  1. only the sryker's smoke blocks it's own LOS We can see we get a grey line through the smoke, i thought this was for inf squads where not all members of the squad had LOS to the target, obviously it means general reduced LOS too.
  2. Tests needed to be run so tests were run : ) First up the warrior LOS not through the smoke LOS through the smoke The same happens with the Bradley and Abrahms Continued on next post due to image restrictions, heil!
  3. I never really thought about that, i think i need to run some tests.
  4. Hmm well that shouldn't be the case. as far as I'm aware no british vehicles (in game anyway) use IR blocking smoke, and in fact the only vehicle that im aware of that does use IR blocking smoke is the stryker family. although im more than likely wrong..........
  5. But what about the vehicles that use non IR blocking smoke that have IR optics? I'm sure whenever i've had a vehicle pop smoke it basically blinds itself.
  6. I think it's just the vehicles that have such equipment but i may be wrong, i'm not even sure it's modelled in CMSF
  7. just paint onto the map the area you wish the arty to hit.
  8. As far as I understand it this is not BFs fault, they're using the standard openGL specifications and it's the new drivers that don't properly support openGL and not that BF havn't written their programs with sufficient future proofing. And it's all too easy to call from the sidelines for BF to get more staff when you can't see the books so to speak.
  9. In the AI section i think it's under support targets.
  10. yes it is a mortar, technically. in practice it's more like a grenade launcher that fires up instead of forwards. You can only (in CMSF anyways) use it in a direct fire mode, IE you can't use another unit to spot for it in the way you could in CMx1, i prsume that is what you were asking? The good thing about the brit mortar is that it can fire just beyond it's LOS however, IE behind a wall or the crest of a hill
  11. Mortar squad? Do you mean the 50mm doodad carried by the brits?
  12. Unfortunately not, although a skilled scenario designer can give you the impression that it is.
  13. CMSF Does not have triggers, that feature has been requested over and over.
  14. Don't area fire with your squads unless you really have to. 1 They don't have the ammo and 2 it tends to distract them. Thats what crew served weapons are for : )
  15. also don't forget the soldiers all have their legs bent and as such are not at full height.
  16. I was playing the stock scenario "factory outlet" last nite, I saved the game during the action phase (i play WEGO) to restart today. When i launched the save game today it came up saying game over syrian surrender! however it will still let me replay that turn, and i can see all the enemy forces. Surely the surrender shouldn't have kicked in until i'd finished with the action phase? Bug?
  17. uhhh....... I don't think there will be any NA/Italy titles judging from that.
  18. Oh yes i'd noticed that individual uncon squads would "cover" each other, in fact this caused many problems when trying to get them to go down one specific covered route as the leapfrog motion would cause squads to cut corners and run across open fields instead of down the nice trenchlines i put in. What i was referring to in my previous post however was that the AI seemed able to use the actual assault command. Reserve infantry squads were being split into 2 (not properly split, they still had a single icon) and one half would run ahead while the other would stay behind. I will try and take screenshots later.
  19. Well that's the 2D work done (apart from elevations) just a hell of a lot of clicking in 3D mode to do now!
  20. Or the HESCO blocks dammit I want a CM: Helmand Province game!
  21. I may be wrong but wasn't the end of 2009 described as "almost definite" or something similarly reassuring? On a side not i havn't seen steve post in a while, don't know if that's a good sign or a bad one.
  22. This RPG gunner dies at the same second he fires his rocket Youtube video showing it a lot better:
  23. It's the minor nature of the fix that makes me think we won't see it. No doubt it'll be at least on the bottom half of the "to-do" list
  24. +1 They should have just said "shut up, you'll get it when its done", or "expect it some time 2015" then we'd all be ecstatic when it came out "early"
