  1. Thanks. Yeah it is a huge "little work". I am working once more on the ground curve altitude, being not so satisfied with some of them. Even when they are set rightly they don't necessarily give a good effect to my player's eyes. Sometimes, you really have to get away from the real altitude in order to have the map look better. As soon as this is done, I shall work on a small tactical scenario about the fight at the airport. After having done it a scenario using the original size of the map will be done. Thanks to all of You for your renewed interest Cheer
  2. Thanks Pete, Some of your curve hints come at the right time for me, but I must admit that It demands a lot of patience to set the right curve altitude in the editor map. I have however found sometimes, that even a slight difference of altitude does not look so good on the map and that it requires some adjusment to make the environment look better to the player eyes Cheer
  3. Donetz Airport with some Russians troops in the damaged terminal
  4. @snarre you must use RAR to reduce your file size and or Winzip. @all Sure 2 sizes will be done. The smaller one for a tactical fight within the airport vicinity and an assault or a defence battle with some AFV's and tanks for the second bigger one. I shall post a close up view of the airport today showing more details. Cheer;
  5. I might be mistaken but to upload a scenario and or a map in the Black Sea Repository you only use it and in no way Dropbox. You just upload the file from your PC. Cheer
  6. I have been working on a Donetz map for a while. It is a huge work being 2400 x 3800 meters. Since the amount of woods and houses might be too heavy for normal computers, the size might have to be reduced. I have not decided yet if it has to be done. Anyway it far from being finished being still a WIP map. The following pictures are shoiwing the airport runways, traffic contro tower and the terminal. All have been damaged. The final picture is showing tghe outskirts of Donetz not far away from the airport, right after the raitracks. I might release a smaller scenario dealing with the combat around and in the airport before the larger one I would like to do, Cheer
  7. Usualy, once a defence position has been mostly ascertained you should have a base fire set in order to supress the enemy fire. Then you should attack with an assault force from a position preferably from the flank while the base fire is doing its suppresive fire. Never stage an assault directly to the enemy front. This is a basic drill assault and it Will work, but only if your fire power is equal at least and better superior to the one the enemy has. Good luck you will need it
  8. Just saw it. The tank performed Pretty well, better than the movie story. In WW II, The poor tankers would not have stayed alive so long being immobilized like they were with infantry able to move around with panzerfauts. The sequence with Brad Pitt forcing the green guy to shoot in the back an elderly infantryman having surrendered is disgusting. In Normandy to speak only of that battle, paratroops in some instances, shot captured enemies by obligation having no way to guard them. They just shot them and moved on, they had no time to give a psychological lesson to a poor green guy. Fury is a movie that's all.
  9. I close down the computer and go in the garden to take care of the lawn. The problem, that obliges me to play only few months of the year when the lawn needs care. More seriously, I don't play again the scenario before few months, just the time to forget about the beating I got and how it happened. The next time I play it, I take care of the lawn once more. No Wonder the lawn is like one of a golf !
  10. You should read also from the same author "Between Giants" the battle for the Baltics. It is still of actuality these days and will help you comprehend how things went in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia prior WW II, during and up to the eighties.
  11. That's the book that gave me the idea to design "CMRT East Prussia Defence". However, it is a book that necessitates to rely frequently on maps to keep up with the reading. Excellent book anyway.
  12. 1/ Get a good LOS by unbuttoning the tank 2/ Engage the JS2 at longer range and slightly offset your tank axis by something like 20 to the most 30 Degrees to favorize shell deflection. In another term, don't Keep your tank straight to the enemy gun. 3/ If You can take a hull down position the better it is. 4/ Fire at the JS2 while stationary and never on its front facing (unless in a dire situation or at short range).Try to engage it on its flank with a fire angle greater than 30 Degrees, the better will be the closer to 90 degrees). 5/ Since the JS2 has a low rate of fire engage it at longer range (more than 500 to 800 meters). The closer it comes the more deadly it Will be for the enemy but also for you And your long range fire advantage will dwindle to None. 6/ Try to engage the JS2 with two tanks to uptimize your chance. 7/ If You find a good flank ambush site and have two tanks, you can from a short range up to 300 meters create havoc in a JS2 platoon. They will rotate slowly their turret, will not respond to your fire quickly being buttoned having difficulties with their LOS (unless you are in plain view) 8/ If things turn wrong, hit the smoke dischargers button and reverse out of the way of the coming beast.
  13. Russia has learned a lot since the Georgia war, everything going on these days has been ever since thought off and well prepared.
