I am dabbling around in my spare time with a rudimentary Hungarian mod.
    To hopefully support Team Nyakleves...

Sequoia kindly reminded me...(50 years old is way too soon for Alzheimer's!) that CMBB had Hungarian voice files already!

Working on a greatcoat...[WIP]...I will change the German Y-straps to Russian style brown leather Sam Browne and cloth fabric belts.

I will also do maybe a StuG and/or PzIV.

New uniforms! I sure hope we get some new mdr skeletons.

Maybe, right at this very moment, somewhere, some wonderfully talented sweetheart of a guy is working on this file?

Lots of room here for some great 3D art achievements that can kill all the winter birds with one stone.

GI cap. German toque. Mittens. L.L.Bean shoepacks.

Luftwaffe greatcoat under a 3/4 length camo jacket?

Bulky outfits mdr skeletons made now can have skins to be the quilted east front stuff for Soviets later with the CMRT module....
..I would never ever ever be in a hurry and file swap to get them into CMRT before that...

So, I am sending out engraved invitations to many folks to come and participate even if for just one battle.
Matching stationery and envelope, an inner envelope, fancy calligraphy in silver ink with an RSVP!
Most everybody at first cringes,.. "Not another damn wedding to buy a gift for! How many toasters does a guy have to buy in one life?"

No! Only kidding. Just by PM...

The approach to this CMPzC Operation is going to be totally relaxed.
No AAR will be required from any player at all.
I will use this post to tell about things as through FOW shrouded view of say a Canadian News reporter with ties to the allied high command as he sips whiskey with the Divisional commander.

If nobody steps up to be the Canadian CO, I will decide the Canadian moves based on history and standard tactics.

    The Allies:

12th Armoured Regiment (lineage from the Three Rivers Regiment)

Royal 22nd Regiment (The Van Doos).

Note: I am not an expert on the Canadian Army, if any of this gets cocked-up, please forgive me and press the semi-fiction button.
But like most scenario writers I am aiming to portray with respect and honor the horrendous events around Ortona in December 1943.

    The Axis:

    1st FJ Division

    90th Panzer Grenadier Division

    65th Infantry Division

Pardon me. I seem to recall seeing someone here say they were working on a Canadian Army Moro River Campaign or some such. I asked a few Canadian fellows if it was them but got bad indications I suffer from early senility. I even did a forum search "Moro". But it was a no go.

Anyways. Whoever you are, if you need/want my help, please PM me. Thanks.

kohlenklau got a reaction from Parker Schnabel in Operational level campaign completed.
    Hi Denis,

These are my personal views from my experience over the last few years. Take them as they are worth.

I have been involved in several CMPzC Operations before and now presently have 1 going on with friends in CMFI (almost finished soon! We are attacking the final objective, Ribera, Sicily) and 1 in progress in CMBN "The Road to Eindhoven" and 3 new ones in the formulation phase.

Interest: I have seen initial interest in this back a few years ago. Now I consider interest as surprisingly low based on number of people replying back in the threads or asking to participate. I checked my breath, minty fresh from toothpaste every morning! I checked my socks and also other body odor areas. I don't think it is me! I thought maybe it was because I asked for an AAR with photos as entertainment, like a cover charge to enter the club? Maybe that is the issue? So, now recently when I invite participants I clearly say I have dropped that requirement and we can see if interest picks up. Some folks do like to just be PBEM foot soldiers and not have to be involved with the orders and decisions above the level of a CM battle. I understand their desire, they are busy and have maybe some time to read the thread that says how the big picture battle is going and make some nice inputs but not a mandatory commitment to guide it and monitor it.

Overall, I am hopeful to see participation increase as I drop the AAR requirement and simplify the Operations to have folks clearly see they can just swing in to play a CM battle.

I personally like to dial the size way down so we can finish the operation in a smaller time.
Congratulations to you to complete your ambitious Operation. I can see it must be a very good feeling to finally see it concluded
and the 24 page booklet is very nice.

I wish you good luck with your project and I hope you get lots of folks to participate.
I will keep an eye on this thread.

