  2. Besieged by Jason Mark is a superb book on the battle. Just like all his other books it's easy one of my favourite WW2 history books. http://www.leapinghorseman.com/proddetail.php?prod=9780975107690&cat=5 http://www.helion.co.uk/besieged-the-epic-battle-for-cholm.html So really pleased to see a scenario set here. I want to make some scenarios for another turn based game.
  3. RockinHarry..CMFB is well worth it mate..one of my favourites so far, even though I'm sick of the Bulge.
  4. Just a reminder for you to check out the blog if you have a spare min or two. Just recently two war board game reviews, a PC wargame review and a book review have been published. Plus we have three PC games and another board game in the process of being reviewed. Also next week I get hold of the first selection of minifigs for review as United Bricks and Little Legends have sent out some gems for review, so finally can get that section of the blog off the ground. I have five of the major military minifig companies signed up. Regarding book reviews along with Pen and Sword I've just had confirmation Leaping Horseman and Casemate publishing will be letting us review their books. Plus I hope to be able to start up a model kit section in the very near future. Also don't forget all future Combat Mission games will be reviewed. Oh and look out for some long promised interviews. Have four currently in the pipeline. Check the "Incoming" section to get a taste of what's coming soon. BLOG LINK ENJOY
  5. Self preservation also comes into it when comparing casualties with real life. In game all your pixeltruppen are being the small percent in real life that shot back and made a difference and took a risk or two along the way. I expect most soldiers in real life who fought the same way they do in CMx2 would have been killed sooner rather than later. Take the old gunner and halftrack issue..I bet at times when supressing a building or something they fired blind, juts popping up very briefly to make sure they where still shooting the area. Also soldiers shooting blind over cover or spraying a room from round the corner..non of these can happen either.
  6. Really the game needs to reduce the amount of kills by quiet away as it is. So lots of shooting for little to no effect is fine by me.
  7. Hello, just head on over to my Facebook page and enter! A chance to win a monster wargame LINK
  8. Same issue. I thought it might have been due to not removing the Z folder with regards to the new patch, so re installed and same issue. Not apparent at first it happened from a save. Thing is even the menu screen is effected aswell. AMD R270 card. Win 10 64bit
  9. I'm sure my tanks that got bogged came back in the next mission.
  10. That's right..silly me. Well I suppose I'd like to see them carrying the boxes:) Infact would be cool if they opened the boxes and there was a loading animation. One area I'd love to see improved is Inf animations. I'd pay for a expansion pack that just consisted of improved animations. Also I keep forgetting to take out my Z folder before I patch!!! OK just realised the reason I didn't see the USA HMG was because the soldier that has it had started off holding a pistol. Sill would be cool to see the HMG go across his should or where ever he put it if using his pistol.
  11. I was looking at the American HMG units at the start of the campaign..not the Courage one the other one..can't remember the name now. I do have an issue I think with my install as I'm getting letters missing etc. So will re install.
  12. WOW after all this time I've only just noticed a HMG unit doesn't actually show any parts of the HMG until it's set up. I also thought grenades where shown on Inf uniforms and got used up but again doesn't seem so. Finally I think HMG ammo bearers should have bands of ammo on them. So I'd love to see this in the future. Esp not being able to see the HMG on the soldiers so it looks like they must have some kind of magic bag they pull it from.
  13. Yes I think it does make it to the next mission as it doesn't show as killed in the AAR.
  14. Anthony I to find the worry over ammo an extra problem that to be honest I'd rather be without esp as you say we can't actually tell our tank commanders to be careful with HE ammo. This is where I'd love to have SOP's in the game you can issue to units at the start of the battle..
  15. Thing is I may have used to much tank ammo supressing buildings..
  16. I agree..CMx2 graphics have been unfairly criticised I feel. I do wish we had better and more varied animations though for the soldiers esp hunt movement.
  17. Hello,My name is Jason (as I'm sure a few of you already know) and for awhile now I've run a Facebook page called Tactical Wargames. 18. hehe..I'm presuming by the lack of response this is an acceptable casualty figure.
  19. PK after posting this in the German campaign thread cos I'm stupid I now asking again but this time you know which campaign I'm talking about. So is 2 halftracks and 33 men killed a lot of casualties for the first mission?
  20. Ahem..I'm being darn stupid..it isn't the German campaign I got those casualties but the American one against the paras. I can see why everyone is abit shocked at my casualty figures!! I really thought I was even more useless than I already am:) In the first mission in this campaign I think I had two or three men killed and that's it.
  21. OK will do..I'l go back to ore assault..only had 10 killed and not many wounded and lost no vehicles.
  22. Is having 33 men killed and I think 20 wounded and 2 halftracks lost a lot fro the first mission? I came with in friendly parameters but still seemed high. You see I took a risk in the end and decide don a mass assault from three sides..I lost the halftrack and 22 of the men killed in this attack. However it did win the battle. Not sure if I should go back pre the assault and wait abit longer. I was mindful though if using up to much HE trying to recon by fire troops in the buildings.
  23. Must admit would love it if this was modelled at the individual soldier level.
  24. Just read your posting new vignettes on your blog. Is it still OK to repost them on mine? If so could you just give me a heads up when a new one goes up:)

    Big thanks
