  1. Welcome to the forums Oldblood of Sweden This thread should clarify squad representation. Check your manual and key settings. As you better identify enemy infantry, even in extreme fog of war, you'll get a single figure 'expand' to the 3 figure depiction of a squad (depending on casualties and/or settings). P.S. spell check 'infantery' - your spelling reminds me of troops with dysentery:p Wicky from Blighty
  2. Welcome to the CM forum and the depraved world of mod sluttery, You can find lots of links in the FAQ sticky thread in the CMBB forum, plus a search for /install/mods/modding/back up/bmp folder in the search function provided if you get stuck. CMMODS.com is the centre of the mod universe and most mod files have a simple read me included. Remember to back up the files your replacing or the whole bmp folder. Or use a utility called CMMOS, which handles a variety of mod rulesets on the PC (there is a similar new Mac version) A taster for modding is Mark Gallear's MOD School and gautrek's webpage Enjoy [ November 16, 2003, 06:28 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  3. The Hobart funnies rank for me as the best 'Scrapheap Challenge' vehicles "From persecution, victimization, and his incredible misemployment as a Home Guard corporal, Hobart's resurrection to a decisive command in the Allied armies is one of the more startling personal stories of the Second World War. 4. Apple 9.2.2 updater fom 9.2.1 this won't solve all your problems esp if you do have a 9000 card.
  5. Booted in OSX and checking in my system profiler gives me this: "ATY,RADEON: Type: display Bus: AGP Display Type: CRT Slot: SLOT-A VRAM (Total): 32 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x5144 Revision ID: 0x0000 ROM Revision: 113-74901-117 ...." what does yours say for VRAM? 32 or 64 but I think the fundamental issue is are you booted when running CM in OS9.2.2 or are you running in OSX Classic emulation. The system requirements for CM on the website product info: Mac OS 8.6 to 9.xx CMBB does not run natively under Mac OS X. If your tibook cannot boot into OS9 then that is another issue beyond identifying your video card. And your problem is more like to filling your brand new car's gas tank with diesel and wondering why it won't run properly. Try a search for "mac rave" to find out more .
  6. Actually, I have a 32mb ATI Radeon (I think), and it's showing me the psychotic colors. Thanks for your help. So, is no one playing CMBB on a TiBook with these specs? We just throw the games away? </font>
  7. A quick search turned up this thread, doesn't look good. Link (the only glimmer of hope was Don't Panic's partial fix) 32mb ATI Radeon cards work fine, anything after that seem screwed. [ November 15, 2003, 10:06 AM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  8. I wouldn't say you were goaded in testing, you made a rather rash statement and people asked for proof to back it up. You've accepted the challenge and now you're trying to penetrate into the murky 'Mind Of Charles' which has driven many a mortal* to madness, just like the scientists in Gullivers Travels who tried to extract sunshine from cucumbers But who knows, like Columbos you might be aiming for China but will discover the Americas instead. *Joeri vanished in January 2001 just a couple of months afer announcing his discovery, his last unanswered post questioned the AI's sanity in mine placement.
  9. Please read carefully again, until you comprehend his ironic conclusion: "About the unbogging techniques. Someone from BTS posted somewhere that you best do nothing while bogged and let the crew sort it out. By the way, unbogging chance is approx 75% (according to my test) so seeing all your vehicles unbog is not so unlikely. Unless you have had a very high number of occurences. I used to do the same trick (stopping and reversing) and it worked often(in approx. 75% of the time )." Digging deeper in the archive: Moon wrote Dec 30 1999: "I had to check back with Charles* about it to be sure, but a unit's order have no influence on its chances to "un-bog" or get stuck for good. Once bogged, a vehicle will try to free itself asap and disregards any order it has until it has done so or is immobilized (by throwing a track, driving even deeper into the mud etc.) " * The brain in a jar [ November 13, 2003, 02:00 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  10. Here's a link to Joeri's Original post in which he announced his discovery of the 'original' no-bogging in reverse bug. Most relevent (admittedly referring to CMBO in 2000) is his comment in the final post and his use of a smiley "About the unbogging techniques. 75% of the time )." Archive Link And another link in which he sets out statistical probabilities of bogging in various terrain types as an example of his thorough methodology and analysis. Archive Link "IIRC this has been commented upon by the new BTS member MadMatt and he said that player action has no effect on whether a vehicle frees itself or becomes immobilized." barrold713, Oct 6 2000 Archive Link [ November 13, 2003, 05:11 AM: Message edited by: Wicky ]

  12. To illustate this I have a QuickTime movie of a Soviet tank haunter team (reduced to one man) singlehandedly trying his hand with a Molotov, getting bored and using a grenade to successfully take out a Dorosh Slug. I minute of death & destruction (2.3mb) Edit: Movie file reduced in size from original raw 38.9mb!! Sadly, too true. Even against things like SPW 251/1s that ought to really take notice when a Molotov is tossed into the crew compartment. </font>
  13. SoundApp for Mac A nice bit of freeware, plus it can convert just about any audio file into a system sound for OS9 .
  14. Stonking Mod - esp. the attention to detail in the bullet holes in the front mudguard CMBB bmp folder now at 936.2 mb
  15. Does it happen to e-mails without attachments? How big are your PBEM files? You might have a file size limit enforced somwhere along the way, try zipping them if the limit is say over 1mb.
  16. All moveable guns (150 mm inf to 28 mm) travel at rate of approx 200m+ per minute (including 14 second command delay) in shallow fords Wow! Now to test if they go any quicker towed behind a truck edit: no [ November 10, 2003, 07:48 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  17. There are more points to gained by taking them prisoner as you can interrogate them for info and your Fog of War drops by a factor of 2. But If they escape, which I hope they do from you, they are unarmed but are raised to Ninja (one level higher than Elite) and you know nothing. Try the search function thoughtfully provided for more info. [ November 10, 2003, 06:48 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  18. He's most probaby running the files through ultra.exe. Best alter your enigma preference settings
  19. When I try this link I find to my distress it doesn't work. Please fix or sumfink www.battlefront.com/products/cmak/demo.html
  20. Try zipping the file before sending, Lurka should get zippit or stuffit and send MIME encoded. I'm on a Mac and have never had a problem in all my PBEMs but it's possible the raw txt file can have additional characters written to it somewhere along the way. Zipping it should prevent any changes in the file contents. Same kind of problem and advice [ November 10, 2003, 12:34 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  21. A helpful MikeT will be posting them as CMMOS packages at www.cmmods.com shortly. But the Frontovik mod package was aftertaken with the release with CMBB and with CMAK coming soon, same thing. [ November 09, 2003, 10:03 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  22. Welcome to the Forum Kump's mod Catalogue is a good starting point and here as well CMHQ How could I forget CMMODS I do highly recommend Magua's Normandy mod - gridded is best For xtra scenarios try The Scanario Depot Bookmark them all as you seem to have all the symptoms of modslutteryitis Check out the sticky FAQ at the top and halfway down. Some depots have come and gone. I'll give you a game - check your mail [ November 09, 2003, 08:15 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  23. Previously asked question in 1999 going back to 2000 Most probably a bit difficult to code - we'll have to see if this is adressed in CMX [ November 09, 2003, 03:25 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  24. "IP router" in the search in Tech support brings up quite a few similar questions and advice.
  25. You can in a kind of way by setting the operation parameters in the editor to supply options between battles as; severe, scarce, limited, adequate, full or ample. The problem would be all the other troops would have their ammo resupply effected as well by the chosen option. Vehicle recovery repair is another setting altogether.
