Oh yes, I would love to scoop that up for use!
Thanks for your suggestions. I did watch a video of you playing CMFI and it had older mods where I used a c instead of a k I THINK. [africa] and now I use [afrika] to help spot the older mods. The Stuart was an early attempt at a "Caunter paint scheme" and it reminded me of long ago when I knew a bit less for image modding.
My trouble is I have a ton of other modtags going on such as the below...
[folgore] specialty mod to try and represent Italian parachute troops, helmet mod and some other stuff
[wadi] specialty use terrain and road mod to show muddy tracks through a wet wadi
    [greif] Rommel's halftrack
[aussie] specialty ui for Australian slouch hat BEFORE Australians were added to CMFI
[busharty] specialty mod that gave Australians some Italian guns at Tobruk
[aussietank] specialty mod that gave Australians some Italian tanks with Kangaroo insignia
[kasserine] specialty mod for Kasserine area scenarios
[saltmarsh] speciality mod for some Tunisia scenarios
[birakroma] mod to bring a mosque into CMFI
[valentine] mod to turn Stuart into Valentine
[concrete] terrain mod for some emplacements at Tobruk
[italiangermans] mod to make German troops appear Italian for certain scenarios
[afrikaopelkadet] this brought the CMRT opel Kadet into CMAK2 in place of the US jeep
[sangar] trying to mod the sandbag thingy to look like stacked rocks a la sangars
[brazilaustralians] mod to bring in Brazil 37mm and crew but look like 1941 Aussies
[kopz4] Blender modded wreck of KO pz4 as a sequence of junk flavor objects
[re sunhelmet] pitbull's Italian Army desert uniforms with my sun helmet Blender mod
[captured] a speciality mod that allows axis use of captured British vehicles with crosses
[sbeitla] some roadsign mods and other foliage mods for Tunisia
[pav] speciality mod for a particular desert Italian army unit uniform style
[tracks] a road mod to try and show tank tracks behind a vehicle for looks
[m1340] Blender mod to make an Italian tank
[birhakeim] specialty mod to try and show French in North Africa

Anyway, these are all specialty mod cases based on my writing a scenario that tries to be a certain situation. One thing I did do recently is just try to roll these folders up into my own brz files. Just to make it seem simpler for the player wanting to give my scenarios a try. I goofed up when I also rolled up with the modtagged files was the non-modtagged cases and had a blanket undesired changes to soldier names. I figured that out eventually. One thing I need to do is go back and add a designer's notes to all my Afrika scenarios that specify the modtags being used and what they do. For my own tracking and also so the player can check if they have those mods loaded in their CMFI z folder.

Some mods are not modtagged because they will be loaded BEFORE a scenario even loads.
If they are in your z, they ALWAYS will load as the game loads and are not scenario specific.
This can be music you hear during start up, some UI stuff, also the names of soldiers text files and the unit script files.
One of these is a force selection mod I made that has a CMAK2 British 8th Army infantry vibe and an early DAK infantry vibe.
If you plan to play one of my Afrika scenarios, you might desire to pop this into your z BEFORE you start CMFI.
Then when NOT desired to be seen, you pluck it out of your CMFI z folder and stash somewhere outside CMFI z folder.

I need to basically rip open my CMFI CMAK2 Afrika mods to analyze them and make sure they work. This thread will be that. Done in front of others that are helping me @Vacillator and in front of smart(er) people than me that might have time to drop by and give advice to help consolidate stuff from their own experience with a TON of mods. @37mm

I don't know how many people play CMCW compared to the other CM titles. But apart from that CMCW is really about mechanized warfare with large formations. The WW2 titles are fun with just a company or less on both sides but for CMCW to really shine we are talking battalion level with plenty of room to stretch your legs and have those long engagement ranges. That means large maps and making those can be really daunting task. The teaser image above is from a 1840m x 2560m map.

Chris gets first blood. A scout car with a .50 cal pegged one of my Sahariana AT wagon guys.
He is dropping smoke near the objective. Perhaps he has a Fast Group enroute...some Bren carriers or jeeps maybe?
My assault group disembarks from the Fiats...in a defilade position.
That one officer looks like he maybe dropped his St Christopher medal?
Sunhelmets look so great. @boygarvin 's uniforms are so awesome. aka pitbull. Thanks buddy.

