Prince Harry in Afghanistan
the Fighting Seabee replied to Cpl Steiner's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Yeah I have heard of senators and congressmen having sons in iraq and afghanistan. If it's true about Harry, well then he is a badass and I respect him more than ever, as I consider the brits to be like my brothers. Also Canadians and Aussies. -
New Civilian Vehicles ?
the Fighting Seabee replied to Peter Cairns's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Yes. I have been thinking about how I would simulate civilian traffic. Maybe I've been spending too much time in traffic. -
Campaign TF Narwick

Hey Bardosy, its a kickass campaign. Good job! Can't wait to finally kick some chemical factory ass. -
They gotta run out of suicide bombers sometime.

Sounds familiar to... hmmm... OIF. If we stay, we win. So basically, if we elect a democrat for president, we will lose the war, if not we win. Regardless of whether we lost in Nam or not, it's a part of our history. It also has many very interesting battles that bring about many interesting tactical scenarios. I would buy it.

AAR - Just Another Day

I really liked this mission. I lost one guy kia and 8 wia. Had a lot of fun, Thanks!! You could almost put this one with "the curve" and make a convoy campaign. -
New Scenario: "Afghani Stan"
the Fighting Seabee replied to the Fighting Seabee's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
BY THE WAY, About the whole John and Bill thing, I just thought it would be a cool way to draw in interest and put it to the player like they are actually recieving a message for a mission. Therefor, you are John, and the guy in the preview pic is Bill. Bill is telling you that you need to get ready for another big mission. -
Move to Contact
the Fighting Seabee replied to Big Poppa Pump's topic in CMSF Strategy and Tactics Forum
Still would be nice just to have the move to contact option. -

Bardosy, My suggestions are to add a bit more time, so slow pokes like me can be all tactical. Also, it would be nice to know what I need to hold and what I need to just touch (is that already in the briefing? Can't remember). AND... I played that mission for the third time... , still no total victory. Isn't a minor victory still a victory??? Handihoc, Playing your own missions is fun because the ai doesn't always do exactly what you designed. In "the curve" and "afghani stan", the ai did some things that surprised me, so I had fun. -
I have to say, M1's pictures are actually quite relevent and are very cool. I show people my military pics all the time. I would love to see more cool but relevant pics from everyone. A Viet Nam mod would be incomplete without helos. Sure it could be done and would only take a little bit of imagination, but still incomplete.

BDU Soldiers \ First Gulf War Soldiers
the Fighting Seabee replied to Paratroop's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Wow, thanks! How hard would it be to transfer the old desert camo to some red forces? A lot of Iraqi army soldiers use them. -
Personal first impressions rediscovered

Clicking the HUGE RED button doesn't pause the game in RT. -
Move to Contact
the Fighting Seabee replied to Big Poppa Pump's topic in CMSF Strategy and Tactics Forum
Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure units can spot beyond the target arc, they just won't open fire. Now I'm gonna have to try it. -

Yep, war is a bitch. But pretty darn good for your first try. -
That sounds badass.

How about a Move to Contact Command?

Hunt with small firing arcs? -
Maybe you guys should settle who is gayer on the battlefield. I'll be waiting for the results. (not to see who is gayer, just to see who wins).

Steiner, Cool kid, man! Bruce, I'd like to make a request... if you make this thing, vary the missions the way the "real world uncons" do it. Sometimes they go all out with 150 guys and sometimes they only have a few. Sometimes a hit and run, sometimes they stay to fight. Just make each mission a bit different and it'll be kickass.

Campaign TF Narwick
the Fighting Seabee replied to bardosy's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
I think I'm just going to have to rethink my strategy on this one. I spent most of the mission time trying to secure the chemical factory (that was a tough nut to crack). Then I have very little time left to get the other objectives, so I had to race my guys over there to try to get some points. I took control of 3 of the objectives, and skipped one (the barracks I think), although I did have a vehicle in the green area. Do I have to remain in the green area until the end of the mission or can I just touch it. At least one of the objectives let me just touch it, while the others did nothing when I touched it. More time would be cool, other than that I just need to know which objectives are what kind, and I need to rethink my strategy accordingly. I'll get back to you... -

The more I think about it, the more I think a Vietnam module could be done. It would just be a lot of infantry stuff and they would have to add in choppers that could fly in and out. But not all of Vietnam's battles were in dense jungle. Many were in farm areas, rice paddies, and cities like Hue. A lot could be done that would still feel like the 'nam experience. There are really endless possibilities.

Mine worked fine. I unchecked the boxes and it did not install anything but the patch. I have the battlefront downloaded version and patching has always been easy for me. You can check what version you have by opening the game and looking at the bottom of the screen.
