  1. This isn't an easy game to play esp if your used to things like Wargame Air Land battle or COH. I say go WEGO and never rush your troops anywhere as you'll die and recon by fire is your friend. Also split your squads, that way if a mistake happens you wont loose all of them. Also save each turn..if things go veyr wrong relaod the turn and try something else..doing this you'll start to see what works and what doesn't.
  2. Posted a thread similar..I agree whole heartedly!
  3. Recon by fire is very important in this scenario esp when assaulting a building and using demo charges, make sure your MG's etc can cover the gap and spray the building!!
  4. Using an AMD R270 card I have to have the shadows off as they flicker and at certain angles look bad.
  5. Wouldn't want loads of blood, just maybe similar to the small hit decals the soldier gets a small red bullet hole decal.
  6. Russian 30mm doesn't cause hit decals, just noticed this.
  7. Another huge plus for me is that we have a good selection of low unit count scenarios ( Even the first campaign scenario I tried has eased me into it)! Something I found lacking abit in Red Thunder esp the campaigns which straight away put you into big battles with a fair amount of units.
  8. I want to see better inf animations to, especially running. Plus some actual blood or damage showing on the soldiers. For instance if heavy Arty hits some infnatry I'd like to see hardly anything left. Yes it does sound bloodthristy but I feel it shows how gruesome war is and doesn't sanitize it which is how it feels at the moment.
  9. Gauntlets Crossed is a scenario to try if your finding it lethal. You'll be surprised how intense and long Inf firefights last when in buildings. Feels very realistic. Really recommend the scenario as a starter.
  10. I've seen hit decals. So they are in there.
  11. For those who are finding the game lethal try this little scenario. I'm surprised by the amount of lead being fired how few casualties there have been (I cease fired after twenty five turns and was shocked to see the Russians only have 2 killed and five wounded). It's a superb firefight that feels realistic. Highly recommend it as a starter scenario!
  12. You've done an excellent job going by the photos..but boy is that an ugly camo scheme!
  13. WEGO only. It's why CMx2 is my No1 tactical wargame. However others love realtime. It's great both are catered for.
  14. I never bother with QB as I'm a solo player only. I see that feature for H2H. The AI isn't designed for QB. It's premade scenarios where it can shine. It has been mentioned many time son the forum not to expect QB to play well at times if playing the AI.
  15. Played a few hours today and even though I'm an East front obsessive I'm tending to think this is the best CM yet. The stock graphics for starters are streets ahead I feel on previous titles, esp the terrain. The selection of toys is a joy and so far the scenarios I've played have been superbly designed and have excellent terrain features\layout. A HUGE thumbs up from me. Far exceeds my already high expectations! I can't wait for future modules. Who else thinks this could\is the best CMx2 to date? I've announced the release on my Tactical Wargames FB page and so far it's getting excellent comments.
  16. Will buy Monday! Those who never played CMSF will be hugely delighted with the modern toys!! They are devastating and great to watch. Actually.. downloading now!!!
  17. Yes it is. It's the most mature and grog like tactical wargame out there. Graviteam Tactics comes close but it's realtime only which loses marks for me.
  18. Are the Free French forces in the expansion at all? As it seems they had apart to play during Cassino battles.
  19. You can install on any drive and to download to a different drive that will be your browser settings.
  20. Personally I enjoyed Fury for what it was. I also liked the fact the tank crew where not flawless heroes who you would be happy if they dated your daughter but cynical, unpleasant and probably far more historically correct than 99% of War movies made before.I've read enough books now to know that some of those medal winning heroes of WW1 and WW2 where actually pretty unpleasant people ranging from being a bully to criminality and someone if there hadn't been a War you'd have stayed well clear of.
