  1. Has anyone put a consolidated list of which CMBN mods are compatible with CMFI? There are some comments posted acorss forums but just wondering what everyone has tested.
  2. I hate the Brixia mortar... but I was on the receiving end. Also one thing I noticed is the sound effects. Have the default sounds been changed or have I been playing with AKD's sound mod for to long?
  3. Bit of a forum lurker. Don't worry I've been playing CM since CMBO Beta Demo days and I'm used to threads like this, but ever time it hurts a little more.
  4. Very nice map, looking forward to holding that bridge in a scenario or two.
  5. It's times like this I thank God I'm single. I wish Battlefront could announce something like this everyday.
  6. http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/06/invade-syria-a-video-game-tested-that/ Combat Mission Shock Force gets some mainstream gaming media attention as a result of current world events. Worth a read.
  7. Combat Mission: Generic First Person Shooter! No? Oh thank god. Wait you know those little trailers fr the iPad versions of the game, anyone else notice a few shots from soldier view? Maybe soldier view will be implemented into the PC/Mac version. Great now I can look through the eyes of my soldiers who are behind a hedge.
  8. Just made my day! Good to see another Browncoat on these forums.
  9. Agree with sentiments above. Awesome scenario. Hats off to the author!
  10. Problem I've noticed is that when some (British in this case) tank commanders are shot at they just sit there for a while and don't button up immediatly. I'm hearing MG fire rattling off the Sherman's chasis and the commander is just sitting there enjoying a spot of tea. Sure enough the second or third burst takes him out. I don't mind higher mortality rates for tank commanders but surely even the most poorly or highly trained tank commander buttons up immediatly when he hear's a nearby rifle shot.
  11. Hats off from me as well. Colossal Crack, I'm 2/3rds the way through time wise and finding it a real challenge as the British. Though it's suicide, nothing like lining up a squadron of Shermans go up against that many Panthers.
  12. I say 2 weeks and 1 day. Just to mess with our calendars.
  13. Like above thank you Fuser brilliant work. Personally using mostly the alternatives and especially noticed the difference between the lack of corresponding mini-bitmaps. Looking forward to the add on. You're forgiven.
  14. There's also the issue that the majority of NATO and the US Governments have crippling levels of debt. Could they even afford to go to war? Look at the rate of debt rise under Pres. Bush Junior during Iraq. As mentioned above, going into Iran would be a much larger venture due to terrain and population. Unless Iran actually launched some kind of attack that was successful on a Western target, I don't think you'll see another war in the near future.
  15. I'm 27 and been playing CMgames since CMBO. CMx2 engine I switched to RT and found it hard to go back to WEGO. How fast things can happen in CMSF with modern weaponary I like (and need) the ability to pause the game. Really trying hard in CMBN to switch back to WEGO but find myself going RT more than others. PBEM for multiplayer is just convenient for me due to work commitments.
  16. Just posted to the recruiting forum over on FGM. Looking forward to hearing back.
  17. Absolutely awesome. Would love to play a campaign on a single map like this. Scope of it sort of reminds me of the Carentan campaign back in CMBO. A while ago you wanted to test video cards and this master map? Here is my computer specs, let us know if you want some help. i7 Quad Core 2.67ghz 6 mb RAM GTX580 Nivida Graphics Card (1.5gb of Vram) My copy of CMBN is kept on a 300 gb Raptor hard drive.
  18. Kotaku Australia has nominated games put up by their community for the 2011 awards and CMBN got through. Place your vote here: http://www.kotaku.com.au/2011/11/the-kotaku-awards-2011-vote-for-your-favourite-indiedownloadable-game/#more-476975 A bit tough competition though.
  19. Used buddy aid all the time in CMSF especially playing as Blue Force as I thought it was important for scenario scoring and for carrying troops over to other battles. A little bit wrong I know. But it would seem a little more accurate in a modern battle setting and the priorities of the soliders on the ground compared to the 1940's. In CMBN I rarely have time to worry about buddy aid.
