Lack of studying the map. Mostly I keep the view set to 4 or 5. I fail to get down to the 1 or 2 to see the contours to advance in the gullies/hills. When I do get down to 1 or 2 and I'm looking around when a close-up tree blocks my view it bugs me and hit 4 or 5 agian to see better - wrong thing to do. Basically, I only look for trees/buildings as concealment/cover not slopes. On defense When I see a hill I gotta hold the high ground, I never use "reverse slope" defence. Also poor deployment - view set to 4 or 5 and my opponents use the slopes I never see as cover.

I just got DSL and tried my 1st TCP/IP game over the weekend. Mt opponent couldn't hookup. I turned off my firewall and he still couldn't hook up. He hosted and I hooked up. BAM! we were able to play. In the middle of the game, I get this popup saying "Firewall is off. It could mean big time problems". After the game, I turned the firewall back on and ran all the requisite checkers: anti-Virus, ad-aware, spy-bot. All was clean. Now here's my questions: When is a fire wall really necessary? Was I just lucky during the game?

Trust. And if you can't trust them - remember: It's only a game - then go find a new player. This isn't a poker table. There is a famous quote by someone famous: Integrity, is what you do when no one is watching. But I really like j2d's quote better "...pick your nose carefully"

Pershotraveneve Ridge Excruciatingly balanced scenario. Small ME on a ridge. I found it to be very tense beginning to end. *****spoilers********* Both sides have a T34 and a STUG. You can't get any more balanced then that. Yeah I know the weapons captured by the Germans function better than those operated by the Russians. But its still very balanced.

I'm about 50% through Russia's War by Overy. I like him as an author. Very high level grand scheme type of book. No hot tank on tank action at all.

Been there done that. I blindly targeted an inf flanking maneuver with a 81mm spotter. The rounds miss by 150 meters, right in the hatch of a lend lease Sherm. Turned out the infantry was a weakend platoon and the main attack up the middle, wiped me out later in the battle.

I found a slight (very slight) bug in the map converter. When converting a map from CMBO to CMAK some of the "factory" rubble areas came across as "small house" rubble squares. I noticed that there was just one size rubble (full square)in CMBO and there are many rubble sizes available in CMAK.

In my early daze of CMBBing I lost many squads "hiding behind" tanks. In CM tanks are defined a point in space. The only time they block LOS/LOF for infantry is when they are flaming and generating smoke. I'd like to see a screeney in your CMBO game. I've read on defense the Russians would dig in and place MGs under knocked out tanks. Instant overhead protection. Hopefully tanks will block small arms LOF in CM2X.

Not for any games I'm playing, but looking at the screen when my son is playing a high speed game flips my stomach.
