  1. Could you please shorten that link? Side scrolling is a real pain Do it like this(without the quotes): "Bing West's book" gives you this: Bing West's book
  2. I'm another of those in the minority, I bought CMAK first, then CMBB. I've never played CMBO. The reason I bought CMAK was that my main interest in WW2 is the campaigns of the NZ Div. and CMAK allowed me to play out nearly all their battles. I know BFC is hesitant to release the CMx1 source code, is this mainly to do with lack of documentation? There is another game out there that had the same problem, Rowan's Battle of Britain. The source code was released to a bunch of enthusiasts (called the BDG) after Rowan went bust and they continued to develop it with no documentation for 500,000 lines of code. Now the game is thriving as Battle of Britain 2. I help out with the BDG and they've managed to work out what most of the code does. Now they are starting to add more features and use the engine for more games. If you did release the CMx1 code, there will always be a few dedicated people to see what they can make of it.
  3. Red Army had some scenes that would make good scenarios. The defence of the farm by the recon captain, Air assault on Hamelin, The Soviet breakthrough against the British, etc..
  4. LOL, definitely a premier league club .I think I got carpal tunnel making it too , especially getting rid of most of the internal walls. How big is your map? I haven't finished my map yet but I'm thinking I might reduce it's dimensions. It's currently 1km x 1km with not even half of it done and it's already starting to lag on my old P4 2.6 6600GT rig.All those buildings I guess...
  5. You beat me to it. Really nice looking map you've got there. I've been creating a map with a football stadium as well but yours looks a lot more middle eastern than mine:
  6. Ssnake of Esim games(Steel Beasts) has made an interesting point in this thread. He believes that.. (An excellent semi-review by him in that thread BTW) This is my feeling too. CMSF,IMHO, does feel a bit like a WW2 game with a modern twist. As much fun as it is, I think there should be some sort of penalty for flattening half the neighbourhood...
  7. You should have just blamed the Australian, we do
  8. Steve, The Stryker's have to be deflated too, though I am not sure to what degree.</font>
  9. It's a tight squeeze and the tyres have to be flattened, if I recall correctly.
  10. Someone posted a tactic they used by reversing a stryker up to a house(so the arse-end was inside it)and dismounting the troops inside.
  11. I want horses in the next patch so I can finally do some Lawrence of Arabia scenarios...
  12. It's probably the best COTS solution. If you built your own, the army probably wouldn't see it until 2020...
  13. Funnily enough, I was thinking about this last night.Steel Beasts Pro has a 73 Easting scenario which I was thinking of converting..
  14. Bugger. Oh well, I'm building a football stadium at the moment and I was trying to get some benches up on the roof for seating.Guess, I'll make it standing room only Thanks for the images Normal Dude
  15. Cheers for that I do have a question though, is it possible to put benches on the roof?
  16. You could just group them and use the menu like you do with the programs menu in Windows. e.g you mouse over Movement and all the movement commands become visible.
  17. He might have compatibility problems with his jar though..
  18. I'm hoping they'll wait for 1.02 to correct the mistakes and add the bits that are missing..
  19. 4 yr old P4 2.6,1 GB RAM with 6600GT 128MB and the game runs pretty good on medium settings
  20. Or if it's a QB, there's a bug that does that at the moment..
  21. When we said fix the bugs we didn't mean those kinda bugs..
