  1. after seing that video im sure that the scaling is right. the CV9035NL IS bigger then the normal CV90 family! a mayor difference as well is that it has a ramp dropping down like the bradley instead of a door like the CV9040 has. Wonder why they wanted an enlarged bodie, that fighting compartment isnt that small really, we had guys that was 1.80-1.90 that didnt have problem fitting in.
  2. pretty much yes. but I tend to keep the platoon HQ with the squads, the Command chain is much more needed there then with the MG squad. and keep your APCs back so RPGs cant get them. I try to keep atleast 100m between the squad and the APC. Edit: if you assault with one platoon you should have one platoon in overwatch for best effect.
  3. from the new excellent screenshots I reacted on one thing: either the CV9035 is modelled to big, or the dutch people are midgets, or the screenshot just ****s it up? I spent 10 months in a CV9040 Mech Coy and that rear door I had to hunk down to get thrue, not be able to stand straight up while walking into the fighting compartment. look at this CV9040C picture for example, So something seems wrong, but what is it? /Thomas
  4. Combat Mission: NormandyFlares! Im all in for it! but yeah seriusly. some night illumination is needed for CM:N. NVG Gen 3+ wasnt invented in 1944 even thoe the technology was tested in combat in 1945. (now thats something for later modules!)
  5. no. the C2 with canadians and LAV III enables us to do more afghanistan missions so that they wouldnt be in a Syria invasion doesnt matther. more flexibility to the people!
  6. oh thanks! the Leopards are so evil, I love them that L55 is impressing... even thoe a dutch friend thats a Leo 2A6 tanker complained that the extra lenght is at disatvantages in some terrains, like forest and such, they tended to stick the barrel into mud frequently. but considering the terrain of Syria that wouldnt be a problem
  7. akd: I cheated and used a buildings wall texture and swapped with, so I atleast could get the sandcoloured walls. will try to get something betther finished later on. your crop texture sounds intressting! I havent had the time to work on this scenario for a while now thoe, but I hope to get some more time for it soon
  8. Holy christ! I dont got word enough for this... your work is... beautiful!
  9. this has been covered a few times already, take a read of this threads and your answers will be in there http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=91774&highlight=minefields http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=84190&highlight=minefields http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=81945&highlight=minefields
  10. actually yes, in darkness where older T- series /BMPs are totally blind you can take the risk of long range firing at them. but its a risk because there is still a random chance they spot you and nail you. but hey, war is risks
  11. oh T-55s. well i think they have GAS but the downside with GAS is that it has no own TIS so in the dark it needs a seperate light source. while the LAV does have TIS... Anyway the T-55s night vision capability sucks anyway, active IR if I dont remember wrong.
  12. Earl Grey: when all the fancy optics are turned unusable the tank gunner just switch to his GAS, Gunners Auxiliary Sight. its zeroed at 1200m mostly but can be changed. so your'e smoked anyway. and going head to head with a MTB is stupid for a IFV. Sweden uses CV9040 wich has a really potent gun, it can nail most modern MBTs side and rear with a few shots. In the begining on exercises the CV90 crews was stupidly engaging MBTs whenever they got the chance. they got whiped out damn fast, untill we hade same casualty rate as we had with the old PBV302. so they learned to call in the tanks instead as they should. then they casualty rate dropped to "normal" so to say. The fact the gun can penetrate sides of MBTs doesnt mean they should engage MBTs, more that they can be used in self defence in pressed situations.
  13. damn thats amazing! but is it playable? I mean it must lag like **** when you have like a few companys on the map and allot of fires etc?
  14. this won't end well... Warrior in battleposition, supporting the dismounts assault forward
  15. the camo you see on the challenger is BATUS and Salisbury Plain camo. never been used in any theather.
  16. thanks for the input, Guess I got some more work to do then
  17. thats thrue, I have started to remove windows from most buildings, leaving 1 door and 1-2 windows left (depending on size of house) Im gonna add allot of engineers so the walls/houses can be breached as thats gonna be needed to move in a village like this
  18. there is some buildings that have the darker brown. about 1/5th of them have the darker one. I dont want to mix to much as when I looked at the pics of helmand villages what strikes me is that they all have pretty much the same colour (well, same mud...) so they all look the same kinda. But sure some more mix isnt wrong either. UAV view: Terrain description: small village in center, right of the village the desert starts with small hills. left of village is agricultured area softly sloping down to the river. left of that is the dryed out river (wadi?) and left of that is the begining of a chain of mountains. from scenario editor:
  19. So, Im working on my first CSMF scenario ever (slow and painful so far...) and it will be british light infantry against insurgents in Helmand. Ghorak is the village that gaved me the idea but I havent bothered doing the whole Ghorak, just a small portion with allot of "artistic license". As this is the first time doing terrain I want some feedback/input on it. I would appreciate if anyone with experience could download and check out the terrain and tell me what you like and what must be changed. this is the current state of Ghorak, I havent started adding any flavor objects yet, I will do that when I feel the terrain is 100% done. The Idea for the scenario is from this: http://helmandblog.blogspot.com/2009/10/rifles-launch-assault-on-taliban-drugs.html But my plan so far is 3 platoons with engineer support (bunch of walls to breach thrue) and a fire support group in TUM WMIKs. Enemy will be insurgents with IEDs and there will be preserve status on some of the buildings but plenty of air assets. /Thomas https://www.yousendit.com/download/dXFXWUhzQ1AwMEd4dnc9PQ
  20. I think only the Company gets a name, the platoons and squad within the company gets a number. like "Assasin one one" is 1st squad 1st platoon in a company named Assasin. and about only assualting with 2plts. no problem. the 3rd platoon can be in reserve, can move out to flank the enemy (seal of the enemys retreat etc) or something like that. about names on objectives, this is what i think: they come from higher upp, above battalion level (big objects like MSR or battalion targets etc) then you name own areas of intrest or targets localy/temperely on battalion/Company level. Ex: Regiment names 3 intersections Alpha,Bravo,Charlie and tells your battalion to take Alpha, 2nd battalion takes Bravo etc. Battalion HQ checks the area on the map, defines som referencepoints/ objects needed to be taken, Names them "custers hill" "Saratoga" "yorktown" and tells each of its Coys to take each of them. Then the company commander looks at the map, and defines hes reference points/objects needed to be taken and either just gives them a RP number or name them. And I cant wait to play 2nd mission, tell me its a LAR platoon thats the recce?
  21. Considering the amount of Finnish speaking people in Sweden it looks to me like you are already invading us.
  22. Sounds wonderful PT, looking forward to try the campaign out
  23. not to become homo-erotic webwing but I love you Like the only reason why I havent bothered modding any skins for CMSF is that I had to do new templates, wich I cant be arsed with doing nowadays... /Thompa
