Yes. And between all those new QB maps and the upgrade of the whole QB system to work the same way as the rest of the current titles, that alone is worth the upgrade, IMO!

Originally Steve said CMSF2 was going to 'just' be CMSF1 upgraded to the latest game engine.
    Then 'mission creep' set in.
Now all of the art as been swapped out, the TO&E rebuilt from scratch, The scenarios thoroughly updated and beautified, with fresh AI plans put in. There's new on-map mortars, AA missiles, plus AA guns that work. The soldiers have new models and new uniform textures. And let's not forget trenches, fox holes, barbed wire, water, bridges and amphibious capability. Plus something Steve said he wouldn't do - added vehicles! US Army  and Marines, Brit and German now have on-map mortar vehicles. Also those 'speculative' Syrian T-72 types from CMSF1 have been rebuilt into verified Syrian T-72 types. And lets not forget the biggest thing of all - the fully function upgraded Quick Battle system with (last count) 243 new maps!  So saying its 'just' a game engine upgrade isn't doing it justice.

Scenarios updated with upgraded maps, better and more AI plans, and in some cases force changes for better play/balance. Same scenarios are there, but in many cases will be a new experience.

I would think once a day max would do it.  Unless like us beta testers you like to get in on the competition to be first to download each new build. 🙂

Game development updates don't really mean much. Game engine work is across the board so that's no indication. BFC has an impressive list of stuff nearing the final stages of completion after several years of work, there's a LOT that is 'almost done'. The CMSF2 project had unexpectedly  jumped the queue so became the first to get completed. After CMSF2 drops I do not know which of the 'almost done'  projects will switch to 'all-hand-on-deck' next. I could flip a coin and tell you the results., that would be as valid as any 'estimate'.

It's a natural log function, which is asymptotic, like radioactive half life.  Half of the remainder is decayed away in the next half-life time period. But as you show, it's never all gone (because the numbers of atoms in anything are eye-watering - law of large numbers says those random decays even out over large numbers of atoms - hence why half life is accurate even though decay is a random probabilistic process).

Another engineering axiom.   There is "Good",  "Cheap", and "On Time"  You may have any 2, but NOT the third.

I was in real life (a cannon cocker - FIST Chief, Btry Fire Direction Officer, Bde Fire Support Officer, and Arty Bn Fire Direction Officer). Although it's been a while, for preplanned fires your comment about delay times, from my experience, is the case. The fires would be timed toward expected movements. Having things in 5, 10, 15 minute intervals is about as close as you could think of for someone arriving at a specific location, or be ready to jump off from a LD while the fires are underway.  I get the point about "gaminess" thinking that it's 5 minutes into the game so take cover, but I never timed anything to the minute.
For on-call fires of course, we would calculate and get rounds downrange ASAP.  That is UNLESS the call for fire requested some particular time on target. That would be a very unusual situation though. Normally on-call CFF is someone in need of assistance NOW!!

Ultradave reacted to MikeyD in CMBS bugs - are these fixed in relation to the new CMSF2? ( weapons ports etc )
CMBS Abrams (and other vehicles) is equipped with a laser warning device. I believe the CMSF2 Abrams isn't so equipped. The upside is your Abrams is more likely to stand and fight. The downside is its more likely to be unexpectedly hit by something nasty. Tactically speaking, if you're getting lazed by something hostile and unknown you've already got yourself into a bad position. In the game, nothing panics a vehicle crew more than being fired on by an unknown, unseen attacker.

It is also not a beta tester job per se either.  BF has enlisted folks to test the game and look for stuff, but that doesn't make us the go to guy for anything anyone finds.  We are players just like anyone else and our time is no different than anyone else's  We don't get to charge by the hour to run huge numbers of tests looking for something that may be an extreme outlier. Any player is just as capable of doing verification as we are.  The request for saves is a requirement for BF to even consider looking at it.  So if you see something and don't save it, might as well not bother posting about it.  Kind of like trying to tell people you saw a UFO but you didn't bother trying to take a pic with that smart phone you were texting everyone to tell them about the UFO you just saw.  Beta testers are more than happy to help bring an issue to BF's attention, but it really makes a difference if we have something to start with other than "I saw a UFO".

The only place I have seen the Northern lights was at 35,000 feet on a flight from SFO to Europe.  Freakin amazing and as I looked around the plane everyone else was dozing.  I was so tempted to tell the stewardess Wake everyone up! then figured they'd probably just get pissed at me.

I grew up in Hartland.  Kids either went to UMaine or MMA out of high school (Nokomis HS).  I managed to get out of cycle.  My Dad lived on the Dexter/Corinna line.  He literally lived on Line Rd.  Also known as the middle of nowhere.

Interesting, you should also know that the reason our accounts were not fully migrated over is likely because the old site did not store our passwords. That has been the state of the art in security for a long time now. Password test values are stored has salted hashes. That way if the database is compromised an attacker's cannot get plain text or even hashed password values. It is also why password reset features either send you a new random pw or takes you to a UI to set a new one - the site cannot tell you what your pw was.
So, if someone sent you your password in plain text you have bigger problems than one site. I would check for malware and key loggers on your end and then reset all your pws.
