1.
quote:
cik's you're probably a marmot or a vole - Gyrene was pretty much just following stereotypes with his little outburst!!

At least now I know who I am! Phe... and people say that those internet forums ar useless...
 2. I suggest you guys read the book by Viktor Suvorov - "Ledokol" (Ice Breaker?). He studies the subject DEEEEP.
 3.
quote:
with many Shrews and Moles from the Ukraine and the Baltics

I am from the Baltics. Am I Shrew or Mole? What's the difference?
 4. It's definetely better as the old one, i'm saying this beeing professional web designer. Letters however could use some more contrast, and would be nice if sections of stuff in the menu (maps, operations, mods) is little bit more separated from each other for better navigation.
 5.
quote:
Remember, there were only a couple of Super Pershings in the European Theatre.

so... why are they included in CM at all?
 6. I remember reading on this board somewhere, that extra-weight was added on the back of Super Pershing to support very long and heavy barrel. Just my 2-something.
 7.
quote:
I race them right up to enemy infantry when i find them

Hmm, strange, what about PanzerFausts?
 8. Well, I didn't post in this thread to discuss tactics, but share my thoughts on Stuart itself. Combined Arms doesn't make Stuart's HE much better, does it? OK, to correct my small mistake and maybe to make it more clear i'll say: "Don't expect Stuart to kill infantry, but it does the job at surpressing it"
 9. One drawback of Stuart is, that the 37mm HE has practically no killing effect on dug-in infantry. It HAS 3 machine-guns, which comes handy when you're defending and enemy infantry has to cross open ground, but not on attack.
 10. You can't trace LOS through rublle if you are on the same height level the rubble is. If you're higher, then no problem.
 11. This is GREAT news! [ 05-28-2001: Message edited by: ciks ]
 12. bump i would like to know... is there some official or semi-official answer to my question?
 13. I second your feelings, that behavior has bothered me too.
 14.
quote:
It really only has a big impact when the initial time was several minutes.

Exactly. When you use 81mm mortars it's no big deal, but when it comes to workhorse 105... especially German one - delay time with visible TRP - 45 secs, and if it is doubled, enemy is nowhere there.
 15. first off - ISBDFA (I Searched But Didn't Found Anything) Why there is double delay for fire missions called on TRPs out of sight? I thought, TRP means that the target is pre-registered, pre-spotted, pre-everything, no spotting rounds needed etc.... Please?
 16. You can't miss with Wild Bill's ones. Singling Shootout, Le Leroy, Maastricht - Tough Tanks etc. Just lock and load!
 17.
quote:
The screeshot clearly show a burning vehicle, with vehicle textures turned off... (Shift-V)

not for sure it can be that those 81mm set some vehicle on fire which has been previously unspotted. in this case you see smoke but don't see vehicle itself
 18. hey all! maybe you are interested in a map i created. i started doing it with no particular purpose in mind, just for fun, but it turned out pretty good and realistic (stiil working on it). here are some teaser screenshots: the map features a big river and a lone bridge. i think it can be an asault boat scenario (not seeing them much). as i said, still working on it, but if you're interested in making scenario based on this map, drop me a line or post your e-mail address here. 19. Did you notice, there are SHADOWS on the tank models  Or is it just some screenshots from 3D application and there will be no "real" shadows in the game itself?
 20.
quote:
10 guys with rifles could easily put 200 rounds per minute

Just a question: is it really possible to fire 20 rounds per minute with WWII rifle?
