  1. Have noticed that Russian arty strikes take a long time to arrive and are not accurate. For area fire you often have to set a point target. If you have a 25m area, the strike will cover 75m etc. If this reflects RL, the Russians are in unbelievable trouble. So, am not sure that I do believe that their arty is this bad.

  5. So what we're saying is that immobilized is same as destroyed and that what determines if the unit/vehicle returns is the replacement and/or repair rate set by the designer? In the editor are they two separate items that can be adjusted?

  7. I have tried using MOVE for tired troops and that seems to slow down recovery. Now, I just let em sit doing nothing, doesn't seem to matter if they are on HIDE or not.
  8. Google is wonderful new resource that is highly recommended. At least in CM1 it seems hiding does NOT help recovery.

  10. IIRC we were originally told (years ago) that HIDE does increase recovery. But, after so many patches and updates, who knows...

Example: When I ran a committee the number of "great ideas" was overwhelming and discussions went on uselessly for hours. So, we initiated a policy that whomever came up with their great idea was responsible for implementation. That cut the waste of time by well over 90% and our meetings took minutes instead of hours When people have to commit even a tiny amount like $1, it would cut down a lot of wishes that are not that realistic or serious. The objective is to make folks put a little thought into what it is that they want someone else (ie BFC) to commit thousands of man-hours and money towards.

  13. How about that anyone who wants to suggest a new idea come up with just $1 to send to BF to help in raising funds to research the development of the new idea? (Or at least suggest how the new idea will be funded to pay for the development.)

  16. IIRC it's all the naming convention. Eg; graphic.bmp; graphic 2.bmp; graphic 3.bmp etc. IIRC you should NOT have a graphic 1.bmp as that messes things up. Am sure there are modders here who can be more accurate. Try asking on other forums.

  19. We had a big discussion elsewhere on these forums about bogging. Someone did tests with vehicles crossing walls, fences and hedges using FAST vs SLOW and according to the tests, there was NO difference in the % chance of damage (in the game). Not intuitive at all. We have to appreciate that this is still a game and some things do not reflect RL. Al long time ago there were extensive tests using different types of terrain. But, perhaps updates and patches have changed all that.

  22. Am hoping the beta is the "final" version of each campaign. Anyone else know of more "final" versions out there???
