1. Clearly I do not speak for Steve but here are my thoughts. The trouble with torrents is anyone can get one started and off it goes. I could take their installer tweak it so it runs my installer first and does all kinds of stuff to *your* computer that I might benefit from and then run the regular installer. How do you know if you are downloading my modified version or the real thing? If they are clear that their files are not distributed via torrents then any torrents out there is not from BFC. No mystery no one would trust the torrent version. If they do an official torrent version then my fake one might actually get some traction and BFC really has no way of stopping me. Yes, I know they could publish CRC check sums so customers could tell which was which but how many people really know what to do with that? If they do not have an official torrent then there is no confusion.
2. Oh yeah I thought the vending machines were entertaining for sure. Hey, the hay is like vending machine for farm animals, right. Is an update in the works?
3. 152mm artillery spotting round? Ravens are pretty small now big was the explosion? But yes air assets do some times crash on map.
4. Someone said this poll has had very few responses We are not at 145 - lets see some more.
5. Not sure I qualify as an expert but I'll take a shot. I have no idea - see told ya. I think the dismount command is something you can give to vehicles not squads. I would try just giving them an order t some where else and see if they do it. Try a test with a bunker and a squad and give them an order to move after a few minutes and see what they do. Hummm I do not think it is random but you get no control over it. My experience is they tend to preserve squad weapons like MG42s but there is no real guarantee that I can see. I am pretty sure what you see when you deploy is what you get though. Nope
6. I agree with @Baneman there is no need for the Allied player to be under the impression it is going to be easy. They *should* be cautious driving through those roads wondering where the enemy is.
7. The link to CM Helper is the old version. I'll try to find the new one unless Green as Jade beats me to it. I also have turn management program: Whose Turn Is It? - link in my sig (both a PC and a Mac version) Edit that was harder than I thought. Looks like the correct link to CMHelper is https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jvh9sx2zla2k0eq/S6LZaVAw_7
8. This is really nice - thanks. I think I found a mistake though. On page 12 the picture for Strt lt 1 and Strt lt 2 are identical. I have not checked in game but that does not look correct.
9. Well that's two people I don't know if there are many ideas that two people like - I think there is multiple ideas per person not the other way around
10. 2112 I don't see that number. I think spoiled it by point it out
11. You don't know... Oh wait you said not to do that. OK how's this: I hope they get around to doing it too it would be really nice actually. There are so many things people want them to do (see my sig ) the list of stuff to do is huge. They have to decide what order to do things in. All we can do is emplore away
12. Well I'll be damned I was just about to write that you were wrong when I check the manual first and found this: I do not remember seeing that in the scenario editor - mind you I never looked for it either. I know what I'm doing to night...
13. Based on what @sburke said the we believe you would need to buy the CMFI+GL bundle and then the v3 engine upgrade to get totally up to date. I have no idea how big the downloads are. I have them lying around on a HD at home so I could answer you later - but I would have to remember so don't hold your breath 'cause you might die An up to date CMFI install says it is version 1.2.
14. Alternative ways of finding ford locations are: Select a vehicle and a movement command, now hover over the river and see the Ghost Buster symbol and drag it around until you see the OK symbol - you found a ford. Drop to camera level one and get into the water. Swim around you will see fords pretty readily. I actually do #2 quite a lot the first time I am looking at a new map.
15. I'll PM you instructions - oh wait At the very top of the page towards the right hand side in the black bar at the top there is an open letter icon. That's the place where you can get to your PMs. See circled button in this screen shot.
16. ^^^ this. It varies a lot with terrain too. In the open you will see quite well under light tree cover you will still see lots of vehicles but might not see all the infantry. In the woods you might not see much. Also the one that sees what the UAV sees is the FO that is managing the mission. If they are connected with one of those nifty battle field management systems then other connected command elements will often get to see some of the stuff too but over the regular radio net your units will only get ? icons. Which is still helpful as they move into new areas because it means they will spot fully quicker.
17. For Russian FOs they have to have a lazer designator, you have to have a 120mm mortar or 122mm or 152mm artillery (they are the only ones with precision rounds), you have to pick Point target and then Precision should show as an option in the list of Heavy, Medium, Light etc.
18. Ah, yeah that is a pain point. I have used it to take out a M1s before (out of the battle at least). But if they can slip away then you are out of luck for sure.
19. Hey all you spoiler guys check this out: I noticed someone doing it in another thread and used the light switch to crack what they are doing. I do not see a way to do it in the WYSIWYG interface but if you flip the light switch in the top left of the tool bar the editor changes to simple text with codes showing and they you can create your own spoiler code section by typing this by hand:
put your cool spoiler here...
Warning it does not show quite the same in the WYSIWYG editor but check the preview to make sure it is working. Enjoy!
20. Glad to be of help - you are kicking my ass helping people over the last few days though - I keep reading posts and composing responses in my head as I finish the thread only to find a post form you already sitting there saying pretty much what I was going to say. BTW you need an avatar
21. So far the examples I have seen "threatened" was "hit by". In so many cases in CMBS that would mean there would be no one left to drop the target arc and respond Indeed if you cannot drive into position facing where you want this is the way I would do it. It is very rare though, I much prefer to come out of cover in already facing the "correct" direction. And I agree the whole turret/tank body dance of aiming, moving, aiming, moving, until KO'ed is sooooo much better now in the v3 engine and with the much faster tanks speeds in CMBS I don't think I have seen a tank mess up once, so far.
