  1. they are like Marmite , love or hate thing , no in-between.
  2. Yeah Phil , grabbed the CMSF module bundle as soon as it came out and have never looked back Despite the fictional conflict and bland terrain (IMO) there are some extremely enjoyable tactical problems to solve , very rewarding when it all works out Hope the new member of family is doing well, hope you are managing to get some sleep these days
  3. Metal note to listen to you more often Ah really , didnt spot that in this circumstance due to lack of incoming fire. Thanks for the tip. hmm , ok so i looks good but split teams is better. thanks again.
  4. Just realised that when using the ASSAULT command in CMSF twice (ie two legs) the teams bunny hop i.e team one from home to leg 1 then stops and covers while team two gets to leg 1 , then team one jumps to leg two etc .... how cool is that .... tentative link to CMBN i know.
  5. not that bothered by the rockin' (strums guitar) when viewing the video AAR , simply didnt notice it, opinion may change when playing though.
  6. IIRC you can purchase bunkers with AT assets already enclosed but cannot put other AT assets into them (or vehicles).
  7. " a learning curve " is about right. Took me a while to enjoy it coming from CMAK but after some time and reading about how great the CMx2 engine is i would honestly never look at CMx1 every again , CMx1 just seams like a waste of time to me know knowing that CMx1 is engineered and CMx2 recreates the environmental variables.
  8. you can probably add the sound effect yourself by amending a wav file ( or what ever is used) .... replace "tweating burd 2" but the sound of the pipes
  9. Yeah CMSF wont get looked at by me when CMBN is released. Prefer historical , prefer temperate , plus CMBN has new stuff too like water, bridges, ammo per unit values instead of the ammo bars , will be 100s of little things like this that will make it better. When CMSF 2 makes an entry into the temperate environment i will be interested again , it will have a tonne of new stuff too. CMSF has created some interest in modern combat i will admit. Oh and when a great modern combat film comes out its sometimes relights the modern combat flame for me , recreate the situation , stuff like that can sometimes renew interest. Suspect CMSF will always feel a bit limited compared to CMBN.
  10. Brilliant , thank you for the update. From a fan point of view it was a form of torture checking this forum several times a day looking for any hint of a release. Spot of clarity from you chaps on progress was all that was needed to manage the expectation and help us plan our time. Much happier knowing what is going on no matter how long it will take, thank you for that
  11. its not a case of that honest , just some honest feedback. Could have looked even better is all im saying. Good point someone made about trying to get the CMx2 screenshots to look like the CMx1 ones though.
  12. Find me any software engineer that is happy to release code that's not finished Also BF have not committed to an exact date, they have no commercial pressures to release (i.e no publisher or investors to satisfy with a return within X time), they have time on their side , unlikely users will walk away within the time frames. Absolutely no reason at all for them to release until they think its good enough (not perfect as that would take years and an endless to do list im sure) but close enough to tick most the boxes.
  13. Agree the action spots are not ideal. Managing individual soldiers to exact position on some occasions would be helpful. Understandable its a limitation of the engine that maybe CMx3 will address. Its not a show stopped though , moving an entire squad is obviously more usable , on some occasion exact placement can make the difference though.
  14. hmm , make the demo better , get the marketing sorted , can see any major improvements getting sorted at this stage ( IMO )
  15. Vid is not bad, much of the new CMBN footage could have made better use of the new map editor material though. Thinking back to how wonderful the early CMBN screenshots looked , much of the map footage looked a bit bland in this vid , could have been made more realistic looking with the tools available.
  16. Thanks for the reply , points well made as always
  17. thanks for the reply chaps, totally understand things can crop up , all i am saying is keep us in the loop at this stage i.e likely next week, something cropped up its going to be another week. At this stage of the dev there all the unknowns must be known and the resulting impact.
  18. Thinking about this a little more , this is not a moan honest just a question out of curiosity. From what Charlie said above BF have told (have been telling) third parties that the demo is likely to be released next week. At this stage what is stopping Battlefront from letting the loyal fan base know what is likely to happen too ? - Would help manage customer expectation. - Third parties obviously have more information than the fan base (i assume from a marketing point of view). - At this stage in the development cycle 100% of the unknowns are likely to be known (that is to say there are no unknown unknowns). - Many of us have been around BF products for over a decade and have purchased most of if not all of the CM software. - Would allow the user base to plan their time. Many of us have busy lives. In the grand scheme of things i guess if its 1 week or 2 weeks it doesn't matter much. All im saying is it would help the end users plan our time come release day. Best regards Scott
  19. Thank you for taking the time to post and clarify Charlie. All the best Scott

  23. agree the foxholes don't look quiet right but fog-of-war is more important IMO.