Korea 1950 is a personal project. I know there is not much interest out there so I doubt I will muster the energy to do AI plans. I will enjoy the PBEMs versus human opponents.
France 1940: I have maybe 4 scenarios left to do. They are low priority for me right now but I am sure I will get to them eventually.
Barbarossa: I don't see myself doing anything new there.
North Afrika: I have some ideas but I think they will be for my own PBEMs versus human opponents like you Tim! @Vacillator

I do not own CMBS. I played the demo and thought I had an LP on 45rpm.
    @JM Stuff
Is it just like the other WW2 titles and you grab the next highest number in the Flavor Object category?
I am trying to assist a guy with his Ukraine projects...
I am clueless for CMBS... Is there just the base game folder of flavor objects or have some been added in a module or patch?
    Thanks

I made a simple icon for CMFI Korea 1950...
Next to it is the icon for CMFI CMAK2 that @Blazing 88's made me.
Elsewhere on my desktop I have an icon for CMFI France 1940.

kohlenklau reacted to Schrullenhaft in Where are the CM2 demos?
Just to provide the links to the Demo pages for each game with a demo. CM Cold War (CMCW) does NOT have a demo unfortunately, but each of the other games does. The demos are NOT Engine 4, which is available for each game except CMA; so they don't show the latest improvements, though there is not a massive difference with earlier engines. CMSF2 and CMBN do have module content within the Demo. The other games do not have module content (such as CMFI). Browsing for the links you will find them on the Store page for each game's main engine, within the left hand 'Game Info' column:

Today in a few hours I go to say probably my last goodbye to a dear friend. His wife said the cancer has spread all over and he is in pain even with the fentanyl patch at 100. Del is age 90 and served during the Korean War. He never made it over to Korea but spent a couple years blowing up trees to turn Camp Stewart, Georgia into a tank training center. As a corporal, he ran the armory for his Engineering Company. A great story of his, and he has a ton, is when a young officer, butter bar O-1, was turning in a .45 and it went off INSIDE the armory. The bullet passed down through Del's pants leg. Cloth only. No blood spilled. The company commander chewed the officer out AFTER Del had his chance.
My CM Korea Mod is dedicated to Corporal Delma Ware, US Army.

I gotta make some Korean skins. Luckily, I have a little experience making skins when I made 1940's "negro"/black/African-American soldiers for the [buffalo] mod. It wasn't really that hard to do. I had a lot of fun with that one as I grabbed the online faces of Denzel Washington, Chris Rock, etc. I then mixed and matched eyes to noses and lips for some expansion of the number. I also changed the tone up or down to get some extras. I will just do the same I suppose.
The NKPA summer 1950 uniform is just a slight alteration of the Red Army uniform, but in a yellowish color - except for the sneakers! And the funky cap.
I need a UI image for the portrait and branch. I need ranks. It all is probably out there on the interweb.

As a side project, in my spare, spare time, I am gonna start to see what I might be able to create for portraying "The Forgotten War"...
Obviously BFC will never ever do it. Obviously I am limited for what can be portrayed.
    Fake Lobster Kimchee anyone?
Does anyone have a computer wargame with Korean language combat sounds?
We can perhaps get those sound files and process to be our voices for CM Korea.
I already started a scenario: "Task Force Smith".
CMFI is the current base platform.
    US is the US.
British will be the North Koreans.
    T-34/85 is the Sherman IIa.
If you want to join the mod team, give me a PM.

LET US DO THIS AGAIN! I give everybody quite a bit of time. Make a scenario for the community.
The 3rd time is the charm is this year's motto!
    Alright, 105 days until X-mas. (Julian 358-263=105).
Let us swamp the community with some scenarios. Use or modify an existing map if you need to (and give polite credit in your briefing or designers notes to prevent accusations of being a dreaded parasite!). Make your own simple map! Use the new CM AutoEditor? No Rembrandts are required! Dial it down to 208 x 208, if needed, the teeniest tiniest map you can make. ANY SIZE MAP IS GOOD! That's what she said! Playable from only one side is AOK. Just make sure to say that guidance in the main cover description. Use just a tiny force. Put the AI on defence and the AI plan is EASIER! Use just a small timeframe of 10 minutes!  I (and a butt ton of others) am here to lend a hand to answer questions or go now and read the famous JonS scenario guide pdf in your main install folder. All these different titles can use some new juices. I got a couple coming down.
Or whatever size map and time you want!
In 2021 we got between 16 and 20 new scenarios.
In 2022 we got 14 new scenarios.
I am not a CMCW, CMSF2, CMBS modern war bubba but please use this as a reason to make a scenario for those games. This is not just for WW2 games.
Best wishes and who wants to post a pledge to make a scenario?
