    Saar Campaign - November 1944.
November 1944. As the Allies advance approaches the Westwall and the German historical borders, German resistance intensifies.
On 27 November 1944, elements of the US(1?) 80th ID (under General Mc Bride) enter into Saint Avold. The German troops were to withdraw(2?)? The previous night the SS XIII Corps left the city in order to establish a new line of resistance West of the Saar river (Sarre in French). The same day, US Colonel Lewis orders his 317th Regiment to pursue the retreating Germans in the direction of Farebersviller.
In order to regain contact with the enemy the regiment marches off on foot because of the mud which hinders the mobility of their trucks. At dusk, contact is established about 10 km NE of Saint Avold in the vicinity of Farébersviller. Colonel Lewis orders the regiment to deploy and sends his leading battalion, the 3rd, to attack in the direction of Farebersviller while the 1st and 2d Battalions move forward south and north, respectively, of that village.
The American stumble onto a German rearguard element comprising the 17. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division « Götz von Berlichingen » tactical reserve tasked to delay the American advance. For 7 days, fierce combat take place into and in the vicinity of Farébersviller.
On 29 November, during the afternoon, Companies A and C of the 1st Battalion cross the railroad south of Farebersviller and gain the wooded ridge that lies beyond. About 1600 seven(3?) German tanks and a company of their infantry slice in between the advance companies and the rest of the battalion…

    1)      These are US troops I assume
    2)      Unclear if you intend to say that the Germans “withdrew.” or they “intended to withdraw.”
    3)      Don’t understand what you mean

<sigh> yes, it's understood that you hate trumpy and therefore nothing he does like getting our economy moving and challenging China will ever make you happy.  So, no point in engaging anymore.  This elitist attitude of negating the honestly felt beliefs and desires of so many of the "deplorables" is what got trumpy elected in the first place.  And am confident that these attitudes will help get him elected again in 2020.  Congratulations.  Keep up the good work.

Exactly.  Past administrations didn't have to balls to do what was necessary.  Putting pressure on China is the only way to bring the  NK's to heel.  And finally we're doing that.

Well, am happy with the way we are being told things are going (who knows how real that info is of course).  We may have to wait several months or even years to see how things work out.  But, these are actions that should have been done many years ago - and those leaders chose appeasement instead.

For players who are CMA fans there is no other option so could still have a long life (as has CM1).   You can't match the experience of playing with 1980s era gear and tech with any other title.
Playing CMA is a great antidote when one gets burned out on the other modern titles.

Erwin got a reaction from Kinophile in ATGMs don't fire?
Inability to select main weapons has same issue with the Ukrainian BTR4.  It has 30mm plus AGL and in the many times I have played with a BTR4, it always exhausts its 30mm HE (at 10 rounds/sec it takes only about 40-50 seconds) regardless of the suitability of the target before it uses the AGL.
Maybe not economical/practical to address for CM2, but hope this is on the list for CM3.
Incidentally. a major problem with fast firing weapons like the BTR4's 30mm is that it only requires maybe 5 seconds of fire to be effective.  If one uses the 15 second fire command it uses way too much ammo (approx 25% of its entire HE load-out).  Currently, one has to revert to the old work around of having waypoints with a 5 second pause and TARGET command followed by a fast move to another waypoint a few meters way with a covered arc or facing command to stop the firing.
How practical would it be to reduce the firing time span command to 5 second increments?  For modern weapons that is often all one needs.

The positive side of CMSF1 mods not working in CMSF2 is that CMSF2 has the appearance of a well-modded CMSF1.  In the pics shown of CMSF2, the graphics look very similar to my heavily modded CMSF1.  ie:  One may not need to mod CMSF2 nearly as much as we did CMSF1.
That is a very good thing as it is a PITA to keep up with a plethora of mods that may interfere with one another, or become obsolete when new game versions become available.

Before one can consider what may or may not be a good idea, the question is how many employees/programmers does DCS have?  Then compare that to BF and their respective budgets.

Yes, as others noted it is very useful to understand WHY you choose the units you do, what their purpose is etc.  Also, during the AAR, it's invaluable to have explained the thinking/intentions behind the tactics used.   While so far, CMBS is by far the most lethal of all the CM2 titles, this is probably the best form of tutorial for modern-ish CM2 games.

    New website looks terrific.
My only thought is on the "My Orders Page" to give a text title as to what the order was for.  At the moment there is only a date and order number.  One has no idea what that data refers to should one want to re-download a particular item - one can have up to 19 anonymous purchases to figure out.

Maybe the question is "what matters?"   To some of us at least the most important items are 1) improving economy; 2) unrestricted immigration being addressed; 3) no missiles flying; 4) NK and China threats finally being addressed; 5) unemployment down;  6) the "forgotten workers" having hope (finally) etc.   I come from an immigrant/refugee from war, working class family, so these items resonate with me.
Don't really care who is actually accomplishing any of the above. Don't care about personalities or their characters since the above items are more about national survival and economic improvement.  We're already in a 21st century war - economically and culturally.  Churchill wasn't a nice man.  He was gotten rid of as soon as as WW2 was over.  The moral is that whomever can get the job done while the crisis is in effect will continue to be supported.
As to your point re NK, thanks to Chinese support, NK has been a nasty totalitarian regime terrorizing their population for decades since Kim #1 in 1948.  Hypocritical and politically cynical for folks to suddenly become incensed about NK now.

Actually, I didn't vote for Trumpy.  (At the time, I rather liked the old fellow that The Dems and Hillary cheated and who might have beaten Trump.)  But, sad how you try to use that to dismiss my points - like calling someone a "racist" to stop all discussion cos one can't win the actual discussion.
"You missed the point completely.  Trump cares, they are his cheerleaders.  They don't balk at almost anything he does.  They balked on this one."
Yes, let's "get this back to just discussing the DPRK" for the 3 or 4 people who actually read this forum b4 they fall asleep.

Yes, unless you have an eidetic memory, it is almost essential to write down all intel gathered by Defectors because when the Defectors are evacuated the player will have to remember what intel the Defectors provided so as to determine future COA's (Courses of Action).
For players who have been hankering for a large, operational-level feel, low-intensity/COIN scenario in which the player has to analyze and prioritize the importance of various actionable intelligence items that are provided during the game, and which may change the game depending on how the player responds, this is a uniquely brilliant effort by MOS.
Hope that TOC will inspire similar efforts when CMSF2 is released as CMSF2 may be even more suitable for this sort of COIN scenario or campaign.
