Interesting article. However, I only skimmed it and didn't notice the important aspect of EU coming to realize that incorporating Turkey into EU would open the floodgates to massive Islamic immigration - an increasingly serious problem in Europe already. The WSJ recently had articles illustrating how Muslims are well on the way to creating a parallel Sharia legal system, where they can go instead of to British courts etc.

CMBS Rolling thunder do is difficult.
Erwin replied to Sandokan's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
That's accurate. In CMSF one can (or should) be able to win with minimal if any casualties and the victory condition usually have huge penalties for Blue casualties. In CMBS, you can have a bloodbath and still win as Blue. Coming from CMSF, that can be very depressing. -
Reverse slope/grazing fire.

+1 Couldn't have said it better. This is main reason CM1 is still played as it is very easy to play on a 8Km x 4Km map with more than a reinforced Regiment Task Force on each side. One of the mission types I miss in CM2 is the "vehicular recon". Distances are rarely large enuff to justify em. Usually it's better to dismount any recon vehicles and recon crews on foot. And recon vehicles and inf units nearly always get used as conventional troops. -
Thought we should start a thread demonstrating our admiration for Great Leader Kim and how all this treasonous spamming is sabotaging these efforts. Spammers will be executed by torture and AA guns.

Heroic behavior. At first I thought he woulda gotten the MOH. Then I realized that MOH was reserved for soldiers who consciously put themselves in mortal danger - as opposed to finding themselves in mortal danger and then reacting heroically instead of doing something sensible to save their skin. However, Chapman was posthumously awarded MOH cos he got left behind in Op Anaconda (and knowing what AlQaeda would do to him, had to fight until he was killed). https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2018/05/08/navy-seal-to-receive-medal-of-honor-for-2002s-operation-anaconda/

Reverse slope/grazing fire.

Interesting idea. But, as you say earlier - only useful on larger maps. Presumably you would need LOS of 2 Km or more. -
Can read it ok here as well.

Always appreciate your mods, Olek. However, I notice that you eliminate the hooded faces in favor of camo faces. Seems a shame. Also, you made the camo uniforms etc darker. Don;t know what your video settings are, but I already find your CMBS uniforms and mods rather dark and sometimes virtually black with little detail. Even the pics you posted above - some of them look way too dark to see all the details that one should see. So, am concerned that all your mods are getting too dark. (For all other purposes my monitor gives xnt color and light.)

Now BF may have to waste time on this - which could delay the release of CMSF2 and the next CMFI module! Finally, the US has to take the NK threat seriously!! That could mean <shock/horror> CM: Korea ramps up production. And we all know what that could mean for NK.

First, make sure that your waypoints do not require the unit to cross "impassable terrain".

Well of course I can - I work out almost every day! The point is that he wasn't ordered to acquire anything. It may be a bug that he exited the vehicle with all that ammo.

What kind of specs should a PC have to run CMx2 well?
Erwin replied to y77h66's topic in Combat Mission - General Discussion
Recommend 1TB or 2TB SSD, with maybe a 2TB conventional HD for BU. Have found that the SSD can keep an older computer running current software just fine - so one saves on at least one generation of high end computer one doesn't have to buy. -
Thanks. Anyone comment on the Drone- Hellfire issue that it can spot the vehicle but cannot fire at it?? Also the Humvee driver literally running off with 2,210 rounds of ammo that he did not get ordered to acquire. Have saved game files, just not sure who needs it.

What is CM:Warsaw Uprising 44?

Pretty amazing color quality.

Playing MOS' outstanding TOC scenario (again) - and noticed a couple new strange items. Thought I'd post em here to see if other players can duplicate. (Have saved game files of course.) 1)The Hellfire-armed drone (and its Elite JTAC operator) can see a BRDM the woods. They are the ONLY units that have eyes on this BRDM. But when it’s ordered to fire a Hellfire, get message: “CANNOT LOCATE”. Tried this order a few times with same illogical result. Is this a bug? So, I used the JTAC to order a precision 120mm mortar strike on the BRDM. IIRC In the past precision strikes were accurate. But a crater open up a few meters away from the BRDM - but no kill. 2nd Precision strike landed closer and did kill the BRDM (but it didn't hit the BRDM). Is this normal for "Precision Strikes"? 2) In the same scenario, I dismounted the driver from his Humvee and moved him a distance away without the driver acquiring anything. However, the UI shows he is carrying 2210 rounds of 5.56m.

Great job! Really like the shading/coloring of the faces and the 3D effect! They pop out of the screen. (The Russian tanker looks like his eyes are closed?)

Could there be a CM Korea?
Erwin replied to Bulletpoint's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I never saw Dropteam b4. It looks like a good game. Could be CM but from FPS POV. However, hope the actual graphics are better than what we see in the video clips. -

Not into fantasy - other than CM games. But, the models/miniatures that Dwarven Forge has created look amazing. -
Am not familiar withe scenario and you do not say how long it is. But dismounting and getting a gun ready for firing takes time. My instincts would be to find the furthest position away from the objective building that you can find with good LOS to the building and place the gun there - so it is as safe as you can get it from enemy fire. Then pound the building till it collapses - hopefully killing all the defenders. Use the Stug to help with HE if needed. While the smoke from the collapsed building blinds the enemy from seeing your movements - move in at that time and finish em off.
