded setup a little unusual - but modding as one sees fit is part of the pleasure of the game. It certainly showcases the thrill of a good Real Time game (at which you seem very skilled). Nice video...
  12. I understand your frustration. The editor is pretty amazing, but the more you get into it, the more you wish it could do lots of other things. I'd love to see more variety in most of the constructions (different buildings, fences and so on), roads and fences with curves and different angles, more control over water, etc etc etc. But having said that, it's still a pretty fabulous tool, one which greatly expands the playing possibilities of the game.
  13. That was great! And it looks marvelous - thanks
  14. If they had a sound contact, but no visual contact, and it was not something that happened often, I wouldn't be too worried. Firstly, we all know there is a high degree of randomness in the game, which is as it should be; and secondly, in RL, infantry in proximity to a tank would be trying very hard not to be seen themselves, so between those two factors, I would just put it down down to luck rather than a bug.
  15. I don't consider it a bug - I see it as a result of my aggressive, impatient playing style. It's only a game after all...
  16. Yeah - Sim City was a perfect example of a game that ended up going into too much detail and got boring. I'm glad Battlefront have kept the balance right...
  17. I play mostly Commonwealth forces, and I've noticed something similar. In the case where a section or team is hit by something random, like a shell or long-range fire, the spread of casualties is usually completely random. When the troops are advancing, the gunner seems slightly more likely to be hit, which is probably because the gunner is the one looking for a firing position; when the section is attacking or at close quarters, the submachinegunner is at most danger. It kind of makes sense, and I have read that junior officers and NCOs historically took more casualties in battle - I usually split of an assault team from the section and hold it back to stop the section leader 'leading from the front'.
  18. Thanks Yeah, I was a big Sim City addict back in the day...
  19. Sorry for the indulgence chaps... Still working on these maps and I'm just amazed at what a beautiful job the Map Editor does - amazing software. I just wanted to share some of them with you (JPGs this time)...
