  1. I meant Empire Total War. Just got my memory mixed up. Empire looks hot and is due March 3rd or 4th!
  2. I don't post here much. When I do it's because I'm thrilled or P_ssed. Today I'm the latter and being as anticipathic as the rest of you over Campaigns I stumbled upon RickWelch's post while seeking truths and answers about Campaigns. I must say, RW, that you are far too kind in your assessment of TOW. I finally bought it a few weeks ago (fortunately at about half of what you paid) hoping to pacify my anemic hopes in Campaigns. I wish I had my money back! This game has been out close to two years? Am I right? And yes I did play the Demo when it first came out. I wasn't too impressed then but you know how it is with these publishers - after two or three patches you often have a pretty decent sim. So I bit and then got to see all the things the Demo didn't show you. After two years, where are all the mods? Why do I have to write code if I want to have triggers in any custom senarios? Who desided an Elite Tiger could be outgunned by an Regular Cromwell and where the hell is my PzIII Gs, Hs, Ls etc.? I don't like incoming shells that sound a church organs and I don't know what you call the aircraft. But the graphics are pretty so I guess the main idea was covered wasn't it? And finally in the Campaign mode where is the Continuity that makes it a Campaign in the first place. And what happened to 1942 in the German Campaign? I was going to try to add some of the 11th Pz Division's stellar actions of Dec. 1942 to this Campaign but nuts to that! First of all I'm not a software wiz and second where are the units I need (engineers? light calibre mortars? 251 variations? anti aircraft guns?) This package ain't worth the trouble! And I haven't even touched on how the game plays. It's a good thing I'm not green otherwise I might find the AI's attack on the trees not nearly as amusing as I do. I think this is the perfect place to post this kind of message. We've been waiting 4 years for Campaigns. So if you are frustrated with my post - so am I! Just so y'all know I'm waiting with equal enthusiasm on The Creative Assembly's "Total War Imperialism". I am a loyal Battlefront customer but don't do a TOW to me again!
  3. I have a natural American accent and a fair idea of what might have been said on the WWII battle field. All they have to do is ask. How hard is that?! "...com'mon you dogfaces! Move yer asses! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!" Cheezy? Yeah... but more credible than "Hoooorah"!
  4. I'll likely order this one tho I don't think it will happen this week. Looking beyond the cheezy American Rebel yells (and not even that - what 1930's westerns did I hear those war crys in??) I see a lot of possibility in this game assuming the Mission Editor Builder is really that good. .... Naw, those American yells have got to go. We are not the cliche' you think we are!
  5. I've been playing EB for the last few weeks - thanks for the Link! If you've played RTW you will find EB facinating. Well, I do anyway. It is more complex as far ast Strategy goes and that makes it more interesting. RTW is long enough that once you get thru one campaign you feel you've at least mastered the basics... and it starts to loose some of it's polish. The complexity of EB (more units more buildings and a more relistic Military Industrial complex) makes you have to think about the future. Some things remain mysterious. For free and the trouble of downloading it's worth playing.
  6. Casual CM players?.... Is there really such a thing? I watch this site and occationally pipe in. You can bet there are at least a few others keeping their eyes on it too who never say anything. I'm not nearly as pessimistic about their sales when it comes out. In fact, you watch the wildfire. I doubt there are many CM players who are "casual". All those dormant CM players will be back at it. It will be just like they had released "CM - Warsaw to Paris" or somethin'! We are a dedicated bunch, make no mistake. "Have a little faith, baby. What's with all these negative vibes...?"
  7. Yeah? Any chance you have a link to that sage2? I tried the RTR mod and while it was great it locked on me at a cetain point. Couldn't get past a certain year. No like-ee!
  8. Well... one thing is for sure; They better do something quick because obviously some of you are starting to twitch with cabin fever.
  9. Geez! Wonder if Orville and Wilbur Wright felt this way...? I still play CMBB and I'll be sorely disappointed if you listen to all these expert! On a different note, in response to the Mayan doomsday "noise" : how the heck did the Mayans know the earth wabbles one cycle on it's axis every 25000 year?!!! Oh yeahhhhhhh!!! - that's right! The Mayans had some, yet to be determined, connection with extraterresials! Does anyone remember when all the planets lined up in 1979? Does anyone remember the frantic social noise when we faced down the Iraqes in 1990? Does anyone remember Y2k? How much water did you store? Does anyone see a pattern here? Does anyone have any reasoning power anymore?
  10. Vaaaaaperrrrware Vaaaaperware..... It sounds so cooooool. I think they (the vaperboys) just like how it sounds.... Sorta like sallllzzzaaaa... salsa.... Oooooooooooo... "have a little faith, baby" - Oddball
  11. {Don't give false hope to unwashed.... } I am NOT a part of the unwashed!! I took my anual bath just last month!
  12. {You guys gotta make better wishes. You're wasting birthdays people!} Actually, I never celebrate my birthday. I celebrate the anniversary of my 29th birthday - have been for years! That way I never get older than 29. SO! They missed the XX anniversary of my 29th Birthday!!! The nerve!
  13. They missed my birthday too! THe nerve! Hey! If ya don't mean it don't ring my doorbell!
  14. I don't blame you.... blood thirsty Tigers. Well if you do deside to play it pbem keep me in mind. I think i'd like to try after thinking about it. The idea of keeping the view at the lowest level and depending on "optics" is intriguing. May try an AI scenerio to see how that goes.
  15. Manhay at Christmas; I'll have to check it out. I suppose I'll need to download and install one of the Northern Europe mods. Haven't had much luck with that yet.
