  1. Anyone aware of a similar work on Afghanistan?
  2. Who are the guys with the black berets in the Wasp flamethrower?
  3. Probably need the Sdkfz7 in the game before this one.
  4. Yes, and it should be Fulda Gap!
  5. As long as they don't hit the bike ( Just kidding). German soldier reenactors are told never to wear their uniforms when traveling to and from an event to prevent misunderstanding, especially if pulled over for a traffic violation. Edit:spelling
  6. You can also use them to jump over barbed wire fences during escape attempts as long as they're not too big.
  7. As you indicated, it's been asked before and motorcycles and horses and a few other requests have become something of a meme on these boards . Mike, Mirekm, and Wicky have given good logical answers as to why we don't have them especially given the development work that may be required in adding them vs other priorities. That said, IIRC Steve said if they MAY add motorcycles if they do 1941 again, but the now legendary desired feature list is quite long you know.
  8. Do I assume correctly though it is a US Army history it also covers USMC British Etc and Kurdistan ?
  9. Really appreciate the screenshots. Any chance for a shot of Indian troops and Moroccan Goumiers ? Thanks!
  10. STTP, great video. Thanks for the link.
  11. Thank you gentlemen (and some ladies too), especially those who didn't come back. Let's hope we will never forget.
  12. Ah okay, I thought the Indian troop reference was regarding the 1st screen shot Elvis posted Thursday. Who are those guys in Elvis's screen shot 1 then?
  13. Wasn't it in CMBO? Though IIRC the graphics presented in that game for it were the same as the standard Pershing.
  14. I don't recall Steve ever saying they'll never expand fire beyond what we now have. It's just a question of priorities. We know there is a very long wish list of items wanted by both fans and Battlefront. Right now I assume the patch is at the top, but beyond that only Steve and Charles (and maybe the second second programmer, I'm unclear if there is one already) know what the top priorities are .
  15. Matt thanks for your CMX1 Mods site. It kicked ass. If I recall correctly, you were a bouncer once so you literally kicked ass yourself.
  16. goback may help but you probably thought of that yourself. Also if you don't mind, I'd be interested in hearing what sort of vehicles and equipment the Spanish Army using at the time.
  17. @Boche Yes please I'd love input to improve the Allied order of battle. When referring to Almansa as Cavalry does that mean it's a reconnaissance unit? @ithikal_AU Yes I see what you mean about the duplication. I'm pretty sure that's a copy and paste error. As I mentioned it's been some years since I wrote up this list. I believe the US units coming from Iraq were the actual units that were in country at the time. I'll have to research that again. I'll sort out which of the two divisions that brigade should belong to. I wonder if some one will make an Australian mod someday? I don't have the skill. Anyway I am thinking of making a "Vassal" module some day of this with the units mostly broken down by brigades. Some special units would be battalion. To make everything battalion level would require a very large map to make it the right scale Search for Vassal Engine if you are not familiar with what that is.
  18. If I recall correctly ( I wrote this up years ago) I just selected what I thought was a reasonable mix of units from each country's forces at the time. I think there was a NATO brigade on Battlefront's map with the label of just "Sp". I'd be more than happy to hear of suggested changes.

  20. And for convenience here is the Allied order of battle I composed years ago, again much of it inspired by the map from Shock Force I. Someone commented I have been over generous with the force I have given the Allies, but Allied forces would have months to prepare and the the dirty bomb scenario Battlefront came up with would inspire a NATO resolve much like the US had after 9-11. 21. Hi, A few folks were asking for this. I have the 2004 annual "Military Balance" periodical by the Institute of Strategic Study. It lists the Syrian Armed Forces as consisting of the following in 2004: Army c. 280,000 3 Corps HQ 7 Armored divisions (3 armored, 1 mech brigade, 1 artillery regiment each). 3 Mech divisions (2 armored, 2 mech brigades, 1 artillery regiment each). 1 Republican Guard division, ( 3 armored, 1 mech brigade, 1 artillery regiment). 1 Special Forces division (3 SF regiments.) 4 independent infantry brigades. 1 Border Guard brigade. 2 independent artillery brigades. 2 independent anti-tank brigades. 10 independent Special Forces regiments. 3 surface to surface to service missile brigades each of 3 battalions. 1 coastal surface to surface missile brigade. Reserves 1 Armored division HQ 4 Armored brigades. 2 Armored regiments. 31 infantry regiments. 3 artillery regiments. Navy c. 4000 2 Petya III class fast frigates. 18 patrol and coastal craft. Air Force c. 40,000 Fighter/Ground Attack 5 Sqds with 50 Su-22s 2 Sqds with 60 MiG 23s 2 Sqds with 20 Su-24s Fighter 8 Sqds with 160 MiG 21 5 Sqds with 60 MiG 23 2 Sqds with 30 MiG 25 1 Sqd with 42 MiG 29 8 Su 27 reported Recce Aircraft 5 MiG 25 40 MiG 21 Attack Helicopter 36 Mi 25 and SA 342 L Air Defense Command c. 60,000 2 AD divisions, 25 AD brigades with c. 150 SAM batteries, 23mm, 130 mm. c. 472 SA-2/-3 , 100 SA-6, and 4000 AD artillery pieces. 2 SAM regiments with c. 48 SA-5. Actually the map that came with the physical copies of Shock Force reflects the OOB above pretty well. I have more detail but it's mostly derived from research forum member SDP compiled for the meta campaign he was going to run back in 2010. He came up with a quite detailed Order of Battle which I discovered I still have on my harddrive. Some of it is fictional but he identifies what's fictional and what's not in his document. If you are interested in the document, I don't think he would mind me sharing it. Just send me a pm. SDP if you are still around and would rather I not share your OOB please let me know.
  22. Best to leave this thread to just chug off slowly to the sunset....
