  1. Seems negotiations are not going that well. I find it hard to believe that it is unrelated to the escalating trade war with China. Whatever the Trump administration thought they had agreement on in Singapore it would have been predicated on the N Korean's part on where China stood. Now that China finds itself locked in a very adversarial relationship with this administration it is a pretty good bet that whatever adherence there was to sanctions just went by the wayside. N Korea is going to feel their negotiating position just got stronger. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/north-korea-calls-us-attitude-toward-talks-‘regrettable’-rejecting-pompeo’s-claim-meetings-were-‘productive’/ar-AAzGUx9?ocid=spartanntp Just hours after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo departed North Korea after two days of nuclear negotiations, North Korea sharply criticized the U.S. team's attitude as “regrettable,” and accused the U.S. of making unilateral demands of denuclearization. The remarks from North Korea’s foreign ministry directly contradicted statements made by Pompeo that the visit made “progress on almost all of the central issues” and involved “good-faith negotiations.”
  2. Yeah what Ian said. You can be pretty sure I've opened your scenarios a few dozen times. However I would still suggest waiting as there are more options with CMSF2 so you may likely end up redoing some of it anyway. (for example mod tags, overlays etc) I would go ahead with the wine though!
  3. Yep!! Hated that. I'll have to remember this post when I get to put up a screenshot of a particular moment in CMSF2.
  4. Well as Civil Works manager you technically are in charge of the crappers. Just sayin.
  5. I am gonna assume someone has been having a very nice time in Amsterdam for the past couple weeks.
  6. Or pick another side that also has them say... oh... maybe the Brits?
  7. Who are you asking and what context? You are getting replies that might not be relevant to your question.
  8. God I love that, it needs to be the name of a scenario
  9. The models are still being worked on so they are not zooming in on them, but the ones you are seeing are in fact new. You just can’t tell yet.
  10. Hopefully a sign that it's optics got shredded. Also may have resulted in some soiled underwear for your opponent. Planning a turn is never good when you are sitting there in soiled underwear. Challengers are a beast, but they do have some serious weak points if you can hit em. Unfortunately the turret isn't one of them.
  11. One item that may not mean a lot to many folks, but I really appreciate is in CMSF you have MOUT Formation options for mech and Stryker infantry. Those units then function as three 3 man teams versus the standard 5 man and 4 man teams. Learned that from Chris - it was how he deployed his airborne in TF panther. A bit more flexibility and you can deploy them with Humvees instead of Brads and Strykers (the standard Humvee and the 240B can both carry 3 dismounts). From that you can create a whole different experience in scenarios.
  12. Sorry about that, not intended. Just trying to be clear on how you set your expectations, and not just you. There have been several different threads in this vein. Basically CMSF2 is not going to update the CM 4 engine (and no this is not related to the patch discussion) - any expectation that you will see engine updates is not in line with any announcement from BF. The setting is still the fictional Syria 2008 and there will not be any modern additions that do not fit that timeline. Within that it plays totally different than WW2. Fighting is much more lethal. AT capabilities are much better. The difference between CMSF and CMBS has more to do with the intervening 10 years of technology (mostly electronics) updates. The advantage over CMBS is that low grade forces still have a good chance and the uber spotting capabilities in CMBS are not there yet. ATGMs and even just RPGs are much more survivable. M1s are not the super tank of CMBS. Until BF has fully finalized the game though it is hard to say for sure what will or won't be in it and those statements will have to come from them. All that said- if it isn't speaking to you, don't buy it. True of any product. When and if it does at some point it will still be here. No need to rush in.
  13. I am not sure how to make it any clearer. CMSF units are 2008 oriented. If you don't get how that changes things relative to WW2 titles I am not sure any amount of explaining on my part is gonna help. Watch the AAR and maybe that will help. I am also confused as to why you feel it needs to add some new capabilities if you never owned it in the first place. I think you'll just have to decide for yourself as to whether it has value based on your own priorities. Not every version of CM is for every player. I love CMSF and getting 4.0 features in the game is a dream come true. Even little things like target briefly make the game totally new. But that is me, if the premise and combat/timeline for CMSF didn't appeal to you, CMSF2 is not gonna change that.
  14. Once again folks are projecting 2018 on 2008.
  15. It is NOT just a visual modification. Unit capabilities are significantly different. You might just as well say why buy CMBN, it is just a visual modification. If you are not familiar with unit capabilities from CMSF, then you simply do not have enough data. And CMSF is the only game with IEDs, spies and uncons. nuff said
  16. It is not a "bug" it is attention to how the AI may react in a given set of circumstances. They can't program a "correct" response for everything the game may have as a result.
  17. As noted before Steve has said he will not do this. As I recall one example he used is suppose you and I are going to play a PBEM. How do I know you have not edited the ToE? That was just one example of how this becomes impractical pretty quickly from their view. CM is not the game you are trying to turn it into. As with all of us who have wish lists (me included), you have to compromise them based on what CM really is not what you or I wish it was.
  18. I am not a modder so take this for what it is worth..... CMSF is being brought up to CMBS standard so I would assume the effort to mod would be very similar.
  19. No CMSF2 is a new game. You do not need cmsf1 at all. Price not sure of BF is moving the store and as soon as it is back up it’ll be on the store page.
  20. More on steps by N Korea that don't build confidence. Intel assessment is N Korea likely has a second facility for production and there are no signs they are altering production plans https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/north-korea-has-increased-nuclear-production-at-secret-sites-say-us-officials/ar-AAzmpc8?ocid=spartanntp While the North Koreans have stopped missile and nuclear tests, "there's no evidence that they are decreasing stockpiles, or that they have stopped their production," said one U.S. official briefed on the latest intelligence. "There is absolutely unequivocal evidence that they are trying to deceive the U.S." Four other officials familiar with the intelligence assessment also said North Korea intended to deceive the U.S. U.S. intelligence agencies have stepped up their collection against North Korea in recent years, and it appears to be paying off with greater insights into a country that has long been the world's hardest spying target, officials say. NBC News agreed to withhold some details of the latest intelligence assessment that officials said could put sources at risk. "There are lots of things that we know that North Korea has tried to hide from us for a long time," a U.S. intelligence official said. It's long been understood that North Korea had at least one undeclared facility to enrich nuclear fuel, aside from Yongbyon, its main nuclear site.
  21. Whhhaaaaattt???!!! Just kidding. I think there are a few people who play it very little. Instead mostly using it as a 3D modelling tool.
  22. Cool I think you'll find your self quite busy. Imagine CMBS with 3 modules- that is what you'll get day 1 with CMSF2
  23. It is Syria 2008. Again read Steve's posts. The game is being brought up to current engine standards. BF has been very clear that any alteration in ToE is very limited and mostly based on capabilities of the engine (on board mortars) and not player wish lists for new units. My advice - stop looking for easter egg surprises. However Syrian Mech airborne does have BMP 3 in CMSF1. I honestly have no idea if Syria ever had BMDs
  24. Not exactly suree what you mean, but to set expectations. CMSF2 is a ton of work just to get to current levels. BF is doing a lot of work to polish it, but if you are looking for something completely different you may want to reset expectations. The models etc are all redone so they are more on CMBS standard, but it is the same force mix. It is not Syria 2018. Folks have this tendency to assume what they want to see will be in a CM game without paying attention to what has been said - see the disappointed thread for a really good example. I suggest rereading Steve's posts for clarity on what CMSF2 is and isn't.
