Seemingly endless wait but pleased we're not going to have to wait till June, it appears. CMSF had the engine, couple that with all the value added work put in by Battlefront, CMBN will raise the bar significantly higher than all its predecessors:)
I have to be careful not to get too hung up on one particular map. When I play on a map like this, I don't want to leave it... lol. It can spoil me for lesser maps, making me even more choosier and thus cutting down drastically on other choices.
Super work guys, that was some entertainment. The 2nd battle was the shizz! I would like to see 2 skilled players on each side both take a video and narrate from their own vantage points. That would be the ultimate AAR:) Love the suspension works on the Panthers also. Great stuff BF!
What will be your first action. For myself there is much to consider but QB along with the use of map previews and the 'cherry picking' feature should be a blast!
The only aspect I don't like is from a distance it looks like WWII fought on a golf course. Very smooth surface, I have to go down to the surface and remind myself there are doodads there:) But as Steve put well the pixel limitation gives us a limited view and not a big deal for me. I imagine when CM2 goes to snow terrain it will be outstanding. I especially enjoyed CMBB with the snow coming down for added immersion. Snow camo stugs sitting in the snow waiting to pounce!
Sadly never knew there was a 'Russian Front' until I picked up the game Panzer Blitz and read the back of the box. Every WWII movie I'd ever seen there was virtually no mention of the Eastern Front. It was not taught in my History classes to my memory. But I was immediately intrigued by it. The concept Germans vs. Russians became far more interesting than what the Western Front had to offer. Factor in the enormous scale of it and I was sold completely.
