  1. well a M1/Challenger/leopard have good TIS, Chally and Leopard (and M1A2) have hunter/killer capacity, which increases spotting enormusly. Most russian made tanks have ****ty TIS (if they have one) and both tanks and BMP have ****ty observation capabilitys. if you add dust, darkness etc the difference becomes even greater. So if you hare humping Russian/syrian gear Im not supprised. And the Kornet... Much is up to the training of the crew on any ATGM. ATGM is a potent weapon but demands good training. so any bad modifier on your crews affects their capability to hit anything. And most russian made ATGMs aren't as good as modern US/NATO ones like Javelins etc. So what you seem to have experienced are normal. Just ****ty luck
  2. Nope, it isn't there, with the reason you stated. I wished we could have more post-invasion vehicles to...
  3. yeah I've been reacting to this to. What most I think about is that Turkey is raising its voice against Syria and now the US and UK agrees/talks about sanctions against Syria. All well known signs before ground troops invade. Suddenly CMSF seems to be so much closer to reality.
  4. Not really. all those rounds aren't deployed when deploying the AT gun.only a few caskets of rounds are unloaded. the rest is tucked away in the carrier normally.
  5. And not all scenarios are truly historical. some are just semi-historical.
  6. Much has happened in the patches since I wrote that tutorial. In the begining you could fire 40mm indoors without own casualtys But, like stikkypixie says, Build up the eny suppression with 40mm and 0.50cal. when they are suppressed switch over so a rifle squad fires TARGET LIGHT (to avoid firing 40mm) on the building. that should keep the enemy pinned while your other squads enter the building.
  7. Regarding the 2nd Mission in the campaign: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=81993&highlight=Airfield http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=93870&highlight=Airfield http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=81904&highlight=Airfield
  8. RPGs... Well you can never really get away from them as they are around in just about every squad, just like M136s. Much is up to your own judgement. If you think there is plenty of RPG against you it's a good idea to dismount 300m out or so and let the infantry assault on foot with the strykers staying 300m back giving supportive fire. When your infantry have moved forward cleaning stuff up you can move the strykers forward. You need to remember that Strykers and Bradleys arent tanks, they are infantry hauler and needs to be protected against ATGMs and RPGs. So you can't just charge up against a building like in my first post unless you have created a situation that allows it. Which means local fire superiority and controlling surrounding area. Regarding suppression; it's a good idea to let the suppressive fire work for at least 1-2 minutes before moving in so the enemy really gets suppressed and not just fired on. The enemy morale affects this allot to! Casualtys: you are pretty much guaranted to get them when fighting in buildings, cant avoid them really...
  9. Why You think I cut them so small? In the originals you can se stuff you haven't seen or been engaged by yet, so they are censored
  10. From a ongoing PBEM battle with Frankster65, Marines M1:s giving supportive fire and switching between firing positions.
  11. I haven't downloaded any NATO scenarios at all and I checked the game and there is no scenario called Reservoir Ridge and I cant find anything on the Repository so go ahead and upload it
  12. Yeah, Im back playing CMSF again, back to the modern setting!
  13. Finally! http://www.battlefront.com/community/announcement.php?f=56&a=424
  14. If I don't remember wrong this has been talked about in the CMSF forum part a long time back. The conclusion is simple really. Look at the turret front. The barrel, mounting. the holes for the optics etc makes up maybe 1/4 of the whole turret area. So Any round that does hit the front part of the turret has a great chance of hitting something specific to the guns function... There was allot of complains of M1s getting their guns whacked in the beginning of CMSF times to. So.... "Its been like this since CMSF"
  15. I second that! maybe go over them again to adjust for the improvements since 1.00 to the 1.31 we are at now to Yeah I know it will be allot of work but it would be appreciated
  16. gah, I so hate that people have different nicknames on different forums! (I got it myself.. but... yeah... you know...)
  17. Still want one more opponent? Cuz im up for it!
  18. in PT's campaign there is a mission where you are doing a delay with paratroopers, there you get exit zones which works well. BFC provides the tools, the scenario makers decides wether to use it or not to use it. Daft scenarios are upp to the maker. reminds me of a post a while back of someone bitching that units of 352:nd Inf Div had MG42 and BFC had ****ed it up... When its actually the scenario creator that ****ed it up giving the germans to high quality equiptment setting so they got 42 instead of 34s...
  19. How was the ground conditions? it might be bogged and then immobilized. normally it takes a few turns before it goes from bogged to immobilized...
  20. Doesn't Matther, it WASN'T like this in CMSF (Prisoners is something totally new for CMBN, there is nothing like it in CMSF)
  21. I hate and love the bocage! I hate it most of the time as I have to slug through it slowly field by field but I love it the few times I get to flank a enemy position alongside another bocage field!
  22. the only difference I notice when I play against AI or human by PBEM is my use of SMOKE. When playing AI I use smoke much more to conceal movement. Doing that against a human player is saying "here I am doing something". So I use it much less or use it as a distraction, putting smoke down on a side I'm not moving up on and then focus the assault on another side where he didn't expect it. I never replay or re-load a save game to get better score. I always do it on one attempt. If I screw up I screw up, nothing more about that. But then I like to replay same scenario later on if it was a good one - because it was a good one, not to get better score.
  23. I have been using Bazookas with great deal of effect. Especially against Bunkers. but I rarely fire above 50m away, and so far 4 out of 5 rounds hit their mark. A normal reflection is that the enemy panzerschreek/bazooka are to accurat and your own cant hit the wide side of a barn
