  1. For that size maybe burn to a CD? I would pay for the convenience. Not sure I have ever d/l'd 800MB. (It's just a question of how much $...)
  2. what is your card? (I find my nVidia seems to give good results.)
  3. Ooops. Sorry Snake Eye... I love your "A HELLUVA ROAD OPENING" scenario. Hope you still lurk over at CMSF forums.
  4. Assuming you have a decent graphics card, you may want to get into the 3D controls and reset parameters to "higher quality" etc.
  5. Thanks... That was actually quite interesting. Never heard of that little "sideshow of a sideshow of a sideshow..."
  6. I want to spend as much time on tactics (plotting moves) as I can, not fighting the game interface and wasting time on non-tactical stuff that used to be easy. What is wrong with that?
  7. I liked the auto combined arms option as well (as in CM1 I guess).
  8. Someone said something about "after a year you'd have to buy the game again" if you wanted a new d/l. IIRC, you do NOT have to buy it again, just ask BF for a new d/l code or summat...
  9. IIRC if a friendly gets in proximity so they are "rescued" they can return... but maybe without weapons (or is that only in CM1??) - it gets confusing with all these different versions around.
  10. I had a problem continuing after my two initial tanks were either KO'd or had their main guns KO'd. So, I thought I'd go back to the xnt German campaigns b4 retrying Corridor. But, now we have all those gorgeous Aris mods, looking forward to trying the Brits again (when the new version is out). I had some feedback/questions re ROAD OPENING btw (loving it) if you ever look at the CMSF forums any more...
  11. Scenario Depot II: http://the-scenario-depot.com/index.html
  12. It was a LOT better than making a big announcement and then having people get frustrated after 6 months of nothing more...
  13. Agreed, but it takes more time. And there are so many clicks/actions needed in CM2 that all those extras all add up to a significant amount of time compared to CM1 "instant 180 degree arcs".
  14. It's probably like movie sequels. After a big hit they do something risky, knowing they can always fall back on the guaranteed successful formula next time.
  15. Am wondering about the ITALY mods made for CMBN.
  16. "Target Briefly" is very welcome if that the best that can be done re "Fire X Rounds Only".
  17. Hope we get the Poles in there as well. They did take Monte Cassino after all...
  18. Can mods be swapped between CMBN and CMFI?
  19. +1 on the 180 degree arc. Used it all the time in CM1, and it wastes a lot of time doing it in CM2. I know we're told that it's not necessary in CM2 as there is no great increase in spotting ability, but so long as there is ANY advantage in a covered arc for spotting, I feel one should use it.
  20. "They are learning." Yes. They did it the right way imo this time.
  21. I pre-ordered CMFI as BF deserves the cash for all the great work they do for us. But, I'll be a bit bummed if I have to actually buy a patch/upgrade soon after the game is released... I also wonder how our devoted modders (esp Aris) are going to cope with all new mods to make. I doubt Aris had time to actually play CMBN. I really hope BF hire him. Not sure how far they can go once real money is being made expecting people to do SO much work for free. The CM series would not be nearly as much fun without those super mods those talented volunteers have created for us.
