  1. Thanks Buzz. I am mounting another video showing a Red attack going on Hassan Village, LZ 1 and LZ 2 areas. That could be a spoiler if there was to be only one A.I Plan. That won't be the case and Blackmoria will have to find a new tactical scheme. The only thing I am sure, with him, is that the casualty collecting point will be as usual nearly empty
  2. Please find the link for a short video of the British armored spear head moving toward the airfield as well as a Marines squad taking over Hill 54 Op. Best viewed 1080p HD full screen
  3. A Helluva Take Over - Op Market Garden - I am doing the last testing, adjusting and tweaking as needed the battle, taking in account Blackmoria's AAR. The only thing that annoys me is the fact that I have not so many A.I Groups as found in CMBN and CMFI-GL. It will be better in CMSF2. So here are some shots and I shall post sone or two videos as well soon.
  4. @ Combatintman - About the South Bridge road - Sorry not to have answered earlier, being away and without a connection around. I must confess that I had not thought that the road being at a 30% angle or so, the making of it obliged you to go transversally and then up again, in order to keep somehow a bearing toward South bridge I tried to alter the course of the road in the editor, doing slightly better and or worse. Got just surprised to see two roads. I had not notice them while playing. Anyway these are details that are not changing the quality of your map and of the battle. I have seen your map shots of CMSF Mojo Returned - Op Telic Campaign/Missions and found them pretty well done with a good situation rendering and well done highways turn around and exits. When the roads angle allows it, the problem is not one anymore. It will be a good thing if they could change that in CMSF 2. Cheer
  5. If some have trouble with a V 1.12 corrupted downloaded file on the BF site (I had it) use the Gamershell site with Torrent. It worked fine.
  6. Thanks guys. I have read that some had trouble with the CMFI-GL download of V 1.12 The file being corrupted. I had that isssue with the BF downloading site but not with Gamershell and Torrent. However,no problem with the BF site with the download of CMBN V 2.12
  7. Thanks Collingwood. I assume that the same can be done with CMBN V2.11 and V 2.12.
  8. I have downloaded V 2.11 on November 25th Is there a difference between V 2.11 and V 2.12 ,or is it only a patch number change? Cheer
  9. I have downloaded V 1.11 on November 25th and installed it two days ago. I see that it is not anymore mentioned and that V 1.12 replace it. Can I install V 1.12 after V 1.11 ? Is there a difference between V 1.11 and V 1.12 ,or is it only a patch number change? Cheer
  10. Sorry guys, the upload would be done within 2 weeks at the most, I hope so !. I have just been back home after 15 days during which time, I had no way to get connected. I had received the excellent AAR testing from BlackMoria, just before I left and I was able to thank him for his work before getting off line. I thought that I could finalize the scenario and took my laptop on my trip. Up to that moment there was no problem to finish on time the scenario.. However, next day, I had to use the recovery system on my Laptop having problems with VISTA. The secondary HDD was not affected, but the licence keys were erased . I had no other way to start up CMSF without reinstalling the licensing keys, and probably Marines, the Brits and Nato. Needless to say I did not have the keys and the add-ons with me. As you can guess I had plenty time to replay the scenario in my head and think about it. That was all I could do. OK, I shall go into it in the next few days, as soon as I get all the current affairs done.
  11. @Michael Emrys and Slysniper I have not heard about that AVRE (Armored Vehicle Recovery) used as a foundation for a bridge span. But I know that such improvised anchor for launching a bridge have been used by Engineers in combat situation. They were not however used on a long term basis. In France the "Ponts & Chaussees" would not have allowed it to remain after the war. Whales (the articulated bridge linking the Mulberry to the beaches) were used and some remain today, in France and Netherland from what I have seen.. See the picture. They are used as a bridge span. The Carentan's Bailey Bridge is currently controlled by the competent authorities and it is in a pretty good shape for its age. As an Engineer, I fully agree with the comments of Slysniper. Just a comment about the paint. I have seen over the years, Bailey's parts painted olive grab but also some painted in a Navy grey. If someone knows the story of that bridge that would be interesting and maybe surprising. Not far from it in the canal harbour, there is another surprise, a LCVP fully restored ( see the 2 pictures). It is one from the 1944 days still sea worthy. It is participating since a year or two at the June D-Day ceremonies.
