Emphasis quoted in bold are mine.  Specific to them, can consideration be given to publishing something that shows all those differences?  My biggest struggle with QB's (besides my own lack of knowledge ) is a lack of detailed information explaining how German Fusiliers differ from Grenadiers or American Glider Infantry from Airborne Infantry, etc., etc., etc.  The community created Dealership mods fall short in this regard.  I would really appreciate documents or spreadsheets showing how platoons differ from each other, ideally for all the CM games but R2V might be a good place to start.  I would volunteer to help if it's just a matter of time and labor.

Harken, Dear Sulomon. Sit and I shall spin ye a tale.
Once upon a time there lived a haunted forum full of angry trolls led by an evil Canadian wizard who drew his dark powers from a magical Waffen SS manikin. This cult of personality disorder, bound by their hatred for the light, began predicting the downfall of BF in the year of our lord, 2000 and 7. They'd gather together, under the jaundiced light of a gibbous moon to gnash their teeth and drown kittens, while fantasizing about how Steve was gonna run his company into the ground do to all his bad game making decisions. For a fortnight and a grand age did they conspire and ruminate. During all their dire predictions and dark prophecies did BF persevere; releasing CMSF and it's 3 modules, CMA, CMBN, CMFI, CMRT, CMBS, CMFB, 3 upgrades, 3 modules, double digit patches, 1 vehicle pack and 2 battle packs. 11 years later, the vile Canadian Wizard having been banished to the blackest anus of the internet by the very devils he worshiped, his mutinous followers either turned to stone from years of hate or consumed by the very hellfire in their souls, the forum now consists of one guy who sits around talking to himself. The Wargaming Gods call that irony.
Harken well, dear Sulomon, for there is a moral to this tale I tell to thee. Sometimes, gentle Sulomon, a cigar is just a cigar. And sometimes games and patches are delayed because they just need more time. Let not the demons of rumor and despair take thee. Seek enlightenment, reach for the truth, for if ye don't ye may just end up with a Waffen SS manikin in thy boudoir and a penchant for dunking baby cats!

I'm not expert on this, but how much time it takes to train solder in " kill machine " in this modern era? I don't believe in WWII there was plenty of time for training and lot of soldiers weren't born killers. (like today.. ;)).
p.s. I can tell you for Yugoslav partisans there was almost no training, you were happy if you had a gun.... and there were a headless chickens moments..

Ales Dvorak reacted to CCIP in Golynki - 2x2 km, villages/marshes (map done/scenario WIP, v0.1)
    Greetings!

This is my first real attempt with the editor - which started out from this real-world Luftwaffe aerial shot I came across for the village of Golynki, west of Smolensk...

...which I stretched to fit more neatly into a CM-friendly grid, and came out with this map:

It is a 2000m x 1792m map, covering a few types of terrain: a peat bog in the northern half, a wooded area and the near-pristine village of Tregubovka to the southeast, and the larger village of Golynki to the soutwest, which has been largely demolished and abandoned under the German occupation. The map is divided in half by drainage ditch running north-south (both it and a secondary ditch on the northeast side are passable 'shallow ford' throughout), and has a major rail line running east-west in the bottom quarter of the map.

At the moment, I have no data on any actions that took place here - all I learned is that this area was recaptured by the Soviets in October 1943 (I originally thought it was part of the CMRT timeline in 1944, but it is not so).

It's a very detailed, handcrafted map - it may still need a bit of optimization as I went very heavy on the flavour objects (so the frame rate might drag down in certain areas, depending on your system). On the upside, it's very pretty in places

I'm trying to figure out what to do with it in terms of scenario - and since I have absolutely 0 experience with scenario building and AI programming at the moment, any help or advice would be appreciated! What would you like to see on this map?

At the moment, there is no AI and all the parameters, objectives, etc. are placeholders only. It's only really usable in the editor right now.

You may download my current WIP version of it here:
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hA9cr80cdMmHkGK8mhhbNgZz_LAefsyH

    ...or in the forum attachment.

If you have anything that you'd like to create on this map yourself, or use it or any part of it for your own scenarios - you're very welcome to do so (with credit for map given).

    Thanks for checking it out!

For those who want a summary of the conflict in this thread that has turned so hostile, so quick:
Sing, forum poster, of the rage of @Rinaldi. Black and murderous it cost the Battlefront devs incalculable pain, it pitched many countless forum posters and fanboys into the dark depths of Hell (otherwise known as graviteam tactics).
Begin with the clash between squarehead-the most dedicated of forum frequenters and The mad Canuck-Rinaldi.
Which issue set these two at each other’s throats this time? The 4.0 patch, the son of the immortal Steve.

