jtsjc1 replied to General Jack Ripper's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Gave you some rep on youtube I like your vids. Keep making more there's not enough new SF videos out there now that BS was released. I like the unconventional warfare too it makes SF unique in Combat Mission. -
Nice video Rinaldi! And please accept my apology I accidently hit the down arrow for rep so please ignore it. Btw my cousin's last name is Rinaldi so I'd never vote down!

What is your best lesson learned from CMBS experience?

Automatic weapons are great!...Except when everybody else has them. -
Schürzen does it work in game?

Damn that's a hell of a story. Sorry you lost your buddy but thank God you were able to go home to your family and post here. An amazing story and it shows just how devastating an AT round can be. Now when you lose a vehicle in CM you can well imagine what's going on inside. Thanks for sharing that. -
Whats the best approach for clearing with infantry in MOUT
jtsjc1 replied to Pat O's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
I got CMBS when it was released and have played as much as possible but the transition between WWII and modern combat is huge. I'm still in a learning stage with it. In modern combat it seems you need massive amounts of suppressive fire and more smoke usage than WWII games. Also as others have stated an you can't hesitate when you're trying to neutralize a building, you've got to get in there as soon as possible. Unlike the WWII games the volume and accuracy of the fire in modern combat is deadly.- 33 replies

unrealistic tank movement/rotation in ww2 titles
jtsjc1 replied to Lacroix's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I would tend to agree tanks like the Sherman probably should be able to rotate faster since they're pretty nimble and don't have the mechanical problems the German TD's have. I guess the devs made a compromise like Vanir said due to the advantages tanks have. -

You read my mind. I got done reading The Combat History of 653 and very specific instruction were given to the Elefant drivers about how to steer, what kind of roads to drive on etc due to issues with the steering mechanism. They were instructed not to drive on uneven roads for example. Turning in place was very tough on the drive train. This was also true to some extent for the Jagdtiger. Great reading. -

More Bulge Info! (and a few screenshots...)
jtsjc1 replied to ChrisND's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Ah yes I can still remember playing Bulge scenarios from CMBO. That was good stuff back then and I'm anxious to see how its done in CMx2. -
Nice map and some pretty nasty field of fire. Those guys better run fast!

Best place in that building is the basement damn!

Nordwind should be nice a lot of heavy metal! -
+1 especially in BS as I have found out...

I would think more tanks were taken out by LATW than close combat. I'm sure most infantry were reluctant to approach a tank close enough to assault it. They'd probably rather get behind cover and wait for it to pass unless it was a direct threat. Just common sense I figure!

Chris was testing it Sunday on the Guantlets Crossed video.

Too bad the manuals aren't available separately. After buying the dl version I'm kicking myself for not getting hardcopy.

In Bulge maybe!

Yeah they got the whine of the turbine in the M1 pretty spot on.