  14. Hi Karl, Some are on the road again, meanwhile you are on the editor again. We are lucky, since you are always coming up with pretty good scenarios. BTW I have been able to get rid of my AVASt false positive incident and retrieved the exe file from the quarantine folder. Messed around to find it, but it paid off. CMSF works again and I shall play "Green Zone" as soon I get some some time off. Moving pretty much these late and coming days as well. Wish you all a happy New Year with CMBS coming up and its nice features from what is seen in the Beta AAR's
  15. I have had the same problem with AVAST. The exe was put in the quarantine folder of my desktop. The same happened with my laptop. I messed around for a while not finding any solution. Then I got an idea. That is, retrieving the file from the quarantine folder and put it back in the CMSF folder. It worked fine. I made a report for a false positive to AVAST. I have had no answer ever since. I did the same on my Laptop and it kept sending the file in the quarantine folder and I have found no ways to prevent AVAST doing it. So for the time being I am playing with my desktop. BTW all the patches exe were declared as Win32:malware-gen and or Win32:adware-gen
  16. I have retrieved the exe from the quarantine folder and since it is a virus positive I have been able to start Cmsf on my desktop, but not on the laptop (both have Avast). ??? So that will allow me to start the battle soon and tell you about. Merry Xmas to you Karl.
  17. Things like the virus are always striking twice or it looks like now, that. I have had the same on my laptop. All the patches were infected by a win32 malware (or adware) - gen So I have no chance, Combatintman, to play your scenario before knowing what went on. The biggest problem was that the exe was put on quarantine and if it was a false virus alert like it happens sometimes, I just have now to reinstall it. Basic, addons, patches and so on. Even the desinstall exe was put on quarantine ! Well I shall do it in 2015 and meanwhile I wish you all a Merry Xmas
  18. I have the following desktop specs and it runs fine with CMRT at full blast (Best, Antialias / Multisample On. Advanced options : Trees high, Shaders on) I assume it should be the same with CMBS. Intel i5 - 4670K - 3.40 GHz Memory 8.00Go Windows 7 64 bits MSI Z87 G45 Gaming 8 GB NVIDIA Geforce GTX 660 2GB GDDR5 - SSD 120GB - HDD 1To
  19. Hi,Combatintman, By a stroke of luck, I have just seen your post. I do not understand how I missed it. Being mostly abroad in September and moving quite a lot ever since might be the reason and probably the fact that I have made another CMRT scenario, "East Prussia Defence" and kept focused on CMRT forum. It is too bad, I would have been happy to test it, like You did earlier with proficiency with my earlier CMRT scenario. Yours seems very promising and I shall play it as soon as I shall have reinstalled CMSF. I have had a virus warning and the exe was removed by avast and had not found the time to reinstall it on my desktop. Take care,
  20. Thanks for the link. I've been able to download maps around Pillau, Königsberg and Elbing. I have all the details for a breakthrough attempt scenario from Königsberg, in February 1945, toward Pillau. In particular, the attack axis on the road followed through Juditten, Moditten and Metgethen on the left and Waldgarten on the right. Pretty vicious fights took place, the discovery of civilians ordeals and their death inflicted by the Soviets ensured that no pity was shown. “Battleground Prussia” written by Prit Buttar details as much as it can the tragedy of these merciless battles, since many Divisions records have been lost at the time following the either ending retreat. Cheer
  21. @Erwin, Sure, you can. Either in "Helluva" or better in this one. CMRT allows You to deploy AAA assets near your vehicles and troops. I have posted pictures of Flakvierling or Flak 36 in action in my WIP. They really are able to diminish the accuracy of the fighter bombers, most of the time. None the less, in my tactical advices, I strongly underline the necessity to have Flaks covering the vehicles and that while they move or stay at a defence site. If You can have them at the edge of a Wood, it is better than in the middle of a field. At least, if that give You a ground tactical advantage, if the middle of the field is better for You, a lone tank will not be a prime target. However, few tanks and troops moving closely will be. To reassure You, for the time being, Red planes are also bombing their own forces. That should be corrected or has been in the patch to come. But anyway, these Blue on Blue did happened and today, Besides all the Electronic and rules of fire deployed to prevent it, this is not 100% safe, even if we are close to it. Let me know about this scenario, I am curious to learn how the players will play it. Cheer
  22. I am afraid, no . However, if You don' t want to go into the editor and remove the fighter bombers, email me in order to send You a modify Copy. Cheer
  23. @Erwin, Don't thank me, you might have a hard time with the Nashorns :D More seriously, let us know how they fare. Be careful, enfilading T34 and or JS2 cannon shots are very precise even going through the wooden area. It looks like that there are sufficient LOS for the red tank gunner. I must tell you that the same happened with a King Tiger. First I was wondering how five JS2 had been shot, then looking closely I found hit decals on their side and saw their guns oriented toward a King Tiger far away behind a wood. I had the confirmation of the kills in the AAR. The kills were made by the A.I during one testing , leaving the scenario run by itself. Did not expect that to happen. So good for the A.I with the V 3.0 engine. Cheer