  12. I have played the scenario, and had a good time. The real hospital grounds battle could also have provided a battle by itself with quite a lot of close combat and MOUT actions confined to the hospital and North bridge only.. Just a question, why did you have the road going to the South bridge done the way it is and not like it is seen in your Google Earth picture. That could be done. I also think that if you get involved a little bit more into the Red A.I plans, you will give a new dimension to the scenario. The defence will be less static and the results will be surprising in the good sense that is. Closer to the Guerrillas actions that were observed at the time. For those interested, the following 5 books (they are a must) about the two Fallujah battles, that is, the first one, Operation Vigilant Resolve in April 2004 and the second one, Operation Phantom Fury in November of the same year, Operation Phantom Fury - The assault and capture of Fallujah by Dick CAMP No True Glory -A front line account of the battle of Fallujah by Bing WEST New Dawn - The battles for Fallujah by Richard S. 13. I am wondering if BF is considering Bailey's bridges worth being among the others. I think that they will add a touch of realism. Some might object that they were not present during an attack. That is for sure, but Engineers were launching them very quickly enabling the tanks, trucks and artillery tractors to move forward at a short time notice. So it would not be unusual to see a Bailey bridge in a scenario in which forces will defend previously won grounds. Here after is one that can be seen near the Carentan canal in Normandy. I don't know if it was built during the Carentan battle, since many of these were built in the following months and or year to follow in order to restore quickly the bridges on the road network. There are not too many of them left around in Normandy and that one seems to have been forgotten and to my knowledge seems to have not been listed in different blogs I have read. [/uring include Bailey's bridges
  14. The testing is nearing its end. I am really enjoying the Brits armor doing its attack against the Red defending the Airport. I have almost decided to have the scenario brought to you as one battle , instead of a campaign of two battles and or two stand alone scenarios. Sure enough, you will have first to secure the two LZ's and their immediate vicinities as well as covering the fields and the road coming from the airport. That is in itself one battle. Then you will have to deploy the Brits upon their arrival and have them attack the key hills to cover their troops on the way to their final objective (the airport). I shall be interested to learn how some players will fare doing that attack. There will be different possible tactical schemes that could be applied by the Marines and then the Brits. There will some surprises "as usual !", but the fact that the battle is played the other way on the map you already know, with the adding of the Darya pass with its tortuous way leading to it, will have you fight a totally different battle. It won't be anymore a Helluva Road Opening, but somehow a SOB battle. After all wars are not fought in an Armchair, they are only discussed while resting in it. Cheer
  15. While loading my battle file, I had the surprise to see the activation of AVAST "Deep Screen", a new feature in their most recent update. The result was a complete hang up of CMSF. I had to re boot my computer. When the game was started again, there was not anymore shown on the screen the MARINES, BRITISH and NATO modules with the V 1.32 patch, but only the CMSF base game. I was warned for the file I wanted to play to have the MARINES modules. Looking into the data folder I found all the correct brz files. So I had a look into the parameters of AVAST and found "Deep Screen" and unchecked it. Everything now works fine.
  16. A video of the first enemy troops seen from the height of Nira LZ 1 and a view of the final objective : the Nira Airfield. Best viewed 1080p HD full screen Cheer
  17. Please find a small video, showing the two Marines LZ's and some ground features of interests for securing the area before the arrival of the British troops. Best viewed 1080p HD full screen Cheer
  18. I was sure you'll be answering my call B.M. As soon as things are rightly set up I shall send you the file. As a matter of fact, for the time being I have only tested the Air assault and the securing of LZ's areas. I have not tried the British for the time being. The reason is that they might be used in that first battle fully and or with some Recon elements. Their spearhead could be done in a second battle. That means that I should do a campaign. So for the time being I am trying to find out the correct time to have the Brits into the battle and decide if that should be one battle or two. Cheer @Erwin Depending on the issue (related above) it could be a month or two at the most. You are right about M.G people are focused on it. To my taste M.G will be more fit to urbans battles than wide open country ones. I don't see the interest of having a huge and long bridge taking almost all the map. To attack such an area is suicide unless the other side is surprised. That is in the game, since you know the issue already. The A.I progress are for me the most interesting thing. Cheer
  19. I am working again on a scenario using the Helluva road opening map (let it aside for a year at least). This time you will need Marines, UK and NATO to get into it. I have the Marines coming in first in two separate LZ on either end of the NIRA dam bridge. Once they have secured the area a British battalion coming by road will spearhead the way toward the airport. Needless to say the Red forces, since the last scenario, have had the time to build a defence stop line. You will find bunkers with self support line of fire as well as static tanks buried in well chosen areas. The Red Grunts are putting on a good fight and having not look again closely to the A.I, surprised me more than one time. If my memory is not wrong and or deficient ! I recall that BLACK MORIA had a look at it at the time. If you read that post B.M,let me know if you want to test it again. The scenario has somewhat changed since last time ! I shall try to post some shots in the coming days. Anyway if some of you feel interested by that new scenario let it be known. That way, I shall be obliged to speed up its release ! Cheer
  20. Hullo George, I am back on the line and ready, as I wrote it earlier to you, to test your last baby. Let me know on my email. I don't have travels planned at a short term notice, at least I hope so. that gave me time to play for the first time at some CFMI GL scenarios. Some of the maps done are splendid and what to say more about the winter sceneries. unfortunately, some scenarios OOB's are somewhat unrealistic. far away from yours which are as close as it could be from what was found or should have been found at the time. That is why I like the most to play them. It does not matter if they are CMSF, CMBN and or CMFI -GL Badly done OOB's are putting aside interesting tactical challenges that the usually well done maps would allow. Quite a few Designers don't have a military experience, commision and or sufficient historical knowledge for knowing that a couple of MG's teams well positioned in defence, are worth a platoon and or a depleted company and that this is closer to reality, than a stack of numerous units. Bill Tactical primers and problems will be most welcome and even myself will surely learn something from them. More, when they give you a unrealistic short time to get to your objectives against so many odds, it does not make any good to the game despites its many good assets. You have a tendency to put it aside, waiting for some hopeful good new scenarios. That is why I am always glad when you release a scenario. Wittmann's demise was fantastic. Cheer
