  1. From what I can tell the cheapest way for the full Normandy suite is: Get CMBN + CW Bundle now. Then when available (a month or so) get CM Market Garden with 2.0 upgrade. If you don't but the 2.0 Upgrade now you will need to buy the MG with 2.0 But you can split it up any way you like. There no compatibility issues in the order purchased, provided base game, CMBN, is installed 1st. The compatibility problems occur when playing other people...the games must be at the same level.
  2. Back in CMx1 days (daze) the Scenario Depot had a rating system. It helped me select games based on rating/reviews.
  3. ^^^^^ SPAM DETECTION ALERT ON previous post!!
  4. How about life time down load... Oh wait!! they already o that.
  5. Really? I ordered the game too. But the best $$$ I spent was on some fine cigars.
  6. What's the name of the French disease when you seem to relive things twice?? Oh Yeah Deje vu.
  7. Dumbest question of the year award to me. What exactly is a ditchlock? When I googled the term it taught me how to put parental controls on Dish satellite TV. And I found the Ditchburn gun lock.
  8. Maybe they will become available with the Bulge game then be a pack for CMFI.
  9. BFC, Can you refresh my/our memory to the sequence of future releases? Game, Fronts, etc. simplified order. please. The last list I remember still had the "something special" - which turned out to be Italy. I understand time line is always variable.
  10. Yes, I'm impressed also. And I will also hold out on buying it too...I refuse to buy it until pre-order is announced.
  11. Yup Yup Yup. Key phrase "later this summer". FYI: Summer ends with the autumn equinox on 22 September.
  12. I'm thinking the final pack won't be released until the flame/fire issues have been conquered with the possibility of FTs and Crocs included. I know they are working hard on this one. It must be a real tough effort.
  13. Could it be a dead cow flavor object? Or possibly a motorcycle with side-car.
  14. I once saw an interview of Atkins. He was saying: .... When you read something like "The lead scouts of company encountered resistance and the attack stalled. Additional artillery softened up the position before the attack resumed" That really means 1 or 2 scouts were killed soon after leaving the line of demarcation and the rest of the men returned (ran back to) to their foxholes. Strikes were called in and 4 hours later the CO convinced everyone to move again. But tha army historians couldn't say the men ran away after a 1% casuality rate. But it happened. .... That's about the scenario Atkins described. Like a few others have mentioned not much fun for a game, but some serious self preservation. I think his example also shows how morale or lack there of can quickly spread through a larger unit rather than a single squad as depicted in the game. A good example of a whole unit losing morale all at once in the BOB series at Caratean where Fox or Golf company are see running just before the US armor shows up. This "retreat now" behavior for a larger unit really keeps causality rates way down.
  15. Typically 6 weeks or so after pre-orders begin. So the real question: Is when to pre-orders begin?
  16. My first wargame was Panzer Blitz in 1973 (besides Risk). Prior to that point, the only thing I knew about the Russian Front was Col Klink's fear of being assigned there. I quickly became a Russian front fan.
  17. The dreaded setup. For scenarios: I figure the designer put some thought in to troop placement so I just start entering orders. For QBs... yup the dreaded setup. Poor offensive setup can be overcome by maneuver, I just figure where's he's at where I need to get to and seek cover along the way. For defense: A few pickets out front. A MLR - (main line of resistance) and reserve. With luck the reserve can shift without getting mowed down while moving.
