  1. For get refresh monkeys - you want trunk monkeys:
  2. Indeed. Most of the time they seem to manage to drive around mine though. I agree that would be a bug - I'll add that to my list of stuff to watch for. No there are more then one mine in an action square of AT mines - I do not know how many but more than one.
  3. Nice I just tested using armour just to see if bridges could be targeted and destroyed - yep. I was doing other things and just added in some destroying of bridges so no guns on hand to play with. I was able to destroy a bridge with an AFV still on it - destroyed the tank too when it fell. Cool. Thanks @womble now I do not need to set up a scenario with guns.
  4. Awesome run down. Things get trickier when guys in your hedge row cannot see the next hedge row (due to a hump in the ground). I usually put that into the "get some help" category. Or go a different way. You can move into the field and use the hump but that means when your guys are shooting they have no protection at all so if you go that route you really need to make sure you have a lot more guys then the enemy.
  5. I think one of the road blocks for people creating a campaign is they look at the effort to create a scenario and multiply that by X and get scared off. What you are doing by providing coordination is perfect. I wish I had time to pitch in too. Perhaps one day...
  6. Looking good. Just looking for clarification these snow and frosty vehicles do they only appear in games where there is snow on the ground? Or is it all the time?
  7. No, no imagination, that is pretty close to correct. The default graphics are a dark red skull and cross bones inside a circle for dead - buddy aiding them is fairly quick and only a case of "going through his pockets". For a seriously injured soldier the graphic is a red X inside a circle - buddy aiding them takes time because presumably they are trying to save their friend.
  8. Oh sure routing units. But I thought we were talking about your units that accidentally got to close to the edge. Guess I misunderstood.
  9. I think he meant were the guns looking at the bridge from the side on and low down? In that case I could see there being an issue of getting a LOF to the bridge deck. The cases I have seen bridges destroyed the tanks where very much on one side or the other of the bridge looking "down the road". Either way it would be worth firing up the game and checking it out. Which I might remember to do tomorrow some time
  10. Probably not quite: There had to be a specified exit edge - and only one edge in CM1. Not all scenarios had them.
  11. Wow, I never heard of that - interesting. from http://www.virtualvermont.com/history/staraid.html They managed to steal $200 000 from three banks but they failed to burn the town down. The Canadian authorities arrested them in Montreal and recovered $68 000 which was returned even though the perpetrators were not. Hummm I wonder where that extra money went :-) Interesting fun fact, as claimed by another site I read, the 21 Confederate soldiers assembled in Canada a few at a time by pretending to be going on "sporting vacation" to Canada.
  12. Edited - Oh man I should have read the entire thread before getting excited. It is a good idea though. Now silly looking reply left intact for all to see:D OMG are you serious? I did not know that. I keep doing all kinds of shenanigans to control their facing with covered arcs. What you describe is so easy - going to be doing that from now on. Yep.
  13. My confession deals with this. My opponent had a guy surrendering close ish to mine after a failed push. The problem was I could not get close enough to finish his surrender and his guys were too far away to convince him to get back into the fight. I brought a tank gun to bear and ordered some area fire to remove the intelligence leak. Back in CMBN 1.1 I had a member of a squad run off as the rest of his buddies were loading up in a truck. He just kept going and going and the truck kept waiting an waiting. Eventually I told my opponent were he was and asked him to take him out. Shortly after that the truck go going again
  14. Well I don't think I have anything to add for @Bulletpoint but based on your discussion about trees being annoying in the CMBN threads I would recommend Fortress Italy - and add on Gustov Line. Lets put it this way CMBN and CMRT I play with trees set to show trunks mode so I can actually see what my guys are up to. With CMFI I have trees fully on and for the most part I do not have to turn them off to see what is what.
  15. @slysniper covered what I was going to say. So I'll just say that in a QB I have not found placing large minefields cost effective. Once you pay for enough mines you do not have enough resources left to cover the mine field and protect what ever area you wanted to channel your enemy. That has been my experience anyway. However mines in scenarios can be a blast - or really frustrating. I am playing Seven Winds right now - yikes it has some serious mine fields.
  16. Yeah, the whole low bocage vs hedge issue was one of my first complaint posts - so far nothing has changed. In the end I just got used to it. Mistaking the gaps in low bocage still happens to me from time to time but I am better at spotting them now too.
  17. Interesting. Was this direct fire from infantry guns with LOS to the bridge? I have seen tanks target bridges directly before - I should make sure that still works...
  18. Interesting stuff - I get the sense there is more I am not sure I understand this. Probably because I don't know what a "bridge wing" is. Did this cause a small crisis because you did not have permission to conduct salvage in Italian territorial waters? You need permits for that:)
