  1. I'd have thought they would be pretty important for winter '42 battles set around Stalingrad in the future CM East front late '42 game?
  2. I do still feel at times their reaction to incoming and going buttoned is a little slow. Bullets are pinging of the tank yet the TC still sits there..sometimes to late to get down where I'd have thought he would have dropped down ASAP.
  3. Half way through the first scenario and as usual George is making somehting special. Really enjoying it so far and it bodes well for the rest of the camapign.
  4. It was the brit module that really bought CMSF to life for me. So I too really want to see a Brit module for BS. I think in CMSF it was because the sides became a touch more equal. SO I expect the Brits to be up against it in BS. Which adds to the excitement.
  5. WEGO only for me..always has been always will be. If it was ever dropped then I wouldn't buy any future games. Thanks for the tips everyone!
  6. May your pixeltruppen be blessed with good luck. I'm sure they are looking forward to their new commander! (To be honest you can't go wrong with any of them. Personally and if you have the money I'd go for CMBN and it's modules next. You'll never be short of a new scenario to play, plus lots of campaigns both by BF and user made. Oh and make sure you get JuJu's UI mod and everything by Aris including his terrain. This applies to both CMRT and CMBN and CMFI (though not sure what Aris has made for CMFI)).
  7. OK that's fair enough. Obviously my gameplay. I shall have to learn how to reduce the occurance. As with many of the "issues" people nrimng up about the game it usually boils down o poor pla by the player and not an issue with the game. I'm obviously taking to many risks with unbuttoned Tanks. Thanks for the clarification. Aslong as I know others have no issue I'm happy in the knowledge that it's my fault and need to re evaluate how I play. When posts like this I made I do think people who don't have a the particular issue should explain how they go about things in game so there isn't any problem. That way the poster can learn something rather than just dismissing any problem with no further explanation. So thanks for the tips. I have to be less gung ho and not get to close to possible enemy postions with unbuttoned tanks.
  8. My only gripe with the series is how easy it still is to loose a tank commander or halftrack gunner when in open state. It's almost garunteed that the first volley will take them out there by making unbuttoned mechanic not worth it, plus when it comes to halftracks making their teeth pretty toothless. Personally I think either it's way o easy to pick of that head sticking up or they should at least be quicker dropping back down to safety. The Germans I beleive spent alot of time unbuttoned in their tanks and I'm sure if what happens in the game happened in real life then either there was a severe casualty rate for German tank commanders or the policy would be to only unbutton when in known friendly territory plus only those who wnat to commit suicide would man a halftrack MG. It just seems to easy for them to get hit. I do know this has been brought before and I know halftrack gunners where hunkered down abit more awhile ago, though personally I noiced no difference. This really is my only gripe with a series I truely love.
  9. OK then it's obvious I'm missing something here. Can anyone recommend some good scenarios for single play?
  10. Yeah there will be no game based around Stalingrad..I'm certain.
  11. The answer to your question is simple..what War\Theater have you the most interest in out of the two? Which ever it is is the one to buy.
  12. Maybe I need to give it some more love then. I think the word I'm looking for on how I feel about it when playing is "detached"..
  13. I'm not normally into modern warfare. Though CMSF with the Brit module I really got into so was looking forward to BS. Now after having it since near release I'm not sure how I feel about it. I will say out of CMBN and all modules, CMRT and CMBS then CMBS it is my last choice if I fancy a CM game. I'd say CMBN with all the modules is most played closely followed by CMRT. I can't put my finger on why BS isn't really inspiring me. Was considering the lethality after the WW2 games, but then CMSF was and I was happy, or one reason maybe that the campaigns (which I love in CM games) start off with loads of units when I prefer a gradual build up and to be honest with large scenarios I do tend to stay away from. I'm hoping just like CMSF it suddenly starts to shine for me when a future module is released..CMSF did when the Brit module came out. Anyone else feel the same way?
  14. For a long time I never split..now I always do as a matter of course. Certainly helps in reducing casualties!
  15. We know the plan is to cover the whole of the invasion with a serie sof games and modules..so not sure why some here are saying BF will never do a STalingrad scenario..I'm sure in the game covering that period we will get a few..like Pavlov's house and the pioneer factory attacks etc. As for the mod..can't wait!! Good work chaps..
  16. Squad Battles series might be something your after. However play CMx2 games using WEGO mode. Your in no rush then. Also no one is going to come down hard on you if you have to back to previous save etc..the mistakes you make you learn from.
  17. AFter a total WIndows re install I lost my Z folder. I can't find a splash screen mod that had drawings\artwork similar style to the battle scenes you find in the Osprey books. Anyone know the one I'm looking for and where to find it?
  18. Only Graviteam Tactics comes as close. CMx2 and GTOS are by far my go to tactical wargames. All others like MoW, CoH, Wargame Air Land Battle and Theater of War are arcade games not battlefield sims.
  19. Amazing. Salingrad is the action I've been waiting for with regards to CMRT.
  20. Anyone know of any scenarios made for play against the AI using his mod and map? Shame if not as it's a work of tactical wargaming loveliness. Thanks
  21. Good things come to those who wait and all that...
