  1. I can give it a go early next week - two games of Cricket to play this weekend (quaint English war game played in summer wearing winter camo...) Cheers spaderunner@mac.com
  2. What differences come into play when one raises the 'computer experience' say to +3. Does it make a conscript unit have the attributes and benefits of a Vet (i.e. 3 levels of experience up) despite still being identified as a conscript? if so does Regular become Elite...gulp! I looked around in the manual and had a futile search in the forums without finding an answer. This comes about from playing a scenario - Allies vs AI Germans with a possibility of fanatasism of 50% regular and above. A lot of Conscript and Green units led by Regular HQ units proved quite tricky to overcome. Cheers

  4. Jeeps would give you some idea of what's on the roads and nearby but driven fast they would miss quite a bit . Sneaky, crawling Vet sharpshooters pushed as far as you dare to hide can keep an ear open and a limited eye on what's heading your way with the advantage of potentially buttoning down AFVs for good.
  5. Edited: Competely the wrong thread for this post but I'll leave it here as I want an answer from those north of just about everywhere but south of the north pole. Far to much Finnish lingo going on here, how about some Hungarian "meavon yukee poo?" Even my Grandmother stopped a soviet tank in Budapest with a broom handle - Don't ask me how she never elaborated Back to the hugs (where this post belongs) or are the Finns offering more dubious favours for their advance copies of CMBB....the public deserve the right to know. I don't personally want to offer hugs to the CMBB production team .. I WANT TO OFFER MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER so they can take my dosh and then they can lie down on a hot and sunny beach in luxury, for a week or two, and think of nice peaceful things instead of armour penetrations and smoke density algorithms, content in the knowledge that the CD is on the way to jolly England to me. I must confess I did a small dress rehearsal and bought online ...cough... Medal of Honour just to practice shopping for the big day. [ July 30, 2002, 07:08 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  6. Now will there be a football stadium building in CMBB with mods for the various team strips?? [ July 27, 2002, 06:01 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  7. What's the postage for the Pershing to be airmailed to the UK when it's ready? alternatively please send by matter transporter. Help - Tigers are on the loose....
  8. Cheers McAuliffe and Clubfoot, I followed the links and got e'm. With a Mac, without CMOSS, I'm having to mod up different 'Data' folders for different time periods. i.e Normal, D-day, BotB and Desert etc Once done I'm looking forward to getting on with the BotB battles as long as the HD doesn't collapse under the strain. Thanks again for the quick replies
  9. Thanks guys, I found the pic of the disguised panther but I cannot find a d/l for the mod despite searching all the usual 'mod slut' websites of ill repute. Any ideas? Also looking for Gordon Molek's Whitewashed allied TDs which I've seen pics for.
  10. Can anyone help in finding Pics or links to Panthers that were disguised as M10 TDs deployed in the Battle of the Bulge. I would like to do a mod based on this. Cheers [ July 24, 2002, 10:54 AM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  11. Am I the only one to have a FO who can call up satellite lasers?
  12. Send it my way, I've got far to much time to play with Send to e-mail in profile and I'll do whatever vs AI Cheers [ July 23, 2002, 07:41 PM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  13. To the best of my knowledge tanks and any other vehicles cannot go down into the woods But give it a try...
  14. Your question answered, which raises another There will be Mac version (OS 9 boot playable only) but I'm not to sure how thy're going to distribute it as the European CMBO CDV retail ones I've seen in games shops are PC only. (that's in the U.K) Not the internet order dual format disk. I was all right with CMBO 'cos I ordered from the U.S.A. Your quick answer beat my slow question... Can anyone answer how the Mac version will be available in Europe? [ July 23, 2002, 10:53 AM: Message edited by: Wicky ]
  15. BigDog, Done a flow of recollections of the 'Jobby' on the depot - feel free to edit if i've blabbed to much. Yup, I played Allied vs AI no added advantage to either side. Saw the post from the unhappy gent - I feel he must have walked to confidently into the well interlocking German defences as taking it apart took some planning, guesswork and a couple of lucky observations. Everything is generously provided in the 'toolkit' to take it apart, sometimes too much so i.e all the brit tanks (the joy of organizing the dash up to near the frontline - then when they get there I realise what's the rush as the US foot troops have still to clearaway through - Left most of the English tankers having a cuppa). There are more than plenty of quality US Shermans to oversea the advance - the ones placed in town and redeployed riverside ones add up to a formidable force. I don't normally enjoy pure urban scraps but the huge map gives a top context to what seems like 3 different battles in one. I thought maybe allied TRPs would allow smoke to be rapidly put down so allowing a crossing of the forces without the 'reinforcement' 2 wave) but then I found boats setting of later were still in the open from up river despite smoke rounds covering the banks - ideally a more localised foggy smoke would would give cover across the river - but that's a new game engine. Nah, leave the initial carnage as is - things get just better (but not always...)
  16. OJT Finished it late last night with a German surrender with a turn to go....phew Thoroughly enjoyed it as it was all happening on many fronts throughout the attack. Carnage across the river but those who survived came in v.useful going the long way round!. Was the lack of TRPs deliberate? Lots going on and chaotic (esp nearer the end) at times to allow some good luck (and bad) to have some effect on the best of intentioned plans Top battle
  17. For fellow mac heads Upgrading the graphics card etc web page Apple If you have problems with CMBO or in the future with CMBB this will help sort you out
  18. An OSX compatible version of CM3 please in 2 years, in the meantime it's no great hassle booting back and forth ( I have G4 DP450 with OSX and two OS9 systems - one for classic and the other for Quark and CMBO) . But for newcomers to the newer Macs with preinstalled OSX and classic I can imagine the confusion and hassle of installation and rebooting.
  19. Will the retail Euro CM-BB be Mac compatible? As the mail order CM-BO was dual but the retail version was PC only.
  20. I popped into the local Virgin games shop and was glad to see the UK retail CM but was shocked to see it was marked as just for the PC! this was confirmed by the staff. Now I've already got mine originally by mail order from the US (so I'm alright jack) over a year ago. Anyone got any idea why there isn't a dual installer version? and are thereby missing potential Mac sales here in Europe (odd as I believe the game was made on a Mac!)
