  1. Russian 57mm HE shells had 1.1 pounds of TNT compared to .4 pounds in British 6 Pounder shells. I don't know if Russian lend lease Valentines used British ammo or Russian but it sounds like the game assumes the latter.
  2. It's actually the 7th iteration of these threads over the past year. https://community.battlefront.com/search/?q=ODDITIES&quick=1&search_in=titles Chalk it up to the oddities and weirdness of Erwin.
  3. And thanks to CM Professional militaries throughout the West will be thinking like CM players too! Wait.... whos side are you on, Steve?
  4. https://www.amazon.com/Panzer-Destroyer-Memoirs-Army-Commander/dp/1844159515
  5. I have been able to achieve LOS through a barn before. I submitted it as a bug years ago but Charles couldn't reproduce it when he opened the file.
  6. I had a similar issue this morning. It disabled my Nvidia card driver, so I was running on the default windows video driver. It did the same to my Razor mouse driver. I uninstalled KB5005033 and everything works again.
  7. This. The Follow command worked great as long as the column drove in a straight line but it struggled with turns and obstacles. It was too niche in usefulness to justify the UI space. What we need is a Convoy command or similar functionality that is applicable to road movement. I can tell you BFC have not given up on the idea but I don't know when they will try again.
  8. If you were to set up a test and obtain a sample size larger than 2 you would see that first shot hits at 1300 meters are very much the exception, not the rule. LOS/LOF through trees is weird because the graphical representation of foliage is suggestive rather than an exact representation of how the physics engine sees it. This can lead to shots that appear impossible. If you trust in trees to hide your vehicles they will betray you eventually. It's one of those game quirks we have to live with.
  9. Afraid so, among others. See the last page of the RT Module TO&E Thread in the beta forum.
  10. They told you no such thing. This has been pointed out to you before.
  11. Of course. When a player advances to the next mission of a CM campaign they make a post about it on the forum. Everyone knows this.
  12. Just be aware that each formation costs 50 points.
  13. Not true. As noted, 76mm APCR will kill it frontally. APCR becomes available in July 44. QB price changes made to CMBN will also be made to the other WW2 games and vice versa. You may not care about the other games but some people do.
  14. And 4 King Tigers are (arguably) much more valuable than 5 JPz IV/70s. And 4 Sherman 76s are more valuable than 5 Sherman 75s. And 4 IS-2s are more valuable than 5 T-34/85s. And so on and so forth. Because the price difference between one model and the next tier up model is typically a fraction of the cost of a single unit moving up or down a tier will not dramatically change the number of units you can purchase. There may be a good argument for increasing the intervals between unit prices, particularly in the upper half of the scale.
  15. I don't understand why you are calling the JPz IV/70(V) a "Hetzer". The Hetzer is a JPz 38. And for 65 more points you can buy a King Tiger. Even better gun, even better armor 76mm APCR will kill it from the front. So will 90mm when it shows up. So again, whether the JPz IV armor is effectively a lot better than StuG armor or just a little better than StuG armor depends on what is shooting at it.
  16. Thanks. But I should point out that the Panzer IV/70(V) is about 60 points more than a StuG. If that's "nearly the same" then StuGs and Panzer IVs are also nearly the same
  17. You might want to check your numbers. The most expensive StuG is nowhere near 344 points. The cheapest (StuG IV in Red Thunder) is 284.
  18. A limitation of the system is that it does not take into account the opposition. By-in-large I agree with you, but if you were facing British forces comprised of a typical mix of Fireflies and Sherman 75s the KT would not neccessily be a bargain since the KT turret front is vulnerable to 17 pdr APDS and the 88mm gun is massive overkill (that you still pay for).
  19. "Regular" Shermans are not cheap only because of the gun. They have thinner upper and lower hull armor than late model Shermans. The armor is also of lower quality. Late model Shermans are not so cheap, even with the mediocre gun. FIreflies are based on early model Shermans with bad armor. They are also penalized a bit for having only one machine gun.
  20. I believe there is always one standard rarity model of Panther.
  21. You wouldn't want real life cost to factor into game cost. In RL a Panther tank was only slightly more expensive than a Panzer IV.
  22. It happens if the game is installed to a non-default location.
  23. Players pick a task force template of unit types then the game assigns specific units to it. Doesn't matter. People would complain about getting screwed by the random number generator. It depends, but I would consider Stugs a little better than Pz IVs and roughly on par with Sherman 76s. They have 27 rounds of HE. If you can use all 27 you're doing good. The later Stugs have a coaxial machine gun and a remote controlled machine gun. Yeah, maybe. IIRC a .50 caliber machine gun can kill a Marder so I avoid them. I once asked Steve to put me in charge of unit prices, told him I'd accept all the heat for it. He was nice enough not to let me
