I was kind of hoping they might do 'The End' in Berlin, then go right back to Barbarossa and work their way forward again.....TBH I'd love to play the early Panzers again, the terror (& anticipation of a real challenge) of spotting a KV-1 when you are in control of a platoon of Pz.38(t) is something that really should be savoured by a new generation of CM players (IMHO).

Had a weird one in CM:SF last night.....Playing 'King Copper Mines', a T-72M got the drop on one of my T-55s (the veteran platoon HQ), fired but narrowly missed, apparently inflicting a light would on the unbuttoned commander in the process.  My crew bailed.
I didn't actually notice the tank had been abandoned at first (no explosion and I had infantry quite close to them), but once I did notice and made them re-embark, I discovered the tank was completely undamaged!  In one of those glorious moments that CM often provides, they then dashed heroically to the 'Workers Housing' area and took out two T-72Ms with short range side shots through holes in the perimeter wall!
God I love these games (& hate them).....In roughly equal proportions!

The BTRs get a right pasting in that one, in my next play through I'm going to strip them of gear, dismount them and see if they are more useful as road-blocks!

    Stonking!
Takes me several cups of tea (& the occasional lie down) to get my mini-blocks done, you clearly have the CM terrain editing fortitude of a Spartan.

That's a great looking map.....I'm another with a hankering for some earlier Ostfront CM content, I miss grey panzers (and scaring the **** outta them with KV-1s).

Amen to that brother, considering similar, likely in Canada.

@Sgt.Squarehead: That's one of the reasons they reinstated moose hunting up here back in the mid 80s or so. The car vs moose incidents were increasing so they lifted the moratorium on hunting. Least that's how I remember it.  There's a lottery every year, I think they give out 1000 licenses. My brother shot one back around 87 (I think it was). I didn't get to try it though, I was living in Maryland at the time. I saw a bull up in Rangely one time that had a rack as wide as my brother's pick was long. The bad boy was so huge that he could've put a hoof into the bed of the truck just by taking a step. HUUUUGE!

Here's another reason I am glad I am here/moved back. I went with my buddy the other day to look at some tires some dude was selling on facebook. This was the guy's neighborhood. This is about 45 minutes west of us.

Left hand side of the road.

About four hundred yards up, on the right hand side of the road.

I think there's some Russian infantry hiding in the wood line on the back edge of that bog.
I get to see stuff like this all the time.

By this point in the war many German units were utterly p**s-poor, the very last scrapings of the barrel, stiffened by a diminishing number of veterans (or better).....IMHO you could use almost any combination of training & experience levels &, often within the same (reduced) platoon.
The Brits were in a reasonably similar position as we were simply running out of men, but we were slightly better off in that we still had decent supply and training facilities well behind the lines (ie: in the UK), so I'd be somewhat less likely to rate them conscript or use -2 experience and the overall unit settings would be a bit more uniform by & large.
The US had no shortage of manpower but their units were beginning to suffer the effects of combat fatigue.....Troops who had been in the field for long enough to consider veterans could see that the end was in sight and became very reluctant to stick their neck out (naturally this effected British & Commonwealth forces too), so I'd set many Veteran units to Low or even Poor morale.  The remainder would mostly be regulars but still with a decent number of enthusiastic new recruits (I usually chuck in a few green troops with high morale to compensate for the veterans).
    FWIW

I'm doing similar with my ten year old nephew.....While claims FarCry Blood Dragon is his favourite PC game (it really is an absolute scream), it's almost always his on-going CM:BN campaign that he asks to play when he comes to stay overnight (he's reading the Osprey titles covering the Normandy landings at the same time).

So long as the vehicle status is not set to 'Dismounted' you shouldn't have a problem.
Besides, soon you can simply attach individual vehicles to any TO&E you want.

That's weird. I've built a couple of vehicle firing ranges by using the deployment mode of the editor to dismount the crews, and leave a bunch of empty vehicles.
Set your vehicle status to 'Immobilized', then dismount the crews, and order them to hide someplace, like inside a building, with short cover arcs.
I dunno if it works with vehicles set to 'Okay' status.

This is a great point, well made.
The fact that Battlefront can remain financially viable to what is, let’s face it, a fairly small niche group of players is in itself astonishing. My 11 year old son and I play CM2 together. Whilst I'm slowly teaching him the application of real world tactics and we have some good small-scale games, he still marginally prefers the 'instant gratification' and fast-paced action of the Call Of Duty series on his X-Box.
I’ve been able to get him into playing CM2 through 11 years of sharing my passion for WW2 history (OK– indoctrinating a future opponent!) via museum visits, films like Battle Of Britain and series like Band Of Brothers. I reckon if I take it slowly, in another couple of years, he’ll be a very good player – but I wouldn’t have a hope of teaching some of his mates the nuances of CM2, because they don’t have the background interest.
I don’t consider myself a Battlefront 'fanboy', but I do appreciate the hard work and dedication that goes into producing an extraordinary series of games. I sincerely hope BF continue to develop them for as long as I’m around to play them.

Bit of both at a guess.....In Mosul there seemed to be a 10%+ change of the gunship shooting at the wrong end of the blue line (despite the target area being 200m+ away)!
The carnage they caused to CTS on such a tiny map during testing ruled them out, even though they probably should be present (Hinds seem to be the most commonly photographed gunship over Mosul).
I've made up for it here though (you get four Mi-24F, in heavy anti-tank configuration).....You need to use them to sweep Hill-121 so your airborne troops can get up there to see what's what in the valley and to keep a lookout for enemy reinforcements coming up the road from the south or over the hills to the east.  Once the Air Controller gets up there he can have a field day.....See image above, that's all him & the Hinds and he'd hardly got started at that point!
PS - In that image the Air Controller is calling a (light/personell 20m+ area) strike in at a range of around 100m, the Hinds placed their cannon rounds with total precision.....All I found there later was corpses!
PPS - While this all sounds like a total pushover, you have to exit the whole Guards Mech Company and its escorting platoon of T-62s off the south edge of the map and they then go straight into scenario two as your main force without resupply.

Much of Syria is not desert, so a pine tree (cedar) is entirely appropriate.
    1. It would also be nice to have just a couple of modular buildings with nonflat/no access roofs.  Use CMFI Mediterranean textures.
    2. The barn is pretty versatile when reskinned as a thin walled warehouse / high bay  structure (we can do the reskin).
    3. Last don't forget the small half sized cottage! Those are ubiquitous in third world slums (again, we can reskin it).
That is my bare bones plea list.
