  1. WTF, is this the renowned cesspool, scourge of pompous players and home to men of razor wit and finely honed sarcasm or some nerdy geeky civil war club? Sheesh. This isn't even a combat mission discussion.
  2. And the saddest part is after all that modding the next module for BF would likely have all that. You are probably better off simply preparing your campaign and then just changing the date on it once the next module is out.
  3. Not sure, am not in position to check for a week. Perhaps GAJ can chime in.
  4. CM helper is for all and is the latest incarnation of hthh
  5. That particular issue is probably generated by how spotting is designed, not in the sense of the terrain, but when the spotting cycles kick in. However one item that you could change (and it appears you might have) is the arc itself. If you are going to have a narrow arc you should only do so if the exposed area for the team is narrow. A target armor arc's primary function is to prevent the team from wasting time on infantry and long distance low odds targets. I rarely use it to focus the actual direction of the attack. Using a 360 degree arc is all I typically use for those teams.
  6. And you need to be at 2.12, don't forget the patch before upgrading
  7. Not at home to try, gimme a week, but I have used it playing around with the Venafro map but only on a very limited check. I'll need to focus on it a bit to give you a better answer.
  8. You need some mud tiles modded as rubble. These guys need to risk bogging in some of this stuff
  9. Part of definition is also scale. I am still kind of enamored with a regimental versus multi division scale meta campaign. From my perspective this is generally the source of why most meta campaigns flounder and eventually falter. They are simply too ambitious. A 3 day campaign with the op layer consisting of a regiment or two eliminates a lot of the overhead one might see in dealing with corp level combat.
  10. Not that they shouldn't include it but citing two examples to argue for policy sounds more like one is arguing for the exception to the rule become the standard. I think at this point that BF has said it will hope to institute it is enough to close off the discussion. It may happen, it might not. The deciding factor is workload. Period.
  11. Perhaps yes, but the real question is how much this really applies to a CM scale scenario and whether it makes sense to spend the effort to make it inherently part of unit capability. Most CM battles are focused around taking the objective, whether their digging in on the objective took 5 minutes or 50 doesn't really matter if the scenario is already over.
  12. Yep, it becomes a sort of self fulfilling prophecy. However there are plenty of decent people who couldn't care a less one's gender.
  13. That is simple enough to do, the foxholes just show up as reinforcements and not the core forces. And yes more appropriate. While it is true that soldiers would routinely be told to dig in upon reaching an objective, the timing for them to dig in and the enemy counterattack would typically not happen within the scope of a single scenario in CM. Not impossible, but you'd have to take about a 4 hour scenario and leave a huge gap of boring nothingness to simulate the digging in period. I have never tried to add foxholes in as reinforcements, but it might be worth someone's time who cares to actually simulate this ( I don't ). Take a scenario, add fortifications and see if you can add them to a reinforcement group.
  14. It is also on the repository http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=3211
  15. Nov 1st. Patch comes out fixes placement issue Nov 2nd set up turn sent Nov 3rd 10 am first action turn received Nov 3rd. 10:01:30 second mark smoke round falls on street in front of house Nov 3rd. 10:01:40 am Rage quit
  16. A short target arc will prevent them firing "most" of the time. You can use alt-p to show all movement paths. It won't show other order types like targeting orders.
  17. Hey don't underestimate me, cottonmouth is nothing new! You do have to admit that was one of the funnest threads ever on this forum. For those who missed it there were several pages of buildup, but this is when it really took off http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=110856&page=7
  18. Cheating? Why isn't the point of area fire to suppress the area? Sounds like it works as intended.
  19. Just an FYI if you want to give an exact location, in the editor if you hold your cursor over a spot it will give you an x,y coordinate. Saves time trying to ID a location. I realize you may want to avoid getting intel in a battle, but as long as you don't touch the units tab you will get no info on the opposition.
  20. But that's where you are wrong Wicky. Having been at many a dead show and properly medicated I am in fact quote jealous of the whatever it is JK has got his hands on.
  21. Yeah let me see, I can't name names because of the risk, but I can spill every little detail I hear to the world cause no one could ever figure out who told me.
  22. Right you are old boy. Why it's good for the lower classes you know, too many mouths to feed after all. Quite right. Yes a glass would do nicely old chap. Why I was just hearing the other day of some poor sod stuffing donuts in his helmet. True he was American, but after all they are all from the lower classes anyway. Probably pilfered them I should say.
  23. Yeah that was pretty much my assessment. One of the most brutal down to the wire scenarios I have played. At every point I thought I had worn the enemy down and now I could sit back on my laurels, they hit me again.
