  1. Hot Damn that looks good, Sarge! I fervently hope that someday BFC will obtain the rights and update this to 4.0. I love SF2, and will have a blast with it for a long, long time, but still, CM:A is...Hot Damn!
  2. Yup, used sparingly it can help uniforms pop. Mord, too much "Sharpness" seems to make highlighted areas too "light" and just looks wrong. Not sure what makes the crinkling look.
  3. You must not have ever done any miniature "Imagi-nation" gaming, with made up countries based on real ones. I started modding the SF2 uniforms for make-believe African and Latin American misadventures as soon as it was released, but only for my own consumption. My standards are lower for my own use than it is for stuff intended for the public, though, so I'll need to spend more time on everything. And I meant it...I'm not in the Vein/benpark/MikeyD/Aris league by a long shot.
  4. It can be overused and look strange in game, even if it looks good on the texture bmp. Hell, there are so many manipulations you can use in Photoshop/Corel/Gimp/etc., it takes a lot of experimentation in my experience.
  5. Just reread your initial post, Mord. I need to pay closer attention. Good suggestions, akd. I guess it depends on how much Mord wants to follow reality. Me, I like to just go for a generic ME civil war look, and can't see not using all units available.
  6. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mord. I am pretty sure I have your email, but will PM you if not. What I’ve done so far is a lot of mix and match/ragtagging of the Fighters and Combatants. And I was going to do the same for Syrian reserves and militia, but keeping a more organized/uniform look. But are you thinking Republican Guard verses everyone else, or Uncons verses all army units, or what?
  7. Just don’t get stacked up in a building when the RPGs start flying, homewrecker, lol! I’m enjoying it too, Combatintman.
  8. Mord, I’ve already done quite a few mix and matches with Combatant and Fighter textures for my own purposes (Civil War as well as African wars and maybe Cartel/Latin America stuff), but I’m no Vein or EZ. But I can send you pix. Still working on skins, gear and head wear.
  9. Doors are on the top floor. Therefore, your men need to embark on their M40 “Ali Baba” Air Transport Carpet (Magic) first. Important to place the waypoint immediately adjacent to the door, though, since a 5 floor free fall will, at the least, cause your squad to be “Broken.” This could be countered by first employing your M1 WB/MM (Warner Brothers/Merry Melodies) Snake Charmer, which of course will extend a rope straight up from the Action Square in which it is located, allowing your men to rappel to the ground should you screw up placement of the M40 ATC(M). You’ll find all this in the Manual. Oh, don’t forget, the doorways may, in fact, be guarded by an M2 LT (Looney Tunes)Hassan Chop unit, armed with a huge scimitar (the big sword type, not that silly vehicle those British people run around in). Dicey (literally) in close quarters. I hope that helps, Kevin. Strangely, I feel the need to go watch some cartoons.
  10. Brother was Airborne (101st), then 1st Air Cav ‘66 - ‘67 in VN, then Airborne again (82nd) after he got back. So yeah, Go Airborne!
  11. Nothing is easy in war. "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." (Attributed to George Orwell) "These words, I pray, will burn deeply into the flesh of those who dare pass judgement, of any kind, on a young gentleman or lady who has the guts to put on a uniform knowing damn well they may die because of it. They do so givingly and lovingly for their country and their countrymen." (Unknown Marine)
  12. You’re pretty active for a dead person! I’ll need your secret in a few years myself, heh, heh.
  13. Lol, depends on who else is on the ballot!
  14. Pud, love your screen name, lol! You might also turn down tree detail (IIRC, it just stops leaves/limbs from waving in the wind), and turn shadows and/or shaders off. Seems to help, although I’m not a stickler for achieving a certain FPS, so your mileage may vary.
  15. Love those unplanned little action stories that this game produces!
  16. Sburke’s references to Monty Python skits confirm it’s a frat. (You weren’t supposed to give it away, you Git!) I agree 100% with LLFs arguments. I have no idea where simplesimon came up with his first paragraph assessment, but I grew up with family and family friends who lived through the war, and had a lifelong interest in it, read thousands of books regarding it and, more importantly, over the last 5 or so decades, have talked to dozens (more likely hundreds) of those family, friends and acquaintances about those times. None ever expressed anything other than being extremely pissed at the Axis and wanting to get at it and get it over with as quickly as possible.
  17. Okay, the name of the GDrive folder is "British Uniform Mods for CMBN"; hopefully the link below works. The mods are in zip files. There are two by Benpark, the Carpiquet Mod is by Ithikial, and the ones starting with "DC" are by Dark Canuck. I don't know who any of the other ones were made by. Any of these mods that were made in version 1 of CMBN will need to be renamed appropriately to conform with current naming conventions. Mord informs me that the DC ones will have to be renamed. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Gaqf0oq5x3mMWGjTtd0_g7-mCkKX6Tmp Cheers!
  18. I'm just uploading them all to Google Drive. I'm writing a note explaining that I have no idea which are from what version on CMBN, and that any made in v.1 will have to be renamed to the newer naming protocol. There are about 20 zip files from DC (Dark Canuck) covering 2nd, 3rd, 3rd Cdn and 6th Airborne divisions.
  19. Excellent! Your portraits for SF2 are looking great, btw.
  20. I’m afraid they’ll have to be redone. The models are all new. Some non-uniform mods will work, but a new Syrian woodland mod will need to be done. I’m not sure about vehicles, as I haven’t looked into modding them. Someone will be along with more definitive information, I’m sure.
  21. I have them. I have a shyteload of British mods. Actually I believe I have every mod ever released for almost all of the CMx2 titles. How to get them to you is the question. Canadians/Brits mod folder is 5.26 gigs!
