  1. To be brutally honest, you know I love your work, but CMSF 2 will likely kill anyone's incentive to load CMSF again. Not just an issue of the capabilities of the engine, CMSF is just a laborious process to install even if you have that process down. I would advise you to not spend too much time on it just to see your work get little to no exposure as new players will never buy CMSF to run them. That would be the saddest result after all the effort you put in. I think @MOS:96B2P came up with some pretty creative ways to separate units that he didn't want in his scenario or wanted to utilize for different things. There may be other ways to skin that cat and if there aren't I'd still consider just moving with those particular shortcomings and work in the new version. I fully expect to delete CMSF from my hard drive once CMSF2 is GA. Sad moment and I'll probably have quite a few drinks in it's memory, but just like I left behind CMx1, it is time to move on. On top of that, are you really willing to give up all the new capabilities of CMSF 2 for the few items you can't do from CMSF? Triggers, better AI commands, better tactical options, better models etc etc. Seems a bit like you are letting a few items cloud your view of the creative potential in the new engine.
  2. Yeah I know what he is referring to and I don't think it really shows in any of those, but yes there really is something to the statement. Maybe as we get more screenshots up.
  3. For being God Emperor you just had something zip right over your head. Guess you'll just have to wait and see.
  4. I just keep mine on a cloud share drive. Actually a couple.
  5. if @Sgt.Squarehead can do this in CMSF ……
  6. ha I think someone might have slipped in a mod....
  7. This is CMSF 2008 not Syria 2018 But you can make of it what you want- CMSF is the best CM sandbox/playground of them all.
  8. Ha the mother of all maps! It needs a thread of it's own.
  9. not in the same way. The down voting became almost a form of bullying.
  10. Yep thing to know. CMSF2 follows the same folder rules as CMBS etal CMSF as you already know does not so they won’t be sharing a documents folder for scenarios, saves etc.
  11. Damn I knew the yellow tint to the water was becoming visible. I really shouldn’t swim after a beer binge.
  12. The bigger issue (at least to me) isn’t so much where I place the movement point, but what happens when I get a traffic jam. That is the real killer - timing. And of course unexpected events that cause a vehicle to react and suddenly my well planned traffic flow goes to hell. Even a single bogged vehicle can cause a pile up and begin the vehicle dance. This tends to make me very conservative in my large scale vehicle movements. I move smaller sections maybe 4-5 vehicles tops if they are following the same route.
  13. Didn’t amazon pick it up? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Expanse_(TV_series) In May 2018, Syfy did not purchase the rights for future seasons, because of reportedly restrictive distribution arrangements, and announced it was cancelled. Alcon looked for other channels to distribute future seasons.[20][21] Fans protested the cancellation, gathering over 100,000 signatures for an online petition. They lobbied Amazon Studios and Netflix to pick the series up; a crowdfunding campaign paid for an airplane to fly a "#SaveTheExpanse" banner around Amazon Studios.[22] Celebrities including Wil Wheaton, George R. R. Martin, Patton Oswalt and Andreas Mogensen supported the campaign.[23] On May 26, at the International Space Development Conference, Jeff Bezos announced that Amazon picked the series up for additional seasons.
  14. Yeah all those complaints about uber M1s in CMBS... come play CMSF2 they are quite a bit more vulnerable to long range ATGMs. And no killer robot responses. NATO still spots a lot better but not with the extreme reaction times in the more modern CMBS. As for mods I think there will be a whole new spectrum of things. Kieme’s buildings are still good and the newer sound mods should work. Beyond that we are in a whole new world what with mod tags etc. I already have my list prepared to request from modders on top of what I already have asked of Mord.
  15. I think Steve only posted part of the store info. Yes CMSF2 is available as a full brand new game for those who did not own prior. In your case you should be able to utilize the upgrade price for the base game but I’d assume not be able to get the lower upgrade price for the modules. But don’t quote me on that
  16. No. He lives in Steve Ville. Steve ville is in a time zone of it's own that dynamically alters itself relative to GMT on a whim. Geez do I have to explain everything?!
  17. As you might guess from my Sig, my campaigns with Broadsword featured the 352nd ID. A line infantry unit without all the uber toys, armor etc. It really enhanced the experience for me to have to adjust my capabilities to what I was actually able to accomplish and recognize what my weaknesses were in trying to build a battle plan. It also helped that I had a unit that had a history and I played them through a campaign. It also helped that I had Mord/DKs mod for the UI displaying the emblem of the 352nd. That's it! You need an actual OPFOR unit to make this personal and Mord to fix your UI!
  18. Man you guys have a really really flat learning curve..... It was written in Steve time. Maybe tonight. Maybe tonight somewhere in the world...…. Actually I expect it will be tonight, but he does keep weird freakin hours.
  19. That is odd. I have never had them choose an alternate path when crossing.
  20. Doesn’t look,like anything to me.
  21. Just for clarification, are you crossing the tracks or following? If crossing I have never had an issue with that. Could be something else like underlying terrain.
