  4. Should have lots more going up soon..thanks for the great response regarding my request for AARs!
  5. I think it maybe best if say the forums came together. So maybe a West Front WW2 Games forum, An East Front WW2 (should grow over time) CMx2 Forum and finally a Modern CMx2 Game forum. As long as the mod forums are separate I see no real issue doing this. However I will say this, I hardly ever post but I do play regularly and will always be getting future releases. So forum traffic isn't really that good away in seeing how much a game is being played. Especially with CMx2 as I suspect most things have been discussed at some point or other about the CMx2 game engine..
  6. Thanks Ian:) John sounds good to me:) Send them to me in PDF format:)

  10. If you play solo and like West Front I'd say CMFB is the way to go due to new AI triggers. Infact I'm an East Front nut but I actually boot up CMFB and CMBN with all the modules far more often than CMRT. For some reason though I loved SHock Force once the Brit module was released I can't get into Black Sea (though if a campaign comes out that doesn't have LOADS of units I may start to warm to it more).
  11. Build up the CMBN game you own first:). CMBN with it's modules and FB are my favourite out of all of them except Italy as I don't own it. I'm an Eats front nut aswell..yets I sill go to CMBN with module sor FB first.
  12. I'm an East front nut myself and I agree..CMBN and it's modules and now FB get played more than CMRT. '41 to end of '42 would I'm sure get played way more than all of them when they start to arrive. Also looking at this thread of people asking before last summer when will we get the next module seems abit odd when we where told releases would be alot quicker as they have more than one team working on them..is that not the case anymore?
  13. Has it been confirmed they are actually working on a brand new engine? Also I agree if it did turn out they are working on it that it would be a let down if they started with West front '44 again IF we hadn't yet had the early war East front games on the previous (the current) engine. However I'm pretty certain it will be West front D day time no matter what's come out previously.
  14. Eagerly awaiting news about the Steel Panthers that is currently in development (Called Steel Tigers I think). My interview with Joel touche don it:) INTERVIEW WITH JOEL BILLINGS
  15. I can't see there being a new engine anytime soon. I thought this current engine was designed with the idea it will expand and grow over time thereby taking away the need to design a whole new engine again. Maybe when all the modules etc have been done for WW2 and the current modern game if it turns into a series all finished we may see a new engine..we will prob be on CMx2 version 10 by then:
  16. JuJu..I've said this before butt have to congratulate you again,,your soldier portraits are absolutely fantastic!
  17. Obviously the rest of the East front. Late war WW1 could be cool, then again the size of the scenarios and amount of units used any period of WW1 would be fine. Straightening the line and trench raids would work fantastically at any point in WW1, then Gallipoli would be great aswell. So thinking about it the engine would work well for any WW1 period. Only when you start getting to operational scale and higher can it become an issue with regards to static warfare. There is enough information out there to create thousands of WW1 scenarios from all stages of the War. This sort of scale is fine for WW1.
  18. I agree SOP's would be need if turn length was longer..AI isn't good enough in any game really to react and make the right decisions as it goes through different situations. SOP's would alleviate this..as they follow your SOP\Instructions as situation arises.
  19. Very rarely issue a target order, though as mentioned above, unless I need to suppress a certain area. When I'll usually try target briefly and usually try not to use tank rounds but small arms\MG's. So if looking at a typical scree of mine whilst playing you'll prob see a lot of target lines where I'm supressing windows\buildings whilst moving troops forward..rather than a lot of target lines ot specific units.
  20. Erwin SH5 got ripped apart on release..however download one of the mega mods and I really enjoy it! Also don't buy the Steam version as it means you can't mod\fix something which is important for the mega mods. I have it installed with the The Wolves of Steel Mega mod installed. Erwin speed up time is a must in the SH games..it's not an arcade game..you have to keep submersing to see if you get any contacts using sonar etc. If you want a realistic experience then get it..if you want instant action stay away. Other WW2 games I play are Red Orchestra 2\Rising Storm Atlantic Fleet Tigers Unleashed testing Future release of tactical game in current series set West Front\Africa 39 till 42. IL2 BOS IL2 COD with TF MOD Graviteam Tactics Op Star and DLC Graviteam Tactics Muis front and DLC SH4 and SH5 with lots of mods Command Ops 2 Decisive Campaigns Barbarossa (Greatest Operational Wargame made) Firefight (hoping we see it expand with future patches) Running with Rifles with WW2 or WW1 mod (great fun) Heroes of Normandie (not bad since the cards where added) WW1 Games Steam and Iron with Campaign expansion Verdun (Maybe just a touch to lethal, I love RO 2 but this feels a tad more difficult) WW1 Gold Wings Over Flanders Fields version 3 with all DLC (greatest single player flight sim ever made)
  21. I hope we see general Tac AI improvements! I would love one day to be able to stipulate covered movement so you set the waypoint and then the TAC AI will use a covered route rather than having to set lots of waypoints.. Also like to see any improvements that will help with urban combat. Like to see soldiers lean around corners and also be able to blind fire over walls if using smg's, and say half track gunners keep firing but duck their head behind armour plate if they have incoming fire. Just general self preservation improvements which could cut back the times you suddenly loose half a squad because it seems they didn't react well to the situation. Like to be able to order soldiers to throw grenades through windows, maybe a command similar to the blast command.