Ales Dvorak reacted to John Kettler in ebay's got a bunch of real WW II maps available now (mostly auction but some also purchasable)
Wanted to pass the word that all sorts of cartographic martial wonder is on offer right now, including a TOP SECRET-BIGOT map of Gela, Sicily, route of advance maps for named US divisions, ETO tour broadsides for others, Royal Ordnance Survey maps and even US and RAF silk escape maps for various theaters. For the space of a few hours, I held top bid (a stretch at $52) for a TOP SECRET-BIGOT 12 x 15" OMAHA WEST map, but people placed astronomic bids late in the game, and it sold for some $862.15!

Thanks for stating it that way.
I will say, as a beta-tester, coming to grips with this behavior has been difficult. The NDA prevents a lot of what I'd like say (and is a nice way to dodge ) but realize that the HE fleeing behavior was not seen as a deal-breaker before v4.0 was released...or it would not have been released.
Think about the myriad of situations your pixeltroops have been in. Think about how often they do the right thing...and you don't even notice it. Think about when they do something wrong...and the situation which it took to get that behavior.
Without giving too much (anything?) away, I follow two basic courses of investigation: there are areas I dig into to find stuff; and there are times when I get a whiff of something not quite right. In the first case, I start with a set of presumed behaviors and try to stress them to their outlying limits. In the other case, I happen to notice something in passing...and then the Eye of Sauron focuses upon it.
There are fewer and fewer of each. And the gameplay effect of most are very minor.
I can field multiple battalions and have total mayhem reign for four hours...and notice only a few odd cases of behavior. Most (all?) can be explained by men panicking under fire or other reasonable explanations. Think about the magnitude of that achievement: several hundreds of "men" acting realistically over multiple square kilometers whilst killing and being killed and trying to achieve a terrain objective.
The HE behavior slipped through. Now, what if the fix is worse? Maybe men will stick in their locations, but then tanks reverse towards threats. But only if unbuttoned and the threat is known but out of LOS. And only on odd numbered turns.
Occam's Razor: if the fix were simple, wouldn't you have it already?

I'm looking forward to us one day receiving some actual info on this module.  BF has been stating that 2018 is shaping-up to be a big year for them as to new releases.  So, hopefully, the wait won't be too long now.
However, I'm really looking forward to the promised patches to fix the issues that were introduced by the 4.0 upgrade: namely the TacAI's highly questionable behavior when under artillery/mortar fire and the Brens and BARs being reduced to single-shot weapons when fired past a certain range.  The 4.0 upgrade came out over a year ago, and a fix for these issues is well past due.

Cheers, mate. Yes, back in 2012 I did a CMBN scenario based on the 27th Division's landing on Makin Atoll (contemporaneous with bloody Tarawa), since it was very well documented and a reasonable scale of action, plus there were no flamethrowers available (as was the case with CMBN version 1).
Once you reach high water the atoll is pooltable flat other than manmade taro pits, so to prevent ridiculous amounts of keyholing through the overgrown palm plantations I used randomly scattered Low Bocage tiles. It worked out quite well and was a challenging fight. Rapid exhaustion of Green troops means that the US commander needs to advance in 'waves' (as historically) rather than just many-on-fewing the massively outnumbered and outgunned Japanese out of their holes. Hand grenades are a massive killer; also the lack of bazookas and FTs to bust bunkers forces you to rely on armour support in spite of the bogging risks.
So I can't offer the Sergeant Sledge Marine bloodbaths you probably crave, but it can scratch the itch.
Fanatical (modded) British forces stand in quite nicely for SNLF rikusentai. Alas, the mods (wireframes, faces, voices) were done in engine version 1 and were never updated for the new naming convention.
Not much new to add on the hoary topic of 'does the CM2 engine work for Pacific?' but the bipolar AI infantry movement consisting of either 'slow painful crawl' or 'run straight at 'em howling' actually reflects Japanese tactical practice tolerably well....

As usual with these kind of questinons...I would say that the biggest question is...what settings do YOU prefer ? The western front ? or the Eastern front ?
As far as quality goes i would say that the two games are fairly equal if you include both stock and comunity made stuff...
Kampfgruppe Peiper (CMFB) have been highly praised in the comments on these forums...So have Kampfgruppe von Schroif (CMRT) for example...
Both games obviously include far more content then these two Campaigns but as far as quality goes if feel that they are fairly equal...CMFB is a newer game and the stock scenario designers learns new tricks with every release they make but CMRT have had far more content released post release compared to CMFB.
What is yor prefrence...CMRT will give you an entirely new country to play with...entirely new units...etc. CMFB is a continuation of the fighting between the americans and the germans on the western front...It will not give  you as a unique experience as CMRT will...but if the western front 'lights your fire' to a greater degree then the east does...I'd say...go for CMFB !
If you do not strongly prefer the wetsren front...Go for CMRT !...Way more scenarios and Campaigns to chose from. An entirely new country. A new CMRT module is about to be released soon. CMFB is in for a longer wait it seems...
