  1. I could be wrong but I think the Muj don't have ATGMs in game (although a dastardly scen designer could add one in from the russian side)
  2. The grey terrain is impassable, if you look carefully you'll see that there is no break in the grey terrain. The cursor and cliffs has allways been a bit dodgy since CMx1
  3. I managed to do the demo village attack mission by going into the village, only the edge though and only took 2 KIA and 1 WIA. I did get up onto the highground 2bmps, the shilka and my MGs. Managed to force a surrender 5 mins before my heavy arty was due to come in, and i called that in as soon as i got it lol.
  4. Yes I had noticed that in CMSF, for area targetting at least. The post i was quoting was referring to CMBB though
  5. Didn't they have to cover them with a cooling jacket which was sand coloured?
  6. I'm not sure if this works for user made campaigns, but the fixed marines campaign on the repository can be run from a save game from the non fixed campaign.
  7. If i remember the manual correctly, neither fighters or combatants are harder to spot with civilian density turned up. I think it's just the unarmed units that benefit from the civy cover (and veh IEDs)
  8. And by making the engine real time and then fudging it for WEGO (yes i know it would be a lot harder to make the engine real time and then fudge it for RT) inevitably means some things don't work as well in WEGO as RT.
  9. I thought i'd seen all the monty python stuff, never seen that before though lol, truly great
  10. I think the 30 second turn has merit. I can't see that it would be any harder to put in than simply changing one variable from 60 to 30, mind you I've never seen the code so of course I don't know.
  11. I think that's being put in CM:N for fausts etc, not sure if we'll get it with NATO
  12. Before I play CMSF i tend to shut everything else down that I can, I too have a pretty weak system so every last CPU cycle I can squeeze out of it helps immensely. Even if you have a good system it could be helpful to see if it helps, and if it does you can then run a process of deduction to find out if it is one bit of software that is conflicting with CMSF.
  13. That is definitely your PC if changing the settings does not help. I tend to max out all the settings and then change the 3d model quality in game using the shift and [ / ] keys till i get the desired quality/smoothness tradeoff. Sounds like a problem I had with an earlier version, changing the settings didn't seem to affect the visual quality at all, and in fact the higher the settings the smoother it would run :s I believe paradox stopped supporting CMSF after 1.20 and as such you have to purchase the 1.21 patch for something small like $1. You definitely shouldn't have to rebuy the game.
  14. Yes I've started up that campaign, but I have about 6 ongoing campaigns, none of which i've completed, in fact i've never completed a campaign lol. Was more looking for scenarios
  15. Any other recommendations? I'd love to find some good ones against the AI
  16. You can take ammo off dead enemy troops? This is news to me
  17. Ooh I just thought of something, apologies if it's already been answered. Will unit experience be mixed up like in CMx1? IE you buy a plt/co/batt etc of something at reg, will it have green and vet units thrown in too?
  18. Think of the elevations you draw as contour lines. Try this instead, go round the whole edge of the map and mark it with 20 elevations. Then Mark the top of the hill you want to make, take a look how it looks. If you want certain bits steeper put 20 elevation tiles closer to it. Try just experimenting with it for a while, you should get the hang of it.
  19. I think you're thinking of mapping mission, that never worked on mine but i heard it was a pretty useful tool. Map Converter was a program that let you convert maps between all 3 CM titles, it would copy the map and then you could paste it back into any version, so if there was one for CMSF you could just paste the new master map into your scenario, sounds just like what you need. Alas I'm guessing the CMx2 code is a lot harder to make it with so doubt we will ever see it.
  20. Well, he said he'd been trying to play CM multiplayer for 6 years, CMSF wasn't out 6 years ago
  21. I presume you were trying to play CMx1? Over at www.thefewgoodmen.com and www.theblitz.com CMx1 is still played actively and both are free to sign up with no sponsorship system. Not too many people play CMSF there but i expect a lot will be when CMN comes around