I need: new horizons, sky/sea only view for certain sectors!

I need: modded Italians for invasion troops.

I need: discarded FJ parachutes for dropzones. GOT THEM! (thanks juju)

modded PzIII for this timeframe, summer 42. ?

Initial testing seems fun! Kriegsmarine "barges" have flak guns, etc. Out farther to sea.  Then closer in we have the landing barges with troops, trucks, tanks. Shallow and deep ford areas we have our foot troops making there way to shore and wading tanks and other vehicles. Some beam in as R groups as best for the initial assault or follow on waves.

Ashore, we have Royal Malta Artillery. British troops.

Kieme has nicely provided some modded buildings to better match Malta style.
borg is helping with maps as an actual Maltese from Malta. We just need the Falcon and we are all set!

Having a lot of fun making this campaign. Right now I am trying to refine the AI on the first battle. I have got a little feedback from others but as I played it myself I see what needs fixed. Plus here is what the latest TacMaps look like. I enjoy making this stuff and I like the latest look!

kohlenklau got a reaction from Odin in CMPzC Operation for CMRT: Anybody interested?
The CMPzC concept uses PzC for the operational movement and some fire/assaults but the main switch to CM PBEM H2H settles the assaults/attacks and probes on the 1kmx1km hexes (we use 1.2kmx1.2km maps for a buffer zone around the edge). There really isn't a battle to predesign in the usual sense.

Minimum people per side depends on the size of the Operation and how much each person can handle for PBEMs and AAR work in the threads. The intention is that this is also entertaining for the forum. A reasonable steady amount of enhanced Screenshots, commentary and maybe the new style embedded Video AAR's are highly encouraged/desired. If someone just goes off and plays a PBEM for a few weeks and then reports back. I won or I lost, it is not so much the big smile for the coordination work put into it. A very small CMPzC Op could perhaps be played as 1 or 2 against 1 or 2. With some amount of umpire assistance, not always necessary if the opponents have a good track record and are comfortable playing without a 3rd person to edit files after battles. Sidenote: A software project is underway to automate some of the editing in a manner which maintains FOW.

kohlenklau got a reaction from Odin in "CMPzC Campaign: The Road to Eindhoven".....are you interested?
OK, here is what I am thinking...

I have the John Tiller Panzer Campaigns (PzC) Market Garden '44 (MG'44) and I wrote this PzC scenario "The Road to Eindhoven"...

Outline: 0600-1800, 18 September 1944. PzC turns are 2 hours. So 6 turns total. Not too long and not too short. Any assaults/attacks/probes would be acted out using CMBN-MG (bound to be several!).

Objective: We want to see some cool PBEM AAR action, screenshots and commentary...in this here BFC forum.

Needed: dedicated personnel who can see it through to completion, who can host photos or video, who can run an AAR thread with some minor photoshop-type work to make it nice.

Goal: have fun and be good sports. There is a working set of rules.

If you are interested, please PM me if you have hosted your own photos, have experience to do imagery to show your battle intentions and if you are a dedicated PBEM (CM Helper & dropbox experienced) opponent who has steadily swapped turns until the battle was done.

    Thank you.

kohlenklau got a reaction from Bulletpoint in Why are milestone signs in CMBN MG random? :-(
I modded me a cool Valkenswaard milestone sign in place of "Lent". All happy and ready to plop it on my Valkenswaard map.
I loaded my map and in the 2D editor for flavor objects milestones I only see a "1" and a  "2" for picks. Oh boy. I am used to like many more. Oh well, let me plop a bunch down and then 3D preview and delete all the others that are NOT mine. So I happily did.
But then reloaded the map and it says ARNHEM.
I am used to CMFI and if you plop a sign down there then it will always say the same thing each reload of the map.
It is new to me that CMBN MG seems to treat the milestone signs like those posters and just randomly deal them out like cards?
    WTF?
This is very disappointing for me. I hope somehow I have misunderstood this.
Who thought that was a good ideal?
Now I gotta go and edit an mdr and ...
