Operation Dark Rising

You should put them all together in a campaign. -
Booby trapped buildings!!

"Afghani Stan" has a booby trapped building, but I have never seen it go off. -
Campaign Mission Help
the Fighting Seabee replied to RAYMAN's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
Unbutton your recon hummers to use the advanced optics. Go slow. Sometimes I try to spot units with infantry, because they can hide easier. Then once I know where the enemy is, I can slide my tanks or apc's up and try to hit the threat from multiple angles at the same time. Kinda like when you see the old apaches (native americans, not helos) come over the hill all at the same time. -
Better fortifications in modual?
the Fighting Seabee replied to Flanker15's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
That's great, but I still disagree with any decision to leave wire out of a modern warfare simulator. http://images.google.com/images?q=concertina+iraq&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us -
Is there anywhere else that has mods and missions for cmsf??? CMMODS seems to be the only one. If it's not in cmmods, it doesn't exist.

Last stand at Blood Ridge
the Fighting Seabee replied to Mishga's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
Mishga, Wow, you're putting out a lot of missions. I will play them all but I have very little time. I'll catch up later once I've played them. Thanks! -

More fortifications = more realism. Don't forget the wire. -
Need help with first Map...
the Fighting Seabee replied to G B Scurlock's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
Holy crap. I had no idea you could do any of that. -
Looking through my mod files, I noticed that there aren't many sound mods. The ones I have tried, all had some great sounds and others needed a lot of improvement. Has anyone worked on sound mods lately???

Thanks! I will download and eventually play all of your scenarios.

The Hasrabit Campaign
the Fighting Seabee replied to Paper Tiger's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
I set up my atgm's in a way that made them very deadly. One all the way to the right, hiding behind a low wall. They were very effective and ran out of ammo. Then another atgm looking down the road to the left. Hey was also very effective and ran out of ammo. I only wish I would have had my other 2 positions doubled up. They were perfect and would have taken out ALL of the tanks and most of the apc's. Instead, 2 tanks made it through. Luckily, they were quickly taken out by the close range rpg's. So, I made it out relatively unscathed, with only a few casualties. Great mission! I'm looking forward to the rest of the campaign. -

Any chance for a special forces title?
the Fighting Seabee replied to c3k's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
MikeyD, I just replayed "Blood Feud" for 1.08. Very nice! I was blue (shia) and was doing pretty decent until my martyr decided to go off next to my troops. I think your optimizations for 1.08 were well done. Thanks! -
What NOT to attempt in CMSF
the Fighting Seabee replied to MikeyD's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
"Zarqawi's Last Day" was pretty bad. All you do is call in an airstrike on a building. Then BOOM, you're done. BUT, the map was made to look like the guncam footage of the real occurance. That's probably my worst one yet. -

MikeyD, I've played all of your scenarios you posted on CMMODS. I just didn't know ~HOW~ you were able to do that. I probably would have done it in "Afghani Stan", because our SF guys tend to roll deep with the locals. -
I can't wait to play it! Btw Normal Dude, you can use anything you want from any scenarios. I think my UAV tactical map can be made much nicer and more realistic looking. Glad you liked it though. I'm looking forward to this campaign, but I still need to finish bardosy's campaign, and I want to replay Webwings campaign. Baaah! work, school, women, moving... they are all taking my battle time away .

Back for Dinner [BETA, my first mission]

Cool mission. I got my ass handed to me in the first 5 minutes! I'll play again soon, I can't leave those guys hangin'! -
NEW SCENARIO - Cry Havoc!
the Fighting Seabee replied to George MC's topic in CMSF Scenario and Mod Design Forum
GeorgeMC, I played your mission. It's pretty damn cool. I finished with a draw my first time, but I got kinda lazy toward the end (tired). The mission was realistic and fun. The map design is outstanding. Everyone should play this scenario. Thanks! -

COOL! I didn't know that either. I will utilize that "bug" in my next SF mission. Thanks MikeyD. -

Well, actually "Afghani Stan" is my only special ops mission. "Warlords in a barrel" was someone else's attempt (which was quite fun). "Zarqawi's Last Day" wasn't much of a mission, just reliving a great moment:). Anyways, with a little careful planning and attention to detail, fun SF missions can be created and played with CMSF. And with some new SF skins... boom, SF mission. In the current wars we are fighting, the SF guys aren't necessarily all doing "Splinter Cell" stuff. They go out and fight just like the G.I.'s. But, an entire expansion dedicated to only SF wouldn't be all that great. I fully support Steve's idea that some SF troops will be included as support elements (you guys better freakin' not forget about the Seabees come Marine module time! ). But yes, as long as Battlefront adds in some extra guys, us scenario designers will use them! Edit: Btw, play "Afghani Stan" if you don't think SF can be done in CMSF. -
Using smoke or tanks is really your only way to move your men where you indicated. If you HAD to move them, use smoke. Even if you have a vehicle, smoke helps obscure the enemy's view of you. Split your squad if you only have one and open fire with one group, move with the other. Otherwise your just sitting in a kill zone. I guess I don't understand the question.

No, I just moved and have not yet set up my computer. Right now I'm on my laptop so I can't play. My girlfriend is using my desk, her desk should arrive today. -

Me too, I'm looking forward to playing through it again. -
Your putting your troops into a killzone. That's not a good idea. If you have other squads, have them move in on them from another direction. If not, back up and make your way to where you can destroy them. Use your artillery for situations like this.
