  1. Can unit experience drop below zero? I now it can mathematically, but what do your rules say about this? For example, i had a platoon HQ two man down, routed at the end of the game. According to my calculations it has -3 exp. level before replacements: 7-5-5=-3 (2 casualties, routed, routed at the end) So, the replacements coming to the unit are green. Then the "After Replacements" experience would be -1.5? EDIT: Just to make my question more clear: So this -1.5 value will affect the total experience gained (lower it)? 2. If you roll it as "not known" i guess then the force type is unrestricted and force is random. But the replacement calculation is really PITA. If someone could design the web-from or a little software, where this is done automatically, it would be a big help for this overall great idea. [ July 31, 2002, 10:32 AM: Message edited by: ciks ]
  3. One thing which seems missing is, how to determine the number of turns, i.e. the time given to the commander to complete the task. Shouldn't this be calculated somehow?
  4. One small mistake. In Experience level table you have put the Crack above Elite.
  5. Hi Wreck! I read through all of the rules and tried to understand them (and did, to some extent...). But it would be very helpful, if you wrote a 1+ battle AAR, with every dice roll and detail covered. Thanks anyway.
  6. I have a long hands so i'll hug them all together, instead of one by one, to save time for CM:BO. [ July 30, 2002, 12:48 PM: Message edited by: ciks ]
  7. This is a decent site with lots of info on the subject: Armored trains [ July 30, 2002, 10:05 AM: Message edited by: ciks ]
  8. Having trains would add some eye candy, especially armored trains, but somehow i'm pretty certain, that no, there won't be any trains in CMBB.
  9. Which brings one thought to my mind: is there an option to save a "presets"? For example, a 700pt Combined Arms Attack/Defend in the fog chosen with one click of a drop down menu?
  10. I wonder what will happen to the Battlefront FTP server the day when the demo will be released...
  11. Sometimes, when unit is sneaking and spots a hostile unit, but has a "Hide" order at the end of sneak command, the unit will hide with red targeting line extending to the potential target. But i suppose it is not he case here. Maybe there are some variable coded into the game, that when PIAT team suffers casualty, the reload time is somewhat random. But 15 minutes seems too much anyway...
  12. Was PIAT hiding? Units in hide do not reload their weapons.
  13. I guess both games are mine. One with redwolf: going at a constant on-file-per-day rate, we're at turn 23 or 24 of 40. Another is against White4, he shot all my armour, now i'm killing his infantry. He's not happy. I'm having some fun thou (this game is at 29 of 40)
  14. As Moon stated in the interview - Battlefront.
  15. Just had to add my thanks to the list. (my English is too bad to find the right adjective)
  16. OK, time to come out of lurk mode. Am i the only one, to whom the above sentence seems strange? Do you actually mean, that by having a better gunsight optics, tanks spot an AT guns over great distances in no-time? I thought that AT guns in CMBO are already too easy to spot... What about all those AARs, where single or few well cammo'ed AT guns held up the whole columns of armor for hours if not days, and were never spotted in the process? Was my perception on the AT-gun-spotting subject wrong or i simply misread the above quote?
  17. CM is actually MADE on Mac. So don't worry, pal.
  18. IIRC there were one very big hanging bridge over the Dniepr river, in vicinity of Kiev. According to Carell (i know, i know...) Germans managed to capture it intact by surprise attack (might be a good scenario idea).
  19. That undamaged roof looks a bit strange with together with damaged walls (which are beautiful)...
  20. First, that wasn't cannon but some kind of rocket launcher device Second, the reload time of 10 minutes or so, IIRC, is not very cool. EDIT: From Achtung Panzer site [ July 15, 2002, 09:34 AM: Message edited by: ciks ]
  21. I asked the very same question some time ago. The answer generally was as you said: lousy spotting when actualy shooting. I'm not sure about ROF thou – those tanks had dedicated loader after all (at least early T-34, i'm not sure about crew layout of other tanks ). However the gunner being a commander may lead to longer delay before getting first shot out.
