I don't recall if in the past anyone has given the reason for this, so I'll ask: What is it about the modular buildings that they can't have a destruction layer option like independent buildings do? The roofs have a damage mode. It sure would be nice to be able to have damaged walls as well.

German AA vehicle movement, won't reverse

Lol, I've done that many a time! -
The CM Theater thread! post cinematic RT vids here.

John, I don't believe there is any way to turn off bases, but after you TAB a unit to lock the camera on it, just Right Click on some part of the map with no units...the camera will stay locked on the unit without the base or UI showing (assuming that is what you are after). -

Is Tac's last name AI? I think I've played him before as well. Hope to see more of these mini movies, Bloody Bill! -
bug [Bug] Soldier running astray - replay available

I had a member of a German 3-man team/section (which included an MG42--don't recall if the AWOL dude was the assistant gunner or not) split off on his own in the recent Eindhoven AAR I played against Chappy Canuck. I kept moving the team forward, and the errant Landser kept angling off until he was nearly 30 AS away. When the original team finally got to cover, I kept giving them a movement order into the same AS they were located in. They of course would squiggle around, but stayed in place. Within 5 or 6 turns, the happy wanderer made it back to the team. That appears to be a possible workaround if it happens to you again. -
German AA vehicle movement, won't reverse
mjkerner replied to SlowMotion's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I use them alot, in pbem and in QB or home made scenarios, and have never had them not reverse when given that command. It may be user error, or maybe just an occasional glitch due to the terrain they are asked to reverse into??? -
Hmmm, that's different from my experience. The camera seems to be at a 1:1 ratio. No acceleration. Maybe it's a setting? I never bother with any camera settings (or at least haven't for years). I had a problem about a year ago with my wireless mouse, but don't remember what it was...don't think it was the problem you're having, maxium. Anyway, went back to a wired mouse, and it works fine.

BETA AAR- Spoiler- Discussion Thread
mjkerner replied to vincere's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
I reread Bil's comment, and think he wasn't saying Baneman was not skilled, but that he (Bil) wasn't not skilled either (double negatives, anyone?) and that Baneman's equipment beat him/his equipment that turn's face-off. Regardless, I'm enjoying the show! -

I think Bil was a bit disingenuous in stating that it wasn't skill, but the equipment, that caused the beating his armor took. Yes, Big Kitty is extremely dangerous to Hellcats and other living things but, come on, Baneman has been making good movement/positioning decisions as far as I'm concerned. -
Suggested reads for Bulge / Ardennes??
mjkerner replied to gnarly's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
Excellent recommendation, grunt, thanks! I just ordered the hardcover version for $45 from Amaozon. I have his Black Cross/Red Star series from my IL 2 Strumovik gaming days, and he is a stickler for detailed research and good maps and pics. -

for what it's worth, I did the same thing and have had no mouse problems since. -

Why no US/Brit allied nco's in the BMP files?

Hell, Steve, I think I got a bone from that one! -
I assumed that was Steiner again...glad he was banned. Slick, though...he "moved" from Germany to Orange County in about a day.... Thanks again for the Christmas bone, Chris. Lots of good stuff.

Hey Harry, I'm finally getting around to sending you my comments on the first 20 minutes or so (later today!). In the meantime, I hope it is OK to show an interesting little vignette around one of the bunkers. I split off an AT team from a German squad and left it in the bunker, while the rest of the squad died in and around the adjacent cellar/bunker (great mods and use of terrain and buildings, btw!), along with the HMG team there. The team stayed in Panic Mode throughout the action, which surprised me. I figured they would just hide and cower....

I knew it was a joint effort, but I was under the impression that you alone did the vehicles shown above. Well anyway, great job everyone!
