  1. Sorry, I don't know why they aren't displaying - I was careful to set " dl=1 " because I've made that mistake in the past...
  2. Hmmm.. they're on dropbox and they're PNGs - I need to remember to save as JPG but I always forget and the Mac defaults to PNG
  3. My pleasure, guys I love playing with the editor...
  4. Here we go https://www.dropbox.com/s/9garry91kpdf5ql/Frey_CMFI_Maps_BETA_01.zip?dl=1 These are some of the slices, as well as the master maps. The master maps have no AI or setup zones. The slices have defender AI only for attack maps, and AI plans each way (usually only one at the moment) for the ME maps. When making the maps, I tried to think only of what looked like realistic rural terrain, with no thought to how they might play. Then I tried to pick interesting slices for the QB maps. It's still a work in progress - and now that I am becoming more confident with the AI, there will be many more to follow - but have fun and let me know if you enjoy them. [oops - download link fixed I hope]
  5. If you're interested, here are some slices of other QB maps, set as 'tiny' size, which I have been playing in RT and having a jolly time. I've been focusing on the more developed agricultural land more typical of the North - the QB maps that come with CMFI seem to better represent the under-developed south.
  6. I've been working on a series of QB maps - starting with large-huge base maps, which I am slicing up, adding AI plans, to make QB maps of various sizes. It's still in progress, but I have been quite pleased with the latest base map, around 2.5km square, of rolling cropland. There is lots of patchy scattered cover, but also frequent avenues of long-range LOS. I found the result of this latest one quite picturesque... The land descends gently from the north, through gently rolling fields. As it descends, there are occasional low escarpments, offering views of the surrounding countryside. Scattered amongst the fields, there are one or two patches of open woodland. Spend the afternoon wandering pretty shaded paths. The roads are generally good in this part of Italy. And here and there are some delightful Italian farmhouses and farm complexes. Some of them are quite modern. Others with a historical feel. For the well-heeled businessman, or an ex-GI flush with looted Nazi treasure, enjoy a stay in this charming part of Italy...
  7. I didn't know you could do this... He picked up the 2" mortar from the bren carrier and he's using it as a grenade launcher from inside a building. He needs to be careful with his aim though - he nearly fragged the CO...!
  8. You have no manners. I bet you're rude to waitresses too.
  9. I agree too - this sort of fascinating miscellany is what keeps me coming back to this forum. (Well, that and @Bud Backer's comics...)
  10. I don't recall ever seeing anything spectacular from a Mills bomb, but I've seen a potato masher kill 4-5 at a time...
  11. Exciting stuff! ...and beautiful screenshots...
  12. I'd imagine it's a little late in the day to be adding a new item as specific as this, but it sounds like a cool idea and it would be great to see it as part of maybe a vehicle pack later...
  13. ...even I got that reference, so it must have been pretty obvious... Can we please not spoil this thread by descending into the same tired grudge match - can't you guys go and fight a duel somewhere...?
  14. That's a wonderful site - I love the underwater plane wreck models...
  15. I wouldn't play it every battle, but when I'm in the mood, urban battles are fabulous fun. I think CM handles them well, any more micro-managing would be arduous - they're exciting and the slaughter is sometimes horrendous.
  16. They'd certainly be fun, but not really a 'must have'... On a lighter note, I manage to argue politics and history with friends and strangers all over the world on a number of different Social Media channels, and yet still not bring any of it into this forum. ...be like Freyberg...
  17. I didn't know that ! That's a nice frame in hi res - the silhouette just vaguely visible in the smoke...
  18. Cool story - and those are great images, well chosen for action and they look lovely
